ITDEFX, can I ask you a question?

Totally off-topic, but why is it when you talk about your experiences you always mention the person's race/nationality?

Why does it matter that a "muslim" guy asked for his friends to bring a tent. Or even the importance that an "asian" girl froze her ass off.

check your pm.

now that I can recall, its not the line before the store opens, it's the freaking line during check out. I remembered it took me freaking 2 hours check out when I had like only 5 items. When the line snakes around the store, then get ready for a long wait in what could have taken 10 mins.

I've not bought things before due to lines. Not during BF since I refuse to shop on BF, but I was about to buy a couple of old PC games (Ultimate Doom and Rebel Assault) at a Goodwill but there were about 4 or 5 people at each checkout and everyone had a cart full of clothes.

And so far today I've picked up ET:QW and Unreal Anthology from GoGamer and the -$31 webcam and My Life DVD from Amazon.

whoever is here to whine and complain about people who are CRAZY enough to camp out LEAVE NOW youre ruining the thread. the purpose of this thread is to share our stories/hauls/pics not bitch about others.

are there any deals really that great that they're worth waiting in line overnight for this year?
are there any deals really that great that they're worth waiting in line overnight for this year?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It all depends on the individual.

Some are going to be willing to stand in line for things that we think are crap, but that's their choice.

I only ever camped out for a Wii and it wasn't that bad of an experience. Everyone was polite, nice and we shared food in line, but I don't think I'd ever really do it again in the cold weather.

IMO NO! There are a couple good tv deals but nothing you couldn't come close to in price already. Sears F&F was a great deal and no bf lines. CC online for my 42" sharp 1080p $1199. Even now there are some pretty good ones you could get online wed and Thurs. without the wait. Laptops not worth the wait you can get a budget lappy for $400 ish any day of the week online. But for many they like waiting just to say they were there. And if they do it once they go again and again. They got caught up in the hype. To each their own though. Me I am getting a few things online.

pretty sure the word douchebag comes to mind (and no not just you everyone who does stuff like this)

i grabbed one (could've thrown in two more) for my cousin who's been looking for one

i hope amazon cancells all orders for the wii who placed more than one, because its fairly obvious what they are trying to do, and stores do reserve the right to do so if they choose

I bought the Navigon 2100 GPS on Staples.com like 10 mins ago. I still haven't gotten a confirmation e-mail though : (

Spent about 10 minutes in line outside Circuit City (about 300 people back), got a gift and a gold DS Lite and was out of the store at 5:15.

Went next door to Target where I waited in line for a half hour, grabbed a couple movies, and was back home at 6:15.

Stupid Amazon with their good service have already prepped my other gold DS for shipping, so I can't cancel it. Ah well.

So what does Best Buy have to warrant people to begin camping out at 5:00 AM Thursday?

I personally saw jack shit for this BF, besides a couple of DVDs at Target... but I'd rather spend the couple extra bucks and have it ordered via DeepDiscount. fuck the long crowds, not to mention everyone is hostile and unfriendly.

the laptops and the desktops bro...people go crazy for those especially

I picked up the following -

Video Rocker from Wal-Mart - $30.00
Gun (360) from Best Buy - $5.00
The Notebook from Target - $3.94
Blood Diamond from Target - $3.94
50 pack CD-R's from Target - $4.99

Plus I got some other holiday giftsets from Target as well for gifts. The stores were packed, but if you went without a cart it was easy to weave in and out to get what you were looking for and get out of the store in a timely manner.

I work at Office Depot and they always throw a fit over BF and hardly anyone ever comes to our store.........extra hours and free pizza all for nothing ftw?

I intended to get the 42" Panasonic plasma from BB. Waited on line for 5 hours, then my BB turned into a riotous situation that somehow transformed my #100 or so place in line to a #900 or so place in line. Needless to say, I walked away empty handed...

I ordered a Magellan GPS from K-Mart's website yesterday since it was $129 and I've always wanted one. I also get to go out and scream at somebody at Sears Grand since I went there yesterday and bought Assassin's Creed and opened it up only to find an empty case.

Got drunk last night, with intentions of going to Best Buy, CC, and Target. Passed out playing Super Paper Mario around 2 or 3. Miraculously woke up at 5 somehow. Got my brother up, went to Best Buy. Was mainly interested in getting TV shows on DVD this year, so here's my haul from Best Buy
 1. Smallville Season 6
 2. Family Guy Vol 5
 3. The OC Season 4
 4. The Office Season 2
 5. Las Vegas Seasons 1-4
 6. Spiderman 3 PS2
Everything above was $15 each, although only The OC, Spiderman 3, The Office Season 2, and Las Vegas Season 1 rang up $15. I was told the others weren't on sale by the person on the floor, but the cashier overrode everything else for me, which if she wasn't supposed to, saved me an extra $159 (looking online, it does look like these weren't supposed to be $15). Wasn't too long a wait, the line moved pretty fast.

Went to Target, got Seinfeld Season 8 $15 and Newsradio Season 5 $20 (not on Black Friday sale, just regular price there I guess, which is normally like $35 at Best Buy).

At Circuit City, I got
 1. King of Queens Season 8 $13
 2. Las Vegas Season 3 $13
 3. The Office Season 2 $13
 4. Dave Chapelle's Block Party $3
 5. Red Steel Wii $10 (x3, for me, a friend to bundle with when he sells his Wii for a 360, and a gift for another friend)
Gonna return LVS3 and TOS2 to Best Buy, to save me $4 total. That's all I got, but my brother got a "free" printer at an unspecified office retailer b/c it didn't make it onto the receipt somehow. They scanned everything in the cart, but somehow it didn't get charged. It was $150 I think. That's it, gonna consider going back out, but don't know yet, possibly Gamestop B2G1F.

I did all my shopping online this year to avoid waiting in line.

At bestbuy.com I got
$5 Gun 360 - for myself
$20 Resident Evil 4 Wii - gift

At amazon.com I got
$45 COD 4 360 (it was in my gold box) - for myself

I got a Wii last night on Amazon...waited til 3AM and then refreshed like there was no tomorrow...went to bed at 3:10 because I got the confirmation email, then when I woke up (few minutes ago), Amazon told me they had shipped it. :bouncy:

I had already got Gun online for $5.29 shipped but I woke up and got to the mall at 7am

I got:
Call of Juarez (360) - $10
Shaun of the Dead (HDDVD) - $17
Madcatz Xbox 360 arcade stick (with 3 xbla games!!!) - $10!!!!!!!!
^that isnt a blackfriday sale- just a sick clear out.

Mine says it'll ship Wednesday and I ordered it at like 3:05. I wish mine was guaranteed to have already shipped. I've only gotten the order confirmation.

For a total of $68.xx.

And at another GS:

Along with the Orange Box from Best Buy, this has been the best BF for me gaming wise. I might go back for some more games at Gamestop... they had a few more games I wanted.

As mentioned in the other thread, I got:

Fatal Fury Battle Archives, Vol. 1 & Metropolismania 2 at KBToys
Tomb Raider Anniversary, Sonic Riders, Mortal Kombat Armaggedon and 3 used PS2 games (Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven, Killer 7, and Ninja Assault) at Gamestop
Stuntman: Ignition, Def Jam Icon, SSX Blur & Resident Evil 4 Wii at Best Buy
Ordered Rainbow Six: Vegas LE at Amazon

I may go back to Gamestop and see if there's any Call of Juarez's or COD 2 left at Circuit City later.

Some stories from today:

-The Wii in stock at the Gamestop sold out in under an hour. Amazing
-I heard from someone standing in line with me that people were lining up OUTSIDE Best Buy yesterday at noon. And they were still there when the doors opened.
-The Gamestop I went to tried to admit people in 'batches,' but just out-numbered by the time the doors opened. The line was all the way to the back of the store.
-Hastings is having a sale as well (picked up Monk Season 1 for $14.99!) on season DVD's for $15 - 17 when I went there. Also, they are having "Buy 2 Used/Clearance Rental Video Games and Get the 3rd for a penny" sale.

2GB MS pro duo
Blu ray remote PS3
RS6:VEGAS PSP
virtua tennis 3 for ps3
Quake wars PC
Mage Knight: Apocalypse PC
SAMSUNG 22" LCD Widescreen Monitor

for me

Managed to snag all 4 james bond ultimate collections for 18.99 each and House S2 for 12.99 from Cc.com.
Took forever to get through the checkout since the site kept going up and down and changing the price. Would have snagged casino royale for 8.99 but didnt want to wait till they all were the right price.

In a way im kind of glad there weren't any good sales on stuff I wanted. Saved me some money.

If I can find 3 games of similar price, I may go down to gamestop and grab a set of 3.

lets see, i went to best buy with my bro and gf at 6 am, no line just walked right in.

i got the orange box, 300 dvd, borat dvd, rain man dvd for 40 bucks. not bad for a few gifts.

they had TONS of the orange box, could have probably gone a lot later and got more sleep.

Circuit City:

Non GH copy of Bully for PS2-$10
Non GH copy of Matrix Path Of Neo for PS2- $4.99
Copy of Crank(widescreen)- $3.99
Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars guide(my local CC was clearing out a bunch of diff guides) .99

Total: $21.16

Best Buy:

PStwo slim(79001 model, with Spiderman 3 on the back cover, must mean its fairly recent)- $129.99
Product Replacement Plan-$19.99

Total: $158.98

The guide is going on my TL, but I'm keeping the rest(for now).

Best part out of all of this is, I used my PRP on my 2 year old Xbox last week and got $158.99 in credit at BB for the Xbox and I had a $20 gift card from when I did the game guarantee thing @ CC(they didn't have Tony Hawk's Proving Ground). So, all totalled, my out of pocket expense for the day today was.......................................

One Dollar and Sixteen Cents out of pocket

And, even better, I stopped in the FYE where I bought the Transformers game WAYYYYYYY back in July and they had a copy of the animated movie in stock, which they said they would give me to fulfill the 'free TF movie when buying any version of the TF game' deal from back then. All I had to do was find my receipt and show them it and it's mine.

So, I'm a VERY happy CHEAP CAG today.

I'm not sure where to post this.... but anyone who ordered a Wii on amazon are you getting a weird delivery date?

My order status say it should ship on

11/26 and arrive between 11/29 and 12/27?

It also already charged me the 300 bucks for it...

Edit: It shipped already... wow.. I guess my email to customer service helped (maybe).

Also got Gun from bestbuy.com

Ergo keyboard from amazon

Laser Mouse from amazon

Webcam from amazon (the one that leaves you @ +30 after rebate)

My first Black Friday in almost 3 years where I didn't have to work early. It's was really nice having the entire day to myself.

Circuit City:
-House: Season 1 ($12.99)
-House: Season 2 ($12.99)

Best Buy:
-House: Season 3 ($14.99 via BB ad error/misprint)

Borders:
-Planet Terror ($3.99 w/ $5 off Planet Terror manufacturer's coupon)

I wanted to pick up Nip/Tuck Seasons 1-3 but every store I went to were out of most of the seasons. Oh well, hopefully I'll be able to get them cheap in the future.

Mine says ship 11/23 arrive 11/27. But they seem to give priority ship times to Amazon Prime Members.

I got 42' hp hdtv 1080p online for 1058$ shipped 500 off =D might go to gamestop and take advantage of buy 2 1free or just that 10% off and get mass effect

well no gps for me, as I predicted. However getting low priority items worked fine as there was plenty of copies of bio shock and UT3 :)

My sears is right between a circuit city and a best buy, so there wasn't even a line until 4am, got in there, bought a 42" 1080p lcd for $900, and got home by 6. I may go and see if there are any dvds at bb and cc in a couple of minutes and scrounge gamestop for the b2g1, but if there's nothing i want, fuck it, I got the tv and a full 8hrs of sleep. Oh, and i got my buddy who was at target to grab me a 300.

My selection was mainly DVD's. At Circuit City I got:

Sideways 3.99
Friday Night Lights 3.99
Hitch 3.99
The Truman Show 2.99
Saving Silverman 2.99
Catch Me If You Can 2.99
American Dreams 2.99
8 Mile 2.99
Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind 2.99

That was the first store I went to. I wanted to go at like 3, but I slept through my alarm and didnt wake up until 3:24 but was at the store(which is about 5 miles from my house) by 3:33. After that I went to Best Buy and got:

2 San Disk 2GB MP3 players for my Dad and Grandpa 34.99 (Each)
Knocked Up 6.99
300 6.99

After that I went to Kohl's because my girlfriend wanted hand towels that were on sale for 2.99 I found the hand towels but the wait for the line was like an hour and a half so I said screw it and I went home.

Seagate 320 GB internal HD for $60
Samsung 22" Widescreen LCD monitor for $200

I just walked in at 11 AM and got them. Someone tried to hide the monitor and I found it, I guess. It was packed in with a plethora of Halo 3 Xboxes. Sucker.

There were countless Armenians at my Best Buy (Sherman Oaks, CA) cutting in line. Worse was they all smelled terrible, and it really seems lke their whole commuity has no shame. They were arrogant, disrespectful, obnoxious, rude, smelly, repulsive douche-bag liars. Seriously- it's not a stereotype when every single one of the 100+ Armenians in the crowd is that way. Best Buy employees told the ones who cut in line to get out, and at least five who were in front of me refused to move, even though the cashiers refused to ring them up. They kept trying to get a different employee to ring them up while several people behind them argued to kick them out. Of course the employees were swamped and couldn't, but there are some seriously f-ed up people in the valley. Just a bunch of rich bitches.

last time i did best buy, there were a whole lot of people with newborn babies...and some lady swung a baby at me at the doors...i am really serious (it hit me in the arm)
i got a great haul last year, but i wasnt feeling it this year :( nothing that really excited me

Actually *just* went to Best Buy at 11:30am and came back with the Orange Box(PC) for $25 and a Panasonic electric razor/trimmer combo for $20. Yeehaw. Pretty much all I wanted, since times are lean and I'm not really in the mood to spend for the sake of spending.

Sort of a new Best Buy, so I figure that's why it wasn't completely picked clean six hours later.
