Pre-order Bonuses Listing

Scorpius

CAGiversary!
Ok, everyone, I thought I'd try to bring this thread back, because it was a huge help to me when I was looking to pre-order games, only thing is I'm going to need some help keeping it updated. A few issues I've got: I'm currently deployed, so I'm only really tracking games that I care about... no idea what's coming out outside of those. I've also forgotten stores other than BBY, GS, and Amazon. So, if I can get help, we're good, otherwise this thread will die.
The idea is to list the pre-order bonuses associated with certain stores.
These aren't really deals, but I know that sometimes, bonuses were what swayed me to one store over another, so thought I'd help others with the same.

Wow, its been a while since I seen this thread on the 1st page. Thanks for the update OP. Here's another game to add to the list.

February 14, 2012

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend Limited Edition
--Amazon--
Bonus items for limited edition include CD soundtrack, Calendar and Artbook

I went ahead and divided the OP into two different sections that link out to either the PS3 or 360 version of the game. I might do all pre-order bonuses through March tonight. I'll also add a PC and 3DS section if they're wanted.

Sorry for the double post, but I just added the 3DS and PC sections. I'll be adding the March pre-order bonuses tonight. Hope you guys like the way everything's organized.

I would edit the OP, but I don't want to muck up your work. Mass Effect 3 has the M55 Argus Assault Rifle available to anyone who pre-orders. In addition, GameStop has the N7 Warfare Gear and Origin as the AT12 Raider Shotgun.

Just added all the pre-order bonuses through March. Is Origin still offering the AT12 Raider Shotgun? I checked and they don't list it anymore.

Anyone ever pre-order something from Amazon/Gamestop, get the pre-order bonus... use it, and then return the game from Amazon before? I want to get all 3 bonuses for FFXIII-2 and I was thinking about ordering from all 3, returning the Gamestop and Amazon ones after using the bonus and then keeping the BB one for the book.

Those aren't preorder bonuses, they are the contents of the Limited Edition - which costs $20 more than the standard (Aksys used to give bonuses for free, but now they're Capcom II). It's also available at Gamestop, if anyone cares.

Not sure. I have zero plans to ever buy anything through Origin.

Added bonus poster for FFXIII-2 from Walmart that is included in the packaging. It isn't shown on their website for some reason, but noticed it while I was looking on the official website for the game.

the 10$ credit does not apply to mass effect 3 collectors edition does it? i think i saw a couple weeks back that the collectors edition included the 10$.

I don't think it does.

Update 1/25:
 • Added the Origin.com Mass Effect 3 pre-order bonus for PS3, 360, and PC
 • Added the Amazon.com and GameStop Silent Hill: Downpour pre-order bonuses for PS3 and 360
 • Updated the release date for Inversion for PS3 and 360
 • Temporarily removed Max Payne 3 for PS3, 360, and PC (Delayed till May. Will be re-added in a couple months)
 • Minor spelling mistakes corrected
If I missed anything, please let me know. Thanks!

So apologies if this has been answered but does Amazon have a preorder bonus for Resident Evil Opperation Raccoon City? Also I'm assuming the costumes are the same everywhere just different weapons?
Agreed, I want all the FF13-2 pre-order bonuses. I ended up going with Gamestop since I have one close to me, Best Buy's too far away and the Amazon pre-order bonus is my least favorite of the 3. It wasn't an extremely difficult decision but still annoying nonetheless.
Based on your phrasing, it sounds like you would have preferred BBY's preorder bonus over GS's. Do you mind if I ask why? I'm still wondering if going with the book is the way to go, especially since you can find its contents for free online and in the past, GS's preorder DLC hasn't later appeared online and as a result becomes rare.

Partly because I have credit at Gamestop. I originally wanted the book too, but I've since seen a video of a UK unboxing of the softcover version and I was less than impressed with it. Although I know for collection purposes physical always trumps digital but it really boils down to personal choice with this pre-order bonus.

if u buy ff xiii-2 in store on release day at walmart u get a free poster of the battle of valhalla... atleast thats what the sign read when i went to walmart yesterday.

GameStop, Best Buy and Amazon each have two unique weapons as bonuses if you pre-order the $60 regular edition.

However, all six of these guns (and two more) are included in the $70 Special Edition.

So if you can, order the Special Edition to get everything, including the outfits.

I've only got a couple of days left to think about this...

To make it even more difficult of a decision, I was somehow able to get my Amazon preorder for the FFXIII CE lowered to $72.19 (5% off for ordering with the CE guide, then 5% off of that due to Quick Picks discount). I'd basically be saving $10 getting it from Amazon instead of BBY due to no tax, but is it worth cancelling my BBY preorder?

:bomb:

Is it possible to just order FFXIII-2 from all 3 to reap the benefits of all of them? Can't I just keep 1 copy and return the other 2? or are the DLC/Artbook packed in the game itself?

Bonus Offer
Pre-order Kid Icarus: Uprising and get a bonus download code for 3D Classics: Kid Icarus. The promotional code will be e-mailed within two days after the product ships. This offer will be extended to all pre-orders. Offer valid when shipped and sold by Amazon.com, while supplies last. Limit one per customer. Amazon reserves the right to change or terminate this promotion at any time.

I don't know man it's a tough call, which one are you leaning more towards? You will still be getting a pretty good pre-order bonus (that might not be available for purchase later on) with Amazon in addition to getting $10 off, that's a pretty good deal IMO.

If the book is packaged the same way as the UK version then it will be packaged with the game itself and Gamestop usually has their pre-order code(s) slip within the game case. As for Amazon they email their codes so I guess you could do that with them but it's kind of a jerk move.

He sounded excited for the game (and passionate about games in general), so I'd feel kind of bad just cancelling the preorder after having such a fun discussion.

I'm probably making a mountain out of a molehill, though; not only would I be saving $10 plus whatever gas money to drive to BBY, but I could pay for the FFXIII-2 CE on Amazon entirely with credit. It's looking more and more like this is the way to go. :whistle2:k

I pre-ordered Silent Hill: Downpour on Amazon back in July when it was offered for $49.99.

I see it has the pre-order bonus now, of two weapons and a $10 gift credit that will be emailed to you as codes after the game ships. I emailed an Amazon representative about it and he/she said I wouldn't be getting it. But I read the pre-order details again, and at the end it says.. "Offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders."

Which sounds like my pre-order should get the bonuses regardless of when I purchased it. You guys are the masters, will this work out normally and I'll get it, or no?

Money is easily replaceable. Limited edition collectables are not.
You'll get it.
Well, that's good.

But oh crap. :whistle2:# The Amazon representative gave me a $10 promotional credit in the email after saying I wouldn't be getting the pre-order bonuses, tho yeah that paragraph definitely ends saying all pre-orders do. I don't like taking money like that out of mistakes but I mean, okay. :bouncy:

How is it a Jerk move if I want all the FFXIII-2 DLC? The dev/publishing companies are the one's doing the dick move by chopping up the game like that. Now I haven't done it before but I was thinking about doing it for this game due to the good reviews and pretty much how much I'm excited for it. It's a ton of money up front but I'll be getting it back the next day or so with the reward of the actual DLC/Artbook.

Has anyone else tried this and has it worked? BTW can someone confirm if bestbuy has the art book packaged with the game itself?
Money is easily replaceable. Limited edition collectables are not.
I understand that, but can you really consider a book that comes with all first-run copies a "limited edition collectable"? Also, depending on whether SE releases FFXIII-2 DLC here, the Omega DLC might become a limited edition collectable (though it'd be stupid for them to do otherwise)...

I thought the book was only for pre-orders. Is it sorta like a "free upgrade" ie "limited edition" etc that's guaranteed if you preorder?
I thought the book was only for pre-orders. Is it sorta like a "free upgrade" ie "limited edition" etc that's guaranteed if you preorder?
The book isn't really for pre-orders. Like many things I've notice from Bestbuy (when it comes to games), it's available to anybody that buys the game while supplies last. If you look at their ad, shows that you don't really need to preorder to get it. I still think it's a collectable. Maybe not one that would fitch you a price or increase the rarity of what you got, but nice to have.

After much deliberation, I cancelled my FFXIII-2 CE preorder at BBY and paid off my $72.19 Amazon preorder (entirely with credit). It's pretty sweet that both that and the CE guide will get to me on Tuesday (Release Date Delivery). :D

Did you get email today or yesterday saying that your game has been ship? Because only my CE strategy guide has been ship, but not the game. Should I be worry?

so you only get the case for Resident Evil: Revelations if you preorder from best buy online? not in store.....that kind of sucks.

I'm sure this has been mentioned already...
Yakuza Dead Souls pre-order bonus at Gamestop. You get weapons, costumes, and some other stuff. It is not listed yet, but I saw it on the Sega message boards.

For those wondering about preorder DLC's from Bestbuy. Soul Calibur 5 CE & reg copies is prepack in case. Final Fantasy XIII-2 CE is shrink wrap together with the mini guide not sure about reg copies though.

Just picked up my FF XII-2 CE with the novella from BB (pre-ordered it back in December)... The CE is sold out on BB's website, the PS3 regular too, the only one left is Xbox 360 which is also bundled with the novella. I don't know about the stores, I didn't check since I use the store pick up option (I guess I could have browsed the store afterward, but I didn't feel like to waste time).

Oh, just to let you know, the novella is bundled with the game, it's not really a pre-order bonus per se, it's more like first come first served thing.

Did any get the Walmart laser art cell for Soul Calibur V?

It was supposed to be available to anyone that purchased game within 24hours of release. I went to my store and they didn't even get any.
Blah. Last time I have a pre-order with Best Buy (asked a friend to do since I don't buy much from BB and he gets the reward zone points).

I don't know how they screwed this one up...but I ask my friend to pre-order the game online for me back in December. Game ships and it turns out BB shipped Soul Calibur V CE for the PS3 instead of FFXIII-2 CE for the Xbox 360.

Thinking that the novel was actually a pre-order bonus, I tell my friend maybe it'll be easier to contact corporate CS instead of going to a store to exchange. He doesn't understand why I'm so fascinated getting the novel, so I send an email to BB (using his order number, name and email - he was cool with it) asking about it. Then later on, I read the novel really wasn't really a pre-order bonus and it's available bundled with at least the CE copies of the game.

Lollipop Chainsaw preorder bonuses:

Amazon: Rockabilly outfit
Best Buy: Goth Girl and Foxy Funk outfits
Gamestop: Ash Williams outfit

That's Ash Williams from Evil Dead, not Mass Effect. :)
so you only get the case for Resident Evil: Revelations if you preorder from best buy online? not in store.....that kind of sucks.
Since I'm gonna wait on buying the game, I ordered the case only from BB for $5. The case shipped today!
