Pre-order Pre-owned

So apparently Game, which is the UK version of Gamestop, are trialing a scheme whereby people can pre-order a pre-owned game

I wonder if GS are keeping an eye on this, surely if it takes off the same thing will be done in the US ?

I mean if they guaranteed your preorder copy will be a copy that is flawless disc wise and with everything included, I guess it could be ok. Still though I would feel bad taking money off the developers who deserve it.

This will really piss off every single game publisher. Yeah, we all kind of know that used copies of new games can be had for about $45 a couple of weeks after release, but this is pretty much rubbing it in the developer's faces.

Gamestop already does this to an extent, though only with currently released titles. They allow you to 'reserve' a copy of a game that's showing in stock at a nearby store for in-store pickup.

While not 100% the same, the concept is similar.
