So I have a CR-48 coming with a busted screen (thanks to djratchet for the trade!). Since you can't get replacement screens for these guys I'd like to turn it into some sort of project. These things have tiny motherboards (About 8" x 4"), so the obvious idea is wire it up into something cool.
My current idea is to make a WiiPC. That is, a computer inside the shell of a Wii. I could stick in a slimline DVD drive and wire up the USB ports and card slot. The coolest part is that I could even get the GameCube controller ports to work, but due to the cost/time of creating/buying a USB to GameCube controller adapter I'd probably just do one. I'd like to modify the outside of it as little as possible. The end goal would be to get Windows running on it and load up some emulators.
Anyway, that's the current idea I'm thinking of, but I'd love some suggestions, either for the WiiPC or for a completely different project.
