Event Start Date: 12-16-2010
Event End Date: 12-31-2010

http://asia.playstation.com/home/hk/en/event/d/27231

Some info from the link.

As you arrive at Home Square, you will be amazed at the peaceful night time ambience and greeted by a huge Christmas tree (16th-31st December) [And, surprise! SECRET auto rewards from six publishers (NIPPON ICHI SOFTWARE INC., Q-Games Ltd, IREM, SCE-LocoRoco and SCE-GT) will be distributed randomly when you arrive at Home Square. These include special virtual T-shirts and PlayStation® console, a most suitable and new piece of furniture for your apartment, and many more. Remember to come back every day to collect them all!]

Then, go to the Sea Side Deck in Home Square and you will be teleported to a limited time lounge“Winter Wonderland”.

As we enter a new year on 1st January, 2011, the big Christmas tree will be replaced by a jumbo kagami-mochi, or a Japanese rice cake (until 13th January), announcing the arrival of a brand new year. To thank you for visiting the Home Square you will receive auto rewards from SCE at Home Square, again, you will only know what they are when you get them!
You're supposed to get a free item when you hear the bells after enterin' the Home Square. I heard the bells but didn't get anything even after reinstallin' Home. Oh well.

You'll still be able to open all of the presents under the tree. Only the rewards from past games are gone unless they decide to restart them after the event is finished like last year.

Thanks :( I really wanted that spiral tree, heh. Maybe they will cycle the elf games.

I guess I completely missed this event last year.

PS Home 2nd Anniversary shirts (2M/2F) -
These shirts are avaialble in the NA Home from the Community Theater.
It should be at the bottom of the Featured Spaces list under the Tester 2 Theater.

@dyeknom
They just had a regular free Xmas tree last year in the plaza.

JP Server - finally got in on one of the Christmas events - "The Third Birthday" - the event structure is pretty boring. :( (Last year's stuff was better I feel.) Had a minigame at the end - presents falling from the sky and everyone had to run to the landing spot (marked with a star) - that was ok. Managed to get a box for it, now waiting for the Disgaea (sp?) event. Don't think I'll do well with that one -- it's a quiz. :/ I'm guessing the boxes unlock on Christmas. Hopefully I'll get in on the ACB event. Thanks again for the info, Novakane!

Update - correction, that was the Loco Roco event at 10:00 EST am I just attended. The quiz was one question, and they had big circles on the ground in Central Plaza (area right below the arcade) -- circle color matches the answer. Just run to the circle where EVERYONE is standing and you're good. They give you plenty of time too. Super, super easy. The Disgaea event is @ 11:00 EST am and that's it for today. Schedule for Sunday (12/18) if anyone cares (EST Times):

2:00 am EST - Gran Turismo 5
3:00 am EST - Dynasty Warriors Online
4:00 am EST - School students hope and despair Danganronpa
5:00 am EST - 3 Valkyria
6:00 am EST - Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
7:00 am EST - Portable Dream Club
8:00 am EST - Monster 3rd
9:00 am EST - Arcana 3
10:00 am EST - F Graces
11:00 am EST - Shooter PixelJunk 2
REVISED - SEE POST 1044 below

Going to add that I definitely don't dig the time schedules for this years event - everything is super early AM for North American users, but I guess pretty convenient for everyone in Japan. Hopefully, they extend the event like they did last year (crossing fingers).

Oh yeah, got the pig - thanks NovaKane for the great instructions!

Thanks for the time translations. The events will continue throughout next week too for anyone that still wants to get free stuff! The updated schedule, quiz answers and instructions on what to do for mini-games are all at the link from one of my earlier posts (post #1009). There are 16 events/gift boxes total when you add the Irem and PS Move events. Those are included in the link as well.

I managed to get 9 so far. I definitely agree with you about the times though. Way too early for us, but probably a lot more convenient for ppl in JP. And yeah, the events themselves are pretty borin' this year too. The prizes better be worth it though lol.

Glad you got your pig too! I was hopin' my instructions made sense for anyone that tried to get it.

Ok - going back and modifying my post -- I was working off an old print out of the schedule so those times might be wrong. Definitely didn't get in on the Disgae event today because I thought it was at 25:00 (11:00 am EST), but it was 26:00. Misread the schedule. Right now have 4 giftboxes, so glad they extended the schedule so I can get some more (instead of staying up all morning tonight for them). Thanks for the head's up!

Any tips on getting perfect pictures for the ski mini game? I just want the yeti suit.

I won the Yeti costume by focusing only on taking pics. Just aim for the camera icons, go in a straight line towards the camera targets, and try to hit X as you hit the center of the camera targets. Your 3 Yeti icons should be green.

Jera, Nova, is there a good place to get directions of the minigame? I'm trying to comb through the IREM thread on playstation.com...

JP Server - just got back from the Arcana 3 event. Screwed up the event mini game, and didn't get the box. :( Basically, it was a version of Red Light/Green Light - if you dont stop when they say stop, they reset you. You have to get to the present by the arcade stairs to win. I made it and was waiting for the clock to stop, and I accidentally moved with 10 secs on the clock, and it reset me. :( Arrrrrrrrggghhh....oh well. Also accidentally slept thru the Assassin's Creed Brotherhood event...sigh. It's the only one I really wanted....at least I have one more try before the event totally ends.

Good luck with the rest of the events. I have three more to do this week. Would've been two more, but one didn't load properly. I didn't realize it until after the startin' time. Two of the events involve the "cake defense" game which I haven't played yet. The translated instructions are pretty rough at the link too lol. I hope I get it on the first try.

I was at one of the cake defense games with no clue what was going on, but the other people did. If everyone else defends the cake from the reindeer from eating it, you can actually run around like a fool (like me) or stand there, and still win the prize. It may be like that for the pointing games also? The prize-catching games are a lot easier to understand and remember to cheer when reaching the present in the stop-and-go games. Iissed out on the Macross stamp card in the Theater last week though...

Edit: You were dead on about the cake defense. I didn't have to do anything to get the prize. Good thing everyone else knew where the boxes were because I had no idea where to look lol.

With the Arcana / Valkyria event game once you’ve reached the present celebrate to get the Game Clear come up ( R1 4th option down then 3rd option down & if your avatar is male then it should jump up & punch the air - took me a few goes to find it & I think the female animation may be different ). I just did this with my 2nd attempt at Arcana & got Game Clear to come up with 2mins+ left and received the item.

To make the Yeti picture taking even easier, use the rocks and the walls to slow yourself so you go through the camera target slowly and get centered as possible.

I was at another one of the Reindeer Defense games (for the Castlevania show). This time, people had less of a clue of what was going on. Some of the presents were behind the giant Santa House (opposite end of where the other games take place). I found two present boxes, the first one I cheered at and the present disappeared. The next one I cheered at again, and it did nothing and the reindeer eventually ate it because other Homelings just sat and watched. So I still have no idea what to do. We still got the prize because 4 out of 5 presents were saved. Maybe, as long as one present is saved, you can clear the game?

And I saw Jera earlier in the night!

If you were able to get the other three, those two should still be available. For the red one, do the Rock dance on the dance floor. Do any dance for the black one.
Is it still possible to get the platinum trophy t shirt im from the UK.
If I remember correctly, that shirt was just for NA Home.
Since it lets you send gifts to friends, should we set up a thing for trading our free ones with each other?
I'm down. How do you want to set this up?

Not sure how. Someone posts they are in, someone else claims them as their partner and says what item to get them using the free tokens, exchange PSN tags, add each other, send item.

I am intrigued by the gift sending idea. Once you send it, your account will not retain any copy right?

Well, I have a long day ahead of me today, need to catch up on the Japanese events, which means that I will have to do all 14 events correctly. Any of the events that might be slightly hard?

There are 6 type of games. Catch the falling present, quizzes, cheering, red light green light, run around and pointing, and protecting presents from being eaten by super-deformed reindeer. The first three are the easiest. First, run to the star where the present will land before it reaches there. For the quizzes, just follow the crowd. Third, the cheering game, you just need 20 people in the space to be cheering, I think (hit R1 button, 4 down on the menu, then 3 down).

Onto the harder ones - red light green light game, its a count down, just listen to the pitch in order to hear when you have to stop walking toward the present. It gets higher and higher when the timer counts down. Just stop before it counts down completely, and repeat until you reach the present. Then remember to cheer (game will end as soon as this happens, you don't have to wait for the counter to reach zero). Play it conservatively if needed. You have 2 minutes or more, which is plenty of time even if you mess up and get reset.

I am still fuzzy on the reindeer and pointing games. There are presents strewn around the Santa house that you have to find and point to or cheer near. For the reindeer defense game, just make sure he doesn't eat all the presents. For the pointing one, just try to point to all the spots that you find. You can do nothing and still get the present box if others in the crowd win the game for you.

I got all the present boxes on the first try with help from posts. Check NovaKane and Jeradjai's posts (#1042 & 1044) on the previous page for help on the schedule and the PS Home Japan Wiki (which has confusing but translations but answers to the quizzes). Lastly, remember to get to JP server's Home Square early enough beforehand so that you can download the event. If you have a faster connection, 10 minutes before might be enough.

Merry Christmas Home CAG's.
