There is now a Chinese New Years quest available on the Activity Board. The reward for completion is a dragon companion. According to the blog, it's going to be the largest companion on Home.

i hope its not another 'group' activity requirement

Pretty alright homecast rewind patio furniture (umbrella & table set, chair) available in the community theatre today most people are saying it took about ten mins to unlock. Also got a disgaea lounge visit souvenir tshirt at the disgaea lounge just for popping in.
Nope, just a regular, solo quest.
Actually, the last part of the Chinese Dragon quest does require a friend...which is absolutely annoying since no one on my friends list uses Home anymore. Luckily someone on the PS forums posted a way to bypass the friend requirement.

1. Get quest
2. Go to 1st floor of Mall
3. Go to Dragon Poster towards the back - opposite of the entrance
4. Go to Pier Park
5. Go to Dragon Poster on brick wall on the right side near entrance
6. Go back to Hub
7. Go to the dance floor with friend

^ If you don't have friend continue below

8. Go back to activity board and cancel the quest
9. Exit the activity board
10. Get the quest again
11. Repeat 1-5
12. Go back to Hub via Navigator
13. Wait like 5-15 minutes

Note: After #12 I was idle and left to go do something. When I came back I noticed the quest update saying that I got the dragon. Not sure if you have to be idle or go back to the dance floor or whatnot but quitting the quest and doing it over will work to get the dragon by yourself.

The dragon posters aren't always dragons (or the same end). They may have other ads displayed on them. If you walk up to the right one, it should give you the pop up with the clue.

Lockwood is locked again.

I have that same problem, none of the people I've met on Home in the past use it anymore so I can't complete any quests that require friends since I don't want to bother them while they're in the middle of a game.

Just go hang out on the dance floor other people have the same problem so everyone just adds people right then and there. That is how I have completed all of these "friend" quests. We just add each other, then delete each other after we get the reward. Everyone is pretty cool about it. Even after I got mine I hung around for a bit and helped a couple others by letting them add me.

If that fails btw and anybody just really needs a hand feel free to add my psn id: smokingpistol ill be on probably for the next few hours at least. Just tell me whats up when you add me :)

FYI - Regarding a lot of confusion over the Chinese New Years Quest:

 1. You DO NOT need to have anyone on your friends list to complete the quest and get the dragon.
 2. You DO NOT need to dance to get the reward.
 3. You DO NOT need to even be on the dance floor - just be anywhere in the Hub.
 4. You DO NOT need to clear the cache to get the reward.
 5. You DO NOT need to restart Home to get the reward.

OK, so the reason there is so much confusion is that the final Quest Info message (thus the reward) is randomly given out each time you enter the Hub after completing the second objective (finding the poster in Pier Park).

Not only that, but while the clue for the final objective suggests you have to be on the dance floor and be dancing with friends - none of that is true. I've tested it out on several accounts.

All of this has led to a vast amount of specualtion on what exactly you have to do to complete it.

And the reason some people are claiming clearing the cache and or restarting Home is how to get it is that doing either of those means leaving and re-entering the Hub - so save your time and just nav in and out of the Hub.

After testing out various theories, the final objective completion is randomly given out each time you visit the Hub after locating the poster in Pier Park. In one case, I got the reward on my first visit. In other cases it took over a dozen visits to the Hub to get it. Also, I suggest with each visit, hangout for about a minute. Sometimes the reward was given out immediately, other times it didn't pop up until about a minute after entering the Hub.

YMMV

I can confirm you don't need anyone in your party to get the Dragon. I was just dancing away at the Hub and it took a while but when some Rock song popped on I got the notification, maybe around 10 minutes max hanging out there.

Not sure how many people use hk home but starting today there is a event to find and catch Mr. Money God. He comes twice a day for an hour each time and if you find and touch him you will receive a gold ingot wall hanging and receive a psn voucher in your email after the event for usable store ca$h. Pretty cool gesture so i thought you guys may like this. Theres also a statue in the main square that will reward you the dragon companion and all the new years hagoita just for clicking it no quests dancing or hubs involved ;) good luck guys!

Ok, I kind of feel like and idiot for asking, but... I am working on the Home Memories Tour quest. I brought two friends to theater 1 and was told to return to the Hub. I am now at the Hub and am lost. Do I need to have two friends with me here as well? Any help? Thanks.

Yes, but they don't have to be the same friends. Although its fastest to match up with the other people at the theater and go together to each space in the quest. But you can always just ask people to temporarily add you at each space. Just be sure to tell them why. I suspect most people will ignore random friend requests.

@Digital-Nitrate
That didn't seem to be the issue on my part. Instead of going in and out of the Hub several times, I just stayed there for a good 45 minutes to an hour before I received the companion.

Don't know if it was given to me at random. Otherwise I'd suggest everyone to just stay in the Hub and you'll eventually receive your companion. But, like I said, I'm not quite sure if it were random on my part.

@Smokingpistol
Thanks for sharing, I don't exactly use HK regularly. Just when the US server's traffic gets overwhelming. I'm quite surprised at how empty HK is most of the time, lol.
There is a PlatinumD trophy t-shirt reward in Theater 6.
It will unlock at the end of the episode, takes about 5 minutes.
Thanx for the heads up...

Anyone understand how to get "HL" in Disgaea 4 lounge in order to cash in for the rewards? I have played the game cabinets and they did not reward any HL. I am guessing maybe that card game, but I have not been able to get 3 people at a table to find out.

I think all of the games in Disgaea 4 lounge give you HL in my experience the card tables reward the most. Also there is a quiz game that is pretty easy to rack up the points.( I eather just stand on one letter or follow the person who seems to know all the answers)

Thanks!

BTW: In addition to the shirt, I was rewarded the HomeCast Rewind beach table with umbrella and beach chair:

These may have been a previous reward, but if so I had not heard of it.

Damn Casino, games froze twice on me today, once on a $200 bet in blackjack and in texas hold 'em where i had already eliminated 3 other players and there were only 2 players left. if i paid real money for this, i would be really pissed, waste of time and effort.

I did not get these, and I also don't think I got them before...

I think I am gonna give up on the Dragon in home, I have tried dancing for hours(up to 4 at a time) and leaving and coming back(either by being kicked out of home, or just leaving the space) and still no dragon. Yea I'm done. lol Gonna go play Shadow of the Colossus or something.

The Homecast Chair and Table are given in Community Theater not PlatinumD theater. Try going there and you should get them.
Yea you are trying to take advantage of an exploit and it isn't working, just do it the right way and it will work, just add 2 people in the hub dance floor and then dance, will come up within 5-10 minutes maybe immediately
Sorry, but it's random. Plenty of people, including my self and several HCV tested out inviting 2 friends and it DID NOT change the odds of getting the Dragon. Dont waste time worrying about friends, dancing, or being on the dance floor. Seeing as it is random, sometimes you'll get it right away, sometimes, as in the case of Candy, it can take several visits to the Hub. Good luck!

Just to make sure something had not changed with the Quest, I just created a new account, and got the dragon after six 1min visits to the Hub.... no friends, no dancing... just kept re-entering the Hub.

is there a guide to using the playstation home thing? im new to ps3 and when i walk into that room or start out in it im very confused lol

Shinn, check out yourpshome.net and alphazone4.com those will tell you all of the rewards and how to get them. Check under both rewards and under free stuff, because the rewards you get through games/activities/etc. but there are also listed free items in the stores on Home.

i have loged in to the hub 5 times a day for 15min at a time since the quests started. I dont care for the reward since its the ugliest dragon I have ever seen..its just on principal now that I want to finish..I guess im just unluckey

Amen!!! But that thing is not just ugly its big and ugly and annoying. But I had to have it because its limited time and its free. You know I always thought those companions were cool, now that I've not 4 of them for free its kinda less cool.

For the most part, the Home interface is fairly intuitive, but there is a built-in tutorial designed for new users, as well as a fairly comprehensive help menu.

Next time you log into Home, in case you may have missed it the first time, press the START button (this will open up your Home PDA device) and select Settings, then Personal, then select Reset Tutorial.

This will automatically transport you to your Harbor Studio, and will begin showing you pop up messages guiding you through a basic tutorial on how to use Home.

If after doing the tutorial, you have questions, and or want to learn about some of the more advanced settings, options and features in Home, press the START button to open your PDA, then select "Help".

Don't bother with the first option (Online Manual) as that is just part of the System Software User Guide - which you can access via the web, and as far as Home goes, it only really describes what it is and how to download it.

However, everything else will give you detailed information about most of the settings, options, and features in Home.

That said, completing the tutorial and exploring the menus should be enough to teach you the basics of using Home.

Welcome aboard, and have fun!
New quest coming this Wednesday:

https://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/01/23/yetis-vs-hunters-invades-playstation-home-this-wednesday/

Hopefully it is better than the quest for dragon companion. Fishing game seems fun, the FREE apartment for catching all the fishes is very tempting but do have to buy the space though.

By the way, did the European Home got Winter Quest part 2 and 3? Done the part 1 and was listed as (1/3) but that is it, does not seem to have more parts to it.
Actually you read that wrong, the quest is for Groundhog's Day and you get a groundhog companion for completion. The Yeti thing may end up being a quest, but it also may be a thing similar to Dead Island, Killzone, Uncharted 3 type challenges. Either way thanks for the report both should be good events.

I cannot get it to unlock either and I have wasted many hours dancing, inviting friends, etc. They should just give it to everyone that has that quest on their list as being active since there is no other reason for it to not be completed.

Edit:
Looks like they fixed the quest now as I just gave it another try and it popped up instantly after adding two randoms in the dance hubs.

Too late for me, I tried cancelling it to restart the quest at about 12:03 AM last night to figure out that 00:00 on 1/23 meant basically 00:01 and not 23:59. Great, now I can't complete it no matter what.
