Any 5400rpm 2.5" SATA laptop drive should work. Please note that the system takes a larger percentage of the HDD based on size, so you will not get 100% of the space on the HDD to use.

No it shouldn't matter. But just be forewarned that the screws they used with the hard drives on the PS3's are a pain in the ass to get out and may end up stripped by the time you get them out to swap out the HDD.

I literally was in the same situation last week. I have a 60GB PS3 and was looking to upgrade. I just switched it out for this one a few days ago.

It runs great and is nice and quiet. Really all you need is any 5400 RPM 2.5 inch drive. The link is actually a SATA drive which is what you need, it is mislabeled on the site as an ATA.
