Ok, i bought a second hand PS3 40gig and noticed that the fans would spin at full speeds when the system was not under load and thought this was a little strange.
After doing some research online i saw that replacing the thermal paste that sony uses with some Arctic Silver 5 may resolve this issue a little.
I folowed some tutorials and replaced the thermal paste with the AC5 but this made the matter worse because unlike before my system is now overheating and shutting down.
is there anybody which could give me some advice to what i may have done wrong to help me resolve this matter please? i can answer any questions people may ask.
