PS4 hard drive upgrade deals

Looking for a hard drive with at least 1 Tb with 5400 rpm sata II compatibility for the ps4. It doesn't look like I can deviate from those specifications. Anyone else looking to upgrade too on launch?

I'm also considering buying used. Anyone else here bought a used hard drive before?

It's 1TB with 5400 RPM. The promo code you receive from their newsletter (EMCWWXW26) knocks it down to $60.

The deal is even better if you're one of the few states that don't get taxed.

Yeah, I wish there were more options for HDs that are bigger than 1 TB. 

I contemplated purchasing the same 1.5 TB HD, but the price difference just didn't seem worth it at the moment.

So I ended up buying the 1.5 tb hard drive with prime shipping (big factor especially where I live). Wish it was a bit cheaper but I don't mind the price overall for the space. Thanks for the help!

Not that impressive. A good 7200RPM drive, such as a WD Scorpio Black, gives a reasonable performance boost over the stock 5400RPM drive. Larger cache will help on the Scorpio Black. If the files aren't in the hybrid SSD portion of the drive, it'll still have to hit the 5400RPM mechanical drive for the data and be slow.

The PS4 being SATA2 or SATA3 should see a performance boost from any recent drive that's SATA2 or SATA3. A SSD might even be a huge benefit to a PS4, though you'd need to spend $500 on a drive like a Crucial M500 960GB to get any reasonable space increase on the 500GB drive in the PS4.
