Can someone tell me the subject line of the email for E3 rewards? I still haven't gotten mine and want to search my email just in case (even though i don't see it). Also, was it a code you needed to enter? Or should it show up automatically in my account?

Crimsonland is awesome, I beat all the quests on normal mode. Dat Colin doe said that this game ain't better than Dead Nation, hahahah wat a nub. Crimsonland pwns Derp Nation. I've actually been on Crimsonland more than on Destiny beta
I've only got the last three Quests to do perfect runs on, got perfects on the rest (normal difficultly). Hardest so far was Brood Mother. Boy, I remember thinking Spideroid was hard, lol. My current mission has spideroids and green bugs that fire... though I almost perfect'd it already but made a silly mistake with like 20 bugs left (doh).

I have not even booted up the Destiny beta, despite absolutely loving the alpha, because I'm so addicted to crimsonland. It's such a solid, solid dual stick shooter.

I'm playing Resogun and keep losing a human usually during the middle of the level. I'm not sure if I'm not killing enemies fast enough or my multiplier drops but I'll see the box highlighted and them jumping and then he'll die inside the box and it turns red. Usually I'm killing enemies all around the human so can someone explain this? Otherwise I'm having a lot of fun testing out the different ships and stuff.
Frisky already answered this, but yeah, some of them have 'secret' requirements. It's usually multiplier based (as in, have a certain multiplier by the time it's supposed to release). Perfect runs of any given level should usually free all humans.

"An exclusive reward just for you"

It's a code that you enter on a special page on the Sony Rewards site.

Can someone tell me if Grand Theft Auto looks and plays well on the Vita? I loved both games on the PSP but want to know if they still hold up on the Vita.
I have both but haven't tried them yet... in my experience all psp games look and play great on vita, though. The screen resolution is a perfect ratio (x4 iirc) so there's no problem there, and control mapping can even improve a game's controls. If you enjoyed them on the psp, I'd say pick them up.

Thanks. Hmm. Not in my email for my psn account, and not in my SR email account either. I guess I need to call sony. I hate calling them about $3.50, but this is psn credit we're talking about.

Might & Magic: Duel of Champions Forgotten Wars
PS3 — Digital

If this was for vita it would be a buy.  But ps3... pass.  Anyone know if it's any good.

Their tweet does say Moon Landing Anniversary at the end. ;)
Ha. Indeed. Didn't notice the hashtags.

-Affa, Gamestop is giving away a $5 credit that can be used toward PSN codes. Some consolation for your elusive "E3 credit", lol.

MORE DESTINY BETA CODES:

(PS3):

M798-ERNJ-NBHD
9DKA-ELN2-8C3J

(PS4):

4N7N-QNNH-KG4N
8LQR-MTN6-KFJ4

Did they mention there's no cross-buy in the blogcast, or what are you basing this on?
There were other cross-buy items in the blog post and they specifically said 'cross-buy' after them if appropriate. R&C did not.

Like so:

Le Tour De France — Season 2014

PS4 — Digital (Already Available on PS3, Cross Buy)
There were multiple questions about it but no answer, either, which is in itself somewhat telling.

Might & Magic: Duel of Champions Forgotten Wars
PS3 — Digital

Enter the legendary universe of Might & Magic with Duel of Champions Forgotten Wars, the online strategy card game. Choose your hero and assemble an army to attack fierce opponents on the battleground. Play your creatures, spells, fortunes, buildings, and events wisely to unleash killer combos and gain the upper hand.

would of been great on the vita. then again print might been way too small

I guess me and slidecage have similar tastes in games. I don't know what to make of that.

Alright, sorry, more Persona 4 thoughts. I'm nearing what must be the end.

- I dislike it when games basically require a guide for the "true ending". Up to this point I've avoided them (except for quiz answers, lol). But everyone always says you'll need the guide to know what choices to make at a certain juncture. Ugh.

- I wish your social circle showed up on the map. Why the fuck should I have to run around looking for someone only for them to not be available that day?

- This is probably one of the most Japanese games I've played. I know it's nothing deep but I've learned a lot. What I can't understand is why these characters look White. Yes, I'm somewhat familiar with the history of anime etc. but it really is strange and disappointing to see the characters drawn in this manner. Especially when the in-game models look Asian...

- I wish the Persona management menu allowed you to compare what powers/abilities your personas currently have with your potential new fusions. I'm working off memory and I've created quite a few redundancies.

- Why the fuck are half the activities not available when it rains? You'd think with the amount of rain Japan gets people would have adjusted.

- Marie is still terrible.

Spent a couple hours going through my transaction history on PSN and putting the games in a spreadsheet (there were some games I had completely forgotten I got free with PS+ like DmC). If you go to purchase history instead of download list it tells you which games are PS+ games by listing an expiration date, though it doesn't always list which system it is for so you have to alternate between it and the download list . In the process I got annoyed all over again by the amount of PS+ games which are the vita/PS4 version only that I would like to play on the PS3 (Strider, Stranger's Wrath, etc.), damn you lack of crossbuy.

Interesting read and I appreciate you sharing it. I've considered many of those points before and it's why I don't give most anime a hard time. It's all idealized and ridiculous. What's odd about Persona 4, however, are the obvious lengths the developers went to to make the world "authentic". The names. Setting. And like I said, if you look closely, some of the in-game models have a darker complexion and other defining Japanese characteristics (that isn't to say all Japanese look one way). Yet when their dialogue portraits pop on the screen or it goes to cutscene, they honestly look white to me. And I'm pretty sure I don't consider whiteness "the default". It just sort of removed me from the experience. Like, I want to believe these people are in Japan, lol, but really? Nanoko looks like little Annie down the street. Ehh idk.

So I've perfected all quests in Crimsonland besides 6.10.   Holy crap.

I haven't beat 6.10 yet (I restart as soon as i get hit), but does anyone know if you get a weapon that... I don't know, kills everything on the screen everytime you hit the trigger?  Because sans that, I can't even get my head around how to begin to perfect 6.10.

Starts out with several spideroids and a brood mother... which would be bad enough, except then it gets crazy and spawns laser spiders, endless zombie spawners, a bunch mores spideroids.   I imagine just beating this level is an accomplishment, perfecting... ugh.  The massive hoard of zombies and spiderlings is enough to make perfect hard, let alone a dozen or so things firing lasers at you at any given time.

Anyway, for those of you who beat it, is it worth doing that first for some super weapon that makes perfecting this level a bit more reasonable?

Well Marge Simpson is white because there are black characters, and Mexican characters, and Asian characters, etc. in the show. It takes place in America, and that shade of yellow is the most dominant skin tone in the town as white was the far dominant race at the time the show began in 1989 (white made up over 80% of the population in 1990). Celebrities playing themselves is also a staple of the show, white actors have that same shade of yellow.

I also have to call bullshit on the author discounting hair color from the "anime characters drawn as not Japanese" argument as black is the natural hair color of 99% of Japanese people.

Um, I'm at the point where the game told me to save because shit was about to go down, lol. It's been foggy for like a week. I figure this is what everyone is referring to when they say you need a guide.
The dungeon you completed last would probably be the best way to tell how far you are, but Persona 4 is notorious for giving you a number of potential outs to end early if you bite on those false paths. [customspoiler='Spoilers']Just remember that you're MC is there for a full year, so things don't really end until he leaves town.[/customspoiler]

And about your dislike of there not being info about who is available each day, there's a feature that lets you know what others have done on that day that can be a good guide for what you can do if you don't have a specific plan.

I played them on XBox360. I'm not sure I'd be happy with the controls but I did such a quick run through for both and always wanted to replay them both with more time to do all the missions. Not sure if it's something I'd like or not on Vita.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/07/20/the-drop-new-playstation-games-for-7222014/

Here's The Drop for this week:

Looks like there's no Cross Buy for the Ratchet & Clank collection like the Sly and Jak collections.
Wow. Love me some R&C. Didn't realize they the collection would be coming to Vita. Looks like I might need to dust it off and burn some PSN credit.

Would really like to commit to one console/brand this generation. My head and my heart say Sony (aforementioned love of R&C, Sony's past bounty of JRPGs, guaranteed release of No Man's Sky), but my relatives/buddies say Microsoft.

Oh, what a terrible first world problem to have.

Apple's policy just gave them a lame excuse to remove the season pass on all platforms... I think it's Farsight greed more than 'fairness'. Why offer a season pass from day one when they can get $5 per table from diehard/impatient/naive buyers. I still haven't decided whether I'll even give them $30 at the end of season 3 or just be happy with my S1/S2... not impressed with the S3 table selection... if they'd offered the season pass at the start I probably would have made the blind buy.
Farsight has admitted to dropping their Season Pass at a discount at the beginning of the season's release because of the Apple crap. Now I'll just wait till they have an inevitable sale on Season 3 before they get another nickel from me, especially since you only get 1 table per update. Joke.

Those of you that are on the fence about Nocturne, get it, amazing ride.

But that's not what you said. You didn't clarify that you only have a ps3, your statement was blanket about ps+ as a whole, and you said:

"I think were finally starting to see Sony pull back a bit in regards to its PS+ offerings, which in all honesty, is something I fully expected to happen eventually."

which makes it sounds like you're not only passing judgement, but one of those people who constantly tells us how it's going to get worse.

Now, sure, if you're talking just about ps3... but in that case, um... well... yeah? They obviously moved some of their purchasing budget from ps3 to ps4. That didn't require a prediction, that was a given. And guess what? In a few years, there may not be ANY games for ps3 on ps+ anymore, because it's no longer current gen. This shouldn't be a shocker.

That's not "pull(ing) back a bit" from their offerings. That's adjusting to 2014, now that they (and their customers like us) have shifted into support for the ps4 and ps3 is taking a backseat. As with anything else, they have a budget, and they need to use it effectively.

PS3 only users are still getting quite a few games though, especially when you consider that often in addition to the main 2 there might be crossbuy titles listed for ps4 or vita.

That's exactly when I caved. I had really wanted to play Uncharted GA (loved it, too) and that announcement plus the black friday sale at that time was an easy buy. I had worried it would end up dusty like my psp did... but instead Vita is my primary gaming platform now. So good.
Nothing I said the 2nd time around changes anything I said the first time around. I shouldn't have to clarify what systems I own, which I wound up doing anyways, to give my opinion of PS+ and its simply common sense that PS+ is a better deal for people that own more systems and that goes for owning both PS3 and PS4 as much as it does owning a console and a handheld. Its the same on the Xbox Side. You get more value if you own both a Xbox 360 and an XBox One. Of course, its also common sense that the majority of PS+ subscribers are buying it for the console side of PS+. Given, Sony wont share the overall number of PS+ subscribers, but they have shared the rate of growth a few times and it would be impossible to have a continued rate of growth like PS+ has seen if Sony were getting most of its PS+ subscribers from the handheld side. Even without the numbers, all people need to do is compare sales numbers of PS3 to that of Sony's handhelds to come to the realization that the VAST majority of people buying PS+ are doing so for the consoles side of PS+. So when people talk generally about the PS+ service, I would expect them to be talking about the console side. I would only expect them to clarify if they were in fact talking about the handheld side of the service. Maybe thats just me, but thats the way I see it. When I see people talk about PS+, I automatically assume they are speaking towards the consoles side unless they specifically state they are talking about the handheld side and I made my post using those same assumptions.

Yes, my statement was a blanket statement on PS+, and it still is, as even if the quality remains high on the handheld side, which I really have no idea if it is or not as I don't follow the handheld side, the quality of the service as a whole is still going down if the quality on the console side is dropping. While there are different offerings on PS+, its still a singular service. There is not PS+ for PS3 and a PS+ for Vita and a PS+ for PSP. They are not separate services. Its a singular service that has different offerings, which is exactly why it becomes a better value if you have more systems. Not to mention, given that the VAST majority of PS+ subscribers are buying it for the console side....well, that makes the service FAR FAR more weighted on the console side in regards to the overall quality and value of the service as a whole. So even if the value on the handheld side is exceedingly high, the overall value of the service, as a whole, is still largely dictated by the console side. Basically, if the handheld side had absolutely amazing offerings and the consoles side completely sucked a*s....well, sorry to say but the overall view of the service would be that it sucked a*s. It would not be the other way around. Wether you like it or not, PS+ is largely console driven and has gotten its amazing rep mainly from the console side.

I post on these forums very infrequently, especially this time of year as I am in my busy season with photography. I only work from mid April to mid September and then have the rest of the year off. Its nice, but I pay for it by working 80-100 hour weeks during my busy months. So no offense but sticking me into any group that constantly tells people anything on these boards is ludicrous at best. In order to constantly tell people something on a forum, you would have to constantly post. I have made maybe 10 posts in the last 2-3 months so no offense, but I couldn't possibly care less what group of people you think my posts stick me in. And I absolutely was passing judgement. Anytime people critique something, they are passing judgement, wether they want to admit it or not. Do you even know what the definition of judgement is?

the ability to make considered decisions or come to sensible conclusions.

Even the people that run around these boards talking about how amazing PS+ is are passing judgement. 90% of whats done on movie and gaming forums could be considered passing judgement and yes, that includes my post about PS+. My opinion that PS+ has been dropping in overall quality is without question passing judgement. You cant comment on the service without doing just that. So yes, I was passing judgement. Again, its impossible to give an opinion on PS+ without doing just that.

They moved a lot of their budget from PS3 to PS4? Really? Got any proof of that? Just what huge games have they released on the PS4 side that have sucked all of this money that you speak of from the PS3 side? Please, lol. Year one on the PS4 cost Sony very little in regards to their PS+ offerings on the PS4. They didn't even initiate the 2 game per month policy until June. As the PS4 installed base continues to grow, it is very likely that money will be shifted away from the PS3 and put towards the PS4 PS+ offerings, but that hasn't occurred yet. Sony would be utter morons to have done that so soon, when the PS4 installed base is still a fraction of the PS3 installed base and when Sony is still making FAR more off the PS3 than the PS4. Sony does some stupid things at times, but they aren't morons. Up to this point, the PS4 has had VERY little to do with anything regarding PS+ on the PS3 side. If you honestly believe differently, I have some great swamp land down in Florida to sell you.

So, let's look at the evidence with the games history and current PSN prices:

July 2012

  1. Gotham City Imposters (PS3) $14.99 (Price from GS since PSN doesn't offer this digitally anymore.)
  2. Pac-Man Championship Edition DX (PS3) - $9.99
  3. Renegade Ops (PS3) - $9.99

July 2013

  1. Battlefield 3 (PS3) - $19.99
  2. Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee HD (PS3) - $9.99
  3. Jet Set Radio (PS3) - $9.99
  4. Dokuro (Vita) - $2.99

July 2014

  1. Dead Space 3 (PS3) - $19.99
  2. Doki-Doki Universe (PS3/PS4/Vita) - $14.99
  3. Vessel (PS3) - $9.99
  4. Strider (PS4) - $14.99
  5. Towerfall Ascension (PS4) $14.99
  6. Muramasa Rebirth (Vita) $24.99

Now, you could potentially argue that the loss of the static IGC games was a loss in quality for PS+. I don't really agree, since my thought is that those games are only useful right when you join up. They entice new customers, but for existing ones they're worthless. It's a valid argument. Arguing whether the month-to-month value has dropped, though, I find questionable. Looking at the above games, I feel that the retail value of this year's July selection is quite a bit higher than last year or the year before. I'm not going to do enough research to see how much the games retailed for in 2012 and 2013, but here's the breakdown of current prices:

2012: $34.97
2013: $41.97

2014: $99.94

I'd say Battlefield 3 (2013) has probably dropped quite a bit since it was free on Plus, but no more than $20. That's still $40 behind this year's offerings, though. The other 2012 and 2013 titles I can't see being much different in price. If you want to do the research on this, please feel free. I'm satisfied that the value and offerings of this year's July offerings beat out the past two years and have trouble seeing a valid counter-argument unless I'm vastly underestimating the 2012 and 2013 game prices at the time.

Yes, it did. Your first post was a short blanket statement, and your second post changed almost all parameters of the discussion. If you can't even see that, there's really no point in discussing it with you. Even a 'Sorry, I guess I should have been more clear" would have been nice, but since you're doubling down on it, I guess that's not happening and I have no interest in continuing the conversation. Yes, if you only have a ps3 then ps+ benefits will slowly become less and less over the years. Shocker.

Lots of words.
God damn that's a lot of words.
More words.
I never used to be able to follow the arguments on the old thread because there would be a ton of random posts in the thread.

Now I can't follow the argument because each post is three pages long.

That's all I wanted to say. Resume whatever the discussion is about.

I'm going to go read a pdf to unsuccessfully learn how to play Resogun.

Do you guys think that all the bundles from 2 for 1 deal will be cheaper or free down the road

I think that it is very likely that you will be able to pick up the individual games for cheaper (or free) in the future, just not bundled.

A warning, it's not the full game. Persona 2 was split into two parts: the first is called Innocent Sin and this is the sequel to that. So if there are some gaps in the story that you don't catch onto it's because we didn't get Innocent Sin.

Why Atlus won't just translate the other Persona 2 game I don't know.

Josh-san, nan nensei desuka.

Persona 2: Innocent Sin is out on the PSP here, while Eternal Punishment is just the PS1 version since they didn't bring the remake of that over from Japan.
