Well, yeah, not understanding how to play something can do that. The instructions were obtuse but I eventually figured it out. And still hated it.

And how do I "tend to blame" games when I've only complained about falling asleep twice? If anything I'm searching for excuses instead of simply writing them off. Both are gorgeous ubiart projects. I think it has something to do with the storybook-like presentation. Had they been stimulating enough it would not have mattered how tired I was.

Valient Hearts at least has a comprehensible story with intelligible dialogue. Child of Light on the other hand...ehh. I'm sure I'll finish one day.

Those are the only two fan demographics that game caters to, why are you even considering it. You can PayPal me 8 bucks if you're just looking to pass it on. That being said, its a steal at 8 if you are a fighting game or DC fan.

Exactly. I don't understand people who buy games that won't like and aren't interested in just because they are cheap.
 
can someone who has played rogue legacy on pc sell it to me?  specifically, gameplay.  i've heard so much great stuff about the game, but when i look at youtube vids it just looks like it's not my genre.   i sometimes enjoy some combat platformers (guacamelee was cool) but i've never much been into the castlevania style of platformer (melee weapon, lots of enemies, etc).   i don't like most 2d platformers in general (except i fell in love with rayman on vita), though i sometimes like 3d platformers with other elements (ratchet, etc). 

i didn't really dig spelunky due to the heavy platforming, despite liking how precise it was.

one review i read said game can be beat in 10 hours another one said your going to spend at least 50 on it.. Like to know what one is more true.  Still tempted to buy it.   maybe tomorrow

its too bad on cross buys they just dont give you the codes and then you could sell the codes you dont want. But then again taht would cost sony money. I know i will never use the ps4 verison

that is what i though didnt know if it was the stream or my pc. For some freaking reason this new pc wont run the PC verison (demo) of it says it CAN NOT RUN on my system.

does the castle get bigger then that or is everything unlocked

It's the way OBS does things, as if you're not in the game, the screen will be black with music. So if I'm working on stream settings, it'll just show as black.

How does inFAMOUS Second Son compare with inFAMOUS 1 or 2? I've played a bit of Second Son and I'm enjoying it, but I'm somewhat tempted to trade it in to Gamestop while they still have their 50% promotion, use $10 to buy #1 or 2 on the Super Hero sale and pocket the last $20.

Infamous 1 is good, but a little rough with some pretty annoying gameplay design choices (enemy AI is very good with sniping you from even from across the map). The level design is kind of drab and it gets repetitive pretty quickly (having to go down to the sewers and getting a new power again and again). The side missions are also extremely repetitive since there's only like a handful of types and you have to play them over and over, but in a different area.

Infamous 2 is an improvement in pretty much every way. The enemy AI is improved to where it's not too easy, but it's also not cheap. The level design is much more inspired. The colorful New Marais beats the gray drabness of Empire City. You get more powers than just lightning and how you gain them and level them up is more varied than the first. There's also a better variety of side missions to reduce the repetitive feel from the first game.

All in all, I would say give Infamous 1 a spin at least for the story. It might be a bit rough gameplay wise compared to Second Son, but it's still fun. After that, move onto Infamous 2. It plays better than 1 and is beefier than Second Son as far as content.

Again, if you're not a fan of the source material OR even fighting games then NO. I'm enjoying the hell out of if, though! The outlandish super moves and environmental destruction make it worth it to me. Same goes for Persona 4 Arena. Probably more so in its case as the fighting is pretty technical, where as with Injustice novices won't have many issues.

Also, if you own it on PS3 it probably isn't worth the upgrade for just the graphical enhancements. I actually haven't played on PS3 but can't imagine there's much difference.

So speaking of Child of Light and its story that put me to sleep, the same guy wrote Far Cry 3. Obviously miles apart from each other, but I mention this because I was having a discussion this morning about FC3's story. I haven't actually played it but was looking forward to it based off an interview I watched with the writer. Much like the awesome Spec Ops, he talks about turning the genre on its head and subverting gaming conventions.

Thing is, just about everyone said the story is terrible, lol. Among other unflattering things. I am bummed over it because I was actually excited to try it (especially with Far Cry 4 on the horizon). I'm completely new to the series. Not sure if it's just the usual internet hyperbole but I was surprised by the amount of hate, lol. Hopefully we at least get it with plus like EU so I can see for myself without any risk.

Haha you mean because I was talking about it or that you disagree it's a bad story? If it's the former this took place on GAF, man, and you off all people know everything is dissected to death there. It's not like I woke up discussing this at home.

Anyway, like I said before, I hope people were exaggerating. Open worlds from a first person perspective never appealed to me so I was counting on the story to keep me hooked.

It unlocks at Midnight ET on Monday night. It just lets you download the game right now to save time.

No I feel you, I wasn't expecting to be moved or anything, lol. Far Cry has never interested me so I just didn't want to waste time. Again it's the first person perspective in an open world I don't like. I always switch when I play Elder Scrolls or Fallout games. I know Im weird.

Apparently FC3 is super violent/sexual and the guy says he wrote it this way to make a point about games. So I thought that was interesting enough to put aside my gripe about first person. But people posting about it earlier say it's like Duke Nukem levels of "moronic". Just find that hard to believe.

FC3 is worth playing. Too many people couldn't see through the 'easy' top layer read of 'white douchebag' going to remote island and becoming all powerful leader type over the 'poor natives' and jumped to judge it as some sort of shallow 'white savior/messiah' type story. However, imo the writer makes it obvious there's a deeper story there (with a very different reading), and in fact, the actual plot (and ending) make it pretty dang clear.

But not everyone likes, understands, and/or cares about deeper meanings and it's an easy target if you just want to attack it for stereotypes without considering the context of what's actually going on around and to him.

Also, remember it's first person and therefore everything is seen/heard through 'white douchebag' eyes (often on various drugs), but again, that's getting deeper than some people like to experience their entertainment.

Since you haven't played it yet, any deeper discussion would veer into spoiler land.

All in all, definitely worth playing imo. And the game itself is great. Blood Dragon is also great (though i haven't finished it yet) with similiar mechanics and a pure camp storyline.

its just too bad they did not allow people who preorder get it, get it a day early

I played all 3. I liked the first one's environment better then the second. I actually just finished a playthrough of Infamous 1 last night. I hadn't played in years. Got all the remaining trophies accept the one for collecting all the shards.

I am thinking about buying the second one with the sale though.

Second Son looks really good but lacks a bit with its side missions for a 2014 game. Took a week and a day for me to get the platinum.

If you extend your sub after downloading those games, the expiration date isn't updated, so it goes by the current date when the game is downloaded. When it expires, you just have to start it up to renew the license and it'll have the current date.

 
Looks like the PS Play 2014 games are also available for pre-loading on PS3, so anybody that pre-ordered them primarily for PS3 can set that up via the Download List on the XMB.

I wouldn't call FC3s story bad as much as inconsequential. The game encourages you to explore the island and ignore story missions a lot of the time. Which is fine because that part is what makes the game loads of fun. Don't listen to those telling you to skip it and play Blood Dragon. I enjoyed the main game a lot more even though there is a lot of campy fun to be had in BD.
