Lets just move on buddy! I'm sure there will be other points of healthy arguments in the future. But with PAX here this weekend, there will be tons of great gaming news to talk about, like that new 3DS and 3DS XL with a faster CPU, longer battery life, 2nd analog stick, 2 more shoulder buttons from Nintendo.
Ha, I'm good bro. Just didn't want anyone to think I wouldn't try a game because it's indie. Or that I was baiting arguments about it.

Yeah, we talked about the new 3DS in the other thread. Needless to say I was one of only a few actually excited about it, lol, but I don't mind these kind of incremental updates. Apple does it with their devices. Hell, I would have welcomed a new Vita with extra shoulder buttons in lieu of the god awful touchpad. I think it's a smart move.

It's disappointing I can't sell my current XL yet without losing my digital games, though. Say what you will about Vita, but network functionality is where it puts the 3DS to shame. Stuff like cross-buy/save and cloud-syncing. Digital licensing. Party chat. Considered buying Super Mario Bros. 3 last week and could not believe the Wii U version was a separate download. Sony really has "spoiled" me in this regard, I guess.

It'd be nice if people learned that they don't have to reply to every single post they see.

Anyway, I see PSABR PS3 in the PS Plus video but there's not a single mention of the Vita version. I thought that crossbuy games are supposed to be linked together when it comes to things like this, so the Vita version should be included, too, right?

I've contacted a mod to clean up the thread since a certain somebody can't drop it like I asked.

The only thing I'll say is that "hashing it out" means breakfuss sent me a PM and I replied. That's it.

It is included. I saw it on the playstation blog sayin so at least.

I own PSABR. It was cross-buy only if you bought the PS3 version, so perhaps that's why it doesn't appear to be currently linked. They said we're getting both so you're good.

As for the replies, it goes both ways. As long as it's germane to the discussion of games and their value, it's fair game. Thread is usually dead as a doorknob so I'm not even sure what the problem is. Sorry.

EDIT: Beaten. Sorry, again, for the "reply".

Does the Vita version come with the regular edition of the game? All the websites mention the vita crossbuy with the Giant Edition of the game which is the base game and the Reign of Giants Expansion.

This deal is just the regular version of the game and reign of Giants expansion is another $5 which kind of kills the deal. I could just wait for the giant edition and buy that for $15.
I've read this a couple times and I'm not sure what you're asking. That is, your second sentence answers your first, doesn't it? You ask if it contains the 'regular' edition, then answer that yes, it does indeed contain the 'base' game.

To be clear, the vita version is going to contain both the original game and the expansion. If you only own the ps4 version (through buying or ps+) you will get the vita version free, which will (awesomely) come with the expansion on your vita. You'd still need to buy the expansion if you wanted it on your ps4.

GI has a preview and a video with the devs and some gameplay of Geometry Wars 3 and they confirm that it has different shapes for stages and they have drones like Galaxies had before it. It has co-op and MP modes for friends to play together. I hope their 3D stages have a better camera than a game like Nano Assault Neo on Wii U, which ended with me fighting a boss or two upside down because its camera kind of sucks.

Frisky and I tried to hash it out over PM. Wish I could quote it, but I won't. What I will say is that the pronoun 'you' is used to refer to people in GENERAL. Finding it hard to believe he was confused by this, but I'll leave it alone.

I stand by my point. Indie developers do not need/want our sympathy. Their games should not be given special consideration. Transistor, which cost a 1/3 of every retail PS4 game I've played, is one of my favorite releases this year. Sublime experience and worth the current sale price. Doesn't matter that it was developed by a small team. As such, when discussing the quality of PS+ titles here, it serves no purpose for people to classify them as "indie". It's a lazy fucking argument. A game is just a game. Some are good, some are bad. And none can possibly interest everyone. My last post about this.

If anyone is interested in learning more about indie development, you should check out the documentary Indie Game. It's on Netflix, but I also have a free Steam copy if anyone wants it.

Anyone else getting horrendous psn lag? I can sign in, but the PS3 store won't load, internet connection test lists upload and download speeds both as "failed", and even the crap internet browser won't load.

I finally got around to playing FIrst Light. I loved it, thought it was great. Might have liked it more than Second Son. Fetch's playstyle feels faster and her kit feels better balanced than some of Delsin's stuff. This translated well to the battle arenas and made them pretty fun.

What do you guys generally think about picking up ps1/psp games 'full price'? I always want to wait for a sale, but they seem so sporadic and focused that i'll never get a sale on what I want (thinking stuff like the Arc the Lad games and Alundra, to be specific).

Then again, every time I buy one of these full price because I'm sure it'll never go on sale (both Z.H.P Unlosing Ranger and Gladiator Begins, for example) they've gone on sale within a month or two after my buy. [So if any of you guys want Arc to go on sale, convince me to buy now I guess.]
Buy it when you want to play it. I know I've been frustrated with waiting for older games to appear in sales. At first I thought the PSN sales just suffered from "the cult of the new", but now they just seem sporadic.

Edit: I should point out that even with the above mentality, there are a lot of things I won't pick-up until they go on sale, because I do not want to play them that badly. I tend to judge games by how much I think I can spend on it and still enjoy it.

Farsight has posted an update for S2 of Pinball Arcade on PS4:

PS4 Update

We will be launching Season Two shortly after the XBox One is released. This is because of a condition Microsoft requested for exclusive content. We must launch Season Two on XBox One before we can launch on PS4. Everyone will be notified when their tables have been unlocked!
They will be launching a Kickstarter for the Addams Family table soon.

They still use Kickstarter to fund their tables? I get that they have to pay for the license of those tables but it seems pretty unprofessional to get the begging cap out for how long they've been around. Maybe I'm just annoyed because of how buggy Pinball Arcade is.

I'd bet on this.

This is the reason they gave for the Terminator 2 KS:

We’ve succeeded in negotiating all of the licenses we’d need to digitize Terminator 2: Judgment Day and bring it to the Pinball Arcade. Unfortunately there are several licenses involved: in addition to the Williams license, we need a license for the Terminator 2 property, the actor likeness of the Terminator (Arnold Schwartzenegger) on the backglass and play field, and the right to use the actor voiceovers during gameplay. When we add up the costs of each required license and calculate what we’d have to charge for the table, we’ve realized that the Terminator 2: Judgment Day is just not commercially viable. The more we charge for the table the fewer people will be able to buy it- and our goal is to expose as many people as possible to this great table, not just a select few.

Here’s where you come in! The licenses for Terminator 2: Judgment Day will cost $66,000 (and that’s just for the licenses- we’ll cover all of the development expenses ourselves). Thanks to the amazing generosity of pinball fans throughout the world, our previous Kickstarter project for the Star Trek: The Next Generation pinball table raised $7,000 more than we needed for the Star Trek: licenses and we're applying this towards the license costs of Terminator 2: Judgment Day. If we can raise the remaining $59,000 we’ll be able to digitize Terminator 2: Judgment Day and preserve one of the greatest pinball tables of all time. If we don't reach our goal no credit cards will be charged, but if we raise more then the goal we’ll be able to digitize other licensed tables as well, including the next table we'd really like to pursue- Bally's incredible classic The Addams Family!

Well, don't I look like a dickhead.

The Steam sale for Zen Pinball couldn't have come at a better time since I was just about to give in to the Season One pass for Pinball Arcade. It's funny to think that Microsoft being a publisher can be a good thing - they often put the games on sale without the developer's knowledge like the last time Pinball FX tables were on sale. You rarely see the tables for PSN on sale since it's self-published there.

This is what I normally do. I'm just in the rare position of buying myself psn credit for my birthday and want to binge spend on things I normally wait on. (I actually have a ton of other psn credit... this is pure 'now' spending).

So far it's Dangapalooza and Transistor. One or two (depending on price) games to go. Having a really hard time deciding. The 'wait for a sale' in me has a hard time dropping anything over $10 on anything, even when that's specifically what I set out to do with this credit.

T2 and Addams Family are the two greatest tables of all time.
I should pick up T2 at some point. I have the S1 pass... which season is T2 part of? And... all the seasons are cross buy ps3/vita but not ps4, correct? Which blows, because I would want it on ps4/vita.

I would love a Lord of the Rings table. A bar near me used to have that and I really grew fond of it. Medieval Madness will always be my true love, though.

I never really feel like I run into bugs. In fact, I can't think of any. I love their tables, though.

Is the Wolf Among Us season pass worth $9.79 or should I hold out for a better sale?  I am downloading the first episode now and hope to check it out tonight or tomorrow but wanted some opinions from people who played all the episodes.

T2 is S2. If you have iOS or Android, you can play it for free for a while there.

If you participated in the tournament they just did last week, one bug that everyone had was that your game would crash if you played again after one play. It might've had to do with resetting the timer. But yeah, the PlayStation version is definitely more stable than mobile.

IMO, it's more than worth it at that price. It was on sale a while back for the same price and I got it then.

It has not as far as I know. I imagine it won't be just like season 1 with ps3/vita

+1 agree with them, it was a very good game an i bought it day 1 played till EP 3 an waited too finish it in till EP 5 was out.

hope they make a sequel, as the lore of world an characters was well done an worth revisiting, it has a lot good plot twist.

The season ends leading towards the first issue, so if you want more of that world, the comics are the best place for that as I'd assume that there are some compilations that are great for that.

Double Fine has a new episode of their Grim Fandango Remastered documentary up that shows an early, rough version of it running on PS4 before they've been able to start putting in the original higher res assets.

If you want to see the original game in action, Tim Schafer did a Let's Play episode where he plays it while talking about behind the scene stuff.

I can't wait to see the upgrades. I know it's just a remaster and not a remake, so it'll always be a little rough to modern sensibilities, but the game has a beautiful overall look and feel. Fantastic puzzles too -- I hope it's been long enough since I've played that I don't remember solutions... though the humor alone will be reworth a playthrough.

I just bought a 12gb Playstation 3 and I was wondering if anyone here has some recommendations on reliable hard drives. It doesn't seem like an SSD gives enough of a performance boost for the price, so I think HDD may be better suited for me. I do intend to write games and download games (psn+) so which hard drives do you guys have experience with? Thanks.

Check out Newegg, look at the highest rated HDDs at the size/price you want, and read the user reviews to see what the general feedback on them are like.

I know the rule used to be stick with 5400 RPM drives.  Does that still apply?

Also you will need a bracket to mount the HD I believe.  The 12GB PS3 doesn't come with bracket I don't think.  Amazon has them for pretty cheap.

Isn't the PSP Metal Slug Collection (1-6) still available for sale on PSN? That's playable on Vita.
Yes, I have it. Great collection, but they left out some emulation tweaks that would have been nice, like disabling the smoothing filter. This option would make the games look sharper, but a bit more pixelly.
