Until about a few days ago, every retailer had that list of items described for the bundle, but by some force of magic the $10 voucher and music unlimited pass were taken out. I wanted that voucher for either Child of Light or for when Costume Quest drops next month.</p>
Seems like a tossup at this point. I bought mine in March and didn't get it. Yet I know of some people who bought a PS4 last month and apparently received the vochers. Maybe certain retailers hadn't moved earlier stock? Probably a safe bet you won't get it if ordering from Amazon.

I got it from Gamestop last night. When I preordered it last week all that stuff listed was on the GS website and even the cashier told me the same thing. its whatever at this point. Thanks everyone for the replies.

I bought a PS4 last Sunday and it came with the $10 PSN code and 30 day music trial. The PSN code was still valid.
Where did you buy it from? Someone just made a good point in the other thread. If it was advertised with the vouchers included and you didn't receive one, Amazon will likely credit you if you call about it. Lol funny name, btw.

I got it at Best Buy. I didn't even know about the voucher; it was a nice surprise.

Add me to the group who was expecting a
$10 code w/destiny bundle. I also saw the listing not too long ago that said it included the voucher. I picked it up from GameStop last night and no code.

Can anyone speak to the value of the GTA IV or it's respective episodes? Seems like a decent price, although for $2.50 more I can get the disc that has the whole kitten kabootle at GS. Thoughts?

I personally wasn't a fan of 4 in general and still haven't played the episodes because of that.

I've only played the base game. I thought it was okay. Nothing too amazing, but it fills a gameplay niche that other open world games generally don't.

It goes on way too long though, and I recall fans finding it to be dull compared to past games. If I am remembering correctly, The Ballad of Gay Tony is highly regarded and considered the best part of GTA 4 and its episodes. I get the impression that it brings back some of the more ridiculous avenues of "fun" that fans of the series had come to expect.

Since the episodes are stand alone (I think?) you may want to just skip GTA 4 altogether, depending on how much of a fan you are and just how much of a "complete" experience you want.

As for a value judgement, $11 for the set seems like a bit much, but $5 or 6 for just one of them doesn't seem so bad. From a played hours perspective you might be getting too much value, by the time you finish one of the two, you will be sick of it, making the other $6 a waste.

It's not bad but it's definitely not the best GTA game. I felt like they took all the fun out of the GTA series and just tried too hard to make it seem real and serious. The lost and the damned was okay but I never played the ballad of gay tony.

I really enjoyed GTAIV. I haven't played the dlc though own it.

I can understand why people don't like it as much as other entries, but none of it's issues really bothered me. For example, the dating/hanging out mechanic was pretty bad... but it was also almost entirely optional. Some people didn't like the driving, but I was okay with that. Overall, it's definitely more 'serious' than other entries in the series, and compared to, say, San Andreas it didn't feel like it had as much to do.

Ultimately, I think coming into GTAIV people expected GTA:SA on steroids, with the new gen (ps3) bringing even more crazy things to do. And instead Rockstar cut back the craziness and put out a more refined (within rockstar standards) game and it turned off many. So depending on what you were looking for, it was either a step forward or a step back.

GTA IV was a step back from San Andreas. Yes you get good graphics but you wind up with a crappy story and overall an unenjoyable experience. There was one fun mission in the entire game. The rest of the time you are doing lame chore work like shuttling your cousin and friends around town. The Extra dlc episodes were very good and worth playing.

I haven't played a GTA game since Vice City. That was a fun one though. I picked up a copy of GTA V from Sams Club for $15 last week. Haven't touched it yet though. Just wondering if I should grab anything from this sale. Looks sorta enticing.

I think I would just play V. There will always be another GTA sale.

because there was mention about PSP games, you should note that Sony intends to stop support of PSP digital downloads shortly:

http://www.psu.com/news/24604/Sony-to-cease-PSN-support-for-PSP-on-September-15?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+PlayStationUniverse+%28Latest+PlayStation+News+-+PSU.com%29

This is why I own physical copies of games vs digital download only. fuck the digital era.
Did you read the article? The PSP won't be able to connect to PSN, however, you can still use your computer or PS3 to put games on the PSP.

I don't own a PSP, so I guess maybe I'm talking out of my ass, but doesn't the SEN web store let you add PSP games to a PSP download queue like it does for the Vita? Would you even need to do it through your computer / PS3?

Yep. That's what the article says, too. Of course, this doesn't affect the Vita. Sad to see the PSP go though (pun possibly intended). :( Back before I owned a wifi adapter for my 360 or a computer, it was my initial entry into online multiplayer with games like Resistance: Retribution.

Thanks to all of you for the replies, and frisky for the thread and that useful video to cancel autorenewal. I'd abuse a little more of your patience to ask you one more thing that eludes me: can i install a game from a disk? you know, to avoid having the disk spinning. I really can't find the option. Also just curious, what is that little icon of a hand and a number under the 'play game' option? i can check/uncheck it, a rating system or similar?

I suggest that you turn on the console and read carefully all the instructions on the screen. Its easier and its made for you to understand it fast.
Hecho :p

It's pretty straightforward for most of it. Like Xbox Live, you'll need PS Plus if you want to play online for most games and if you want to get the free games. You'll get two free games per month, so it's a pretty good deal plus you'll find that PS Plus gives some pretty good discounts on other games in the store either for pre-ordering or when there are sales. The PS Store updates every Tuesday afternoon/evening with new content and occasionally other times for flash sales.

You'll probably find that most of it is pretty similar in setup to what you're used to on 360 with some small differences.
PS+ has been a decisive factor for me to switch company in this new gen, although this month games aren't a wonder, i admit, the previously included free games are impressive. So i'm all for it. I guess there's no 'penalty' for letting the subscription die and renew it weeks after, apart from not being able to play online and the instant games. Does Sony have a 'rewards' program like microsoft?

The stuff on the PS4 itself is all obvious. Non-obvious stuff:

* Use the web store to "purchase" all the free Vita and PS3 games that come with plus. Even if you don't have the consoles now, you may get them later and will be glad you locked in the games.

* PSN cards almost never go on sale, unlike the old MS point cards, so jump when there's a good deal (like the $5 GameStop coupon from last week that worked on cards).
Cool pro tip. Already downloaded all available stuff. I'll keep an eye on card sales as well. No need for them right now. :)

PS4 auto-installs disc games to the hard drive, so you don't have any other option than to play them from the hard drive.

The hand is a Thumbs Up like there is on most social media networks these days. The other option next to it is for rating the games you own.

Just go to http://www.sonyrewards.com/en/home/ and sign up there with your PSN account, which is a much more straightforward rewards site than the Xbox Live counterpart.

Sorry if asked before, whats the difference between deadly premonition s directors and ultimate editions?
The Ultimate edition includes about 6 small dlc items which are character reskins, car reskins, and some real estate office that allows you to buy 3 houses. All of them cost $1.99 to $4.99 a piece and seem to be mostly useless, which is why I've held out buying the game in this sale in the hope of finding a cheap disk version someday... though the completionist itch still makes me consider buying. I keep thinking back to Oblivion and the little dlc's for it and how I think I enjoyed the game quite a bit more with them.

Kind of bummed I missed out on some of yesterday's Rockstar games. I never got around to LA Noire. Also, I never knew PS3 never got Bully Scholarship Edition. It would have been nice to play that one since my 360 is in storage now.

I did grab Deadly Premonition though and I'm really excited to actually play the magic that this game is.

It's not Bully: Scholarship edition. Just the original version on PS2. You can still get LA Noire, Red Dead Redemption, and GTA IV in a bundle for $15 at Gamestop.

Sorry if asked before, whats the difference between deadly premonition s directors and ultimate editions?

This Ultimate Edition bundle contains Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut, plus all 12 pieces of in-game DLC AND five unique avatar images!

- Outfits: Espresso Suit, Field Ops Suit, Friday Night Outfit, Happy Songkran Suit, High Roller Suit, Special Ops Suit, Cat Girl Outfit
- Content: Greenvale Real Estate
- Vehicles: Chibi Chibi Bang Bang, The Devil's Red, The Blue GT, The Green Drifter

- Avatars: York, Raincoat Killer, Emily, George, Mr Stewart

Since it's the same price as the regular version, the Ultimate Edition is the version to get.

Yo frisky thanks for the info. Wonder why they are offering the normal version at all.

Simply not true. They're just turning off the storefront on psp. There are still multiple ways to buy and download/install psp games to psps (and vitas).

The PSP was the first system I used to play online for the first time. I used to play Twisted Metal:Head On back in 2005 everyday online.

The deal with the PSP not being able to connect to the store seems stupid.  I mean, if you can bypass this with a PS3 and just download and then transfer the game... how hard would it be to just let people continue to access their purchase history from the device itself?  Sure shutdown the ability to purchase new games from the device but at least let people still directly download what they paid for.

Stuff like this is what made me initially afraid of digital purchases and instead prefer physical copies.  Then I got an iphone and got used to games going on sale for free, $1 and $2 games and so on.  It's easier to stomach digital when it's so cheap.  That's what made me decide to get a PS3.  The deals were just too good to ignore over the 360.   That lead me to steam and going digital for pc game purchases and now I'm starting to forward think a bit and wonder what the future of my PS3 is going to be?  I mean, I have a heck of a lot of games to play since I got into the system just last Christmas... and a great deal of those are digital.  Will Sony eventually cut me off from my library and force me to upgrade to a PS4 or just play disc only?

Eh, it's just got me a bit nervous.  Maybe I need to cool it with game purchases and just play what I have and when D-Day comes for my digital PS3 library to maybe just be a retro gamer or something.

...

I decided to go ahead and get Deadly Premonition Directors Cut Ultimate Edition.  Who am I kidding about considering to slow/stop purchasing games!  I'm going to keep my sealed disc copy for a while... but I wanted the option for the little bit of dlc.   Of course I have a feeling the game will now go free on ps+.

I don't need any of the gta games... already have all of them for PS3.   That's a great deal on VCS for the PSP though.  $2.49 for that masterpiece is a heck of a deal.

The reason they're cutting the PSP PS Store is because it's another storefront they have to update and manage every week for several regions, so dropping it helps simplify the workload the PS Store team has to go through when very few people, comparatively, use it at this point.

I never downloaded anything on my PSP anyway.  Believe it or not, I kinda liked the UMD format.

Not the movies, obviously, that was crap, just the discs in general.  They were cool.

Hi there, first time posting in this thread, although i recognize some users here from the xbox sales thread. I finally upgraded and jumped into sony arms, from a 360 to a ps4. The thing is i'm all kinds of noob in sony ways. I've read this thread faq but i'd like to know the essentials of what i'm about to face. Would any of you point me out a thread in this forum or external to know how ps4 works? like creating an account, how ps store works, psn cards and all the little stuff you take for granted. Thanks in advance.
Here's some more tips/knowledge ---

1) The store completes updating at 2pm PST (5pm EST) on Tuesdays. However, it starts earlier in the day... so sales from the previous week could be down early morning. So buy anything you want from a sale by the next Monday, and expect the new sales to be up in the afternoon (though they can show up earlier).

2) When the store update is complete, there will be a blog post on the Playstation blog to that effect listing all sales, etc.

3) You should pick up on how the ps4 works just by using it.

4) Once you have some ps+ games built up, I'd recommend picking up a vita. (i think it's worth it on it's own, but the ps+ library seals the deal). it's also fantastic at remote play (assuming you set it up correctly) which may be very useful to you (shared tv, kids, etc).

5) make sure you set your ps4 to be 'primary'. you probably did this during setup.

6) you can buy stuff on the webstore and 'push' the download to any of your ps devices. in the case of your ps4, if it's kept in standby (which mine always is) it'll start downloading/installing right away and be ready for you next time you're home/play.

can't think of anything else off hand.

yup. maintenance time/cost on antiquated systems adds up, especially as technology changes and you're still trying to maintain old code (like the psp store). it makes sense to eventually close those legacy apps down, as long as there are alternate methods (which there are) for people to buy/dl. sony isn't going to take down all psp games. even games they need to take down for exploit or licensing reasons are still available to those who already bought them.

So, Japan gets the ability to download their psp titles, and we lose our PSP service?  Oh, they aren't dropping psp games, they're just not letting Psps access the store.

can anyone confirm Suikoden is transferable from ps3 to vita?   It shows up on the compatibility list, but the entire ps1 section has broken tags so it's hard to be sure.  I'm pretty sure it is listed as 0000ff, which is blue, which means transferable, but the list is so broken it makes me feel like it's out of date/not maintained.
