I don't game on a PSP so I really don't care one way or the other about the PSP access. That being said, looking at everything as a whole....well, things just don't look nearly as good today as they did 6 months ago.  It makes me wonder whats coming next. Basically, now that Sony is out in front by a large margin and PS+ is doing as well as it is, I just don't see Sony making the effort that they were making initially. The quality of the PS+ offerings have declined dramatically these last 6 months. When your behind and fighting to keep up, your more motivated to act. Its now MS that is behind and sure enough, thier sales and Games for Gold offerings have improved dramatically over the same time frame. Again, as a whole I am just not liking what I have seen from Sony these last 6 months and I really hope things don't continue in this direction.

CAG keeps breaking the wiki feature, so that's why it hasn't been fixed/updated in a while.

I can confirm that it does work on my vita. I think I had to transfer it using my ps3.

They've posted the schedule of new content for Driveclub, which includes a bunch of things for the $25 Season Pass and some more stuff that will be free for everyone.

I never finished chinatown wars on psp, but i rebought it for my vita... it's good, though it doesn't control quite as good as you'd want it to (due to the single psp analog), and it makes me wish for native vita gta games. however, one of the best things about it is that there's a 'drug war' minigame... i'm talking old school style drug wars game that's been on pc in various forms since the 80's, the buying and selling of drugs in different locations to maximize profit margins. It's super fun.

I have no real complaints, personally. I wish there were more AAA vita games, but I don't blame sony for listening to the market, which didn't buy the ones they did make. but i'm also more than happy with the games i do have for vita. ps+ has been fine - it's never going to please everyone, because even if it did have 6 games you wanted in a month, then it's just more likely you already own them all.

I certainly don't think they're suddenly sitting on their thumbs because they're in the lead, that's just sillyness. It's worth noting that when you're in the lead, you don't need to talk as much. For example, if you have 10 games in production you can keep them close to your chest since you're already selling tons of consoles (saving the announcements for key moments), whereas if you're doing badly, there is pressure to announce them all at once so it looks like you're doing something. In both cases, in actuality you're doing the same thing (10 games in production).

thanks for the suikoden confirmation.   there are so many psp/ps1 games i want to pick up for my vita.   which is ridiculous, because i already have a backlog of both.   at least that means I can [probably] wait for a sale... i always want to play what i don't have.

 
As much as I like the GTA games, I don't see myself replaying them anytime soon. GTA V is enough for me. It fixed the issues I had with IV, and brought it back to my favorite area.

I would like to see Vice City's return in a future game, though.

Thanks frisky but sony rewards is only for US, not my case.

Anyway, is there a way to lock up the buttons of the console? The power and eject buttons i mean. See, i live with cats, and last night the little one opened the disk tray while i was in the middle of a mission in Destiny :p I wouldn't want they turn on the ps4 while i'm not looking or else.

played the original version on PC.  it's fantastic.   this version looks even better... and it has a platinum trophy.

it's sort of a military / breach sim.  you have soldiers with various weapons.... you set a few seconds of waypoint movement (including facing) for all your players, then can review how everybody moves, then 'finalize' the turn and all units (including enemies) move at once.   winning hard battles requires using cover, proper door breaching techniques, possibly sniper support, etc.  

can't wait.

definitely single player too. that's mostly what i played.

the mp looks pretty solid though. since it's effectively turn based, you can have many games going at once if you want and it'll alert you whenever it's time to put in new commands.

I don't think Sony is sitting with thumbs up their asses cause they are "in the lead" per se..... but they have no incentive to make PS+ worth a shit anymore on the PS4 side. It's all but mandatory now, and it's just going to become more mandatory as we get more "AAA" multiplayer games like Destiny. The vast majority of PS4 owners no longer have a choice..... they have to buy it. Oh sure, they may throw you a bone once in a blue moon for the PR points, and I'm sure they'll be plenty of sales on games that won't sell worth a shit otherwise, but anybody thinking PS+ was going to be a shadow of what it was on PS3 (which, IMO, wasn't that great to begin with) need to wake up and use their heads. PS+ is quickly becoming nothing more than a marketing tool for Vita.... and it's only going to get worse.

This was stated several times by several people when the new PS+ model was announced but of course the fanboys at large all said "Oh no, Sony won't do that, THEY LOVE US TOO MUCH!!!!!! PS+ 4EVA!!!". Well, here we are now......

or.... perhaps some of us just think ps+ is still a great deal and hasn't gotten worse? i actually think it's improved tons over time.

ps4 gives 2 smaller games a month. what did you expect the first year? all the bluray releases? if you asked me what i thought ps+ would give for the first year, i'd probably have told you exactly what sony told us that first ps4 E3 -- we'd be getting lots of indies for the first year. that's okay by me, saves me a small fortune.

i mean, seriously, the expectation you seem to set was never, ever possible. of course they're going to not give us bluray releases for at least a year. getting amazing stuff like resogun, outlast, v2x, and more is fantastic. if you needed killzone, nfs, asscreed, etc by now to be happy, you were never, ever going to be happy.

If nothing else, I WOULD HAVE expected better sales on PS4 software, including the full $60 games, to help push some sales. I figured this was the end of PS+ as we knew it though....

Unfortunately there are several licenses involved: in addition to the Williams license, we need a license for The Addams Family®, the actor likeness of Raul Julia (Gomez Addams) and Anjelica Huston (Morticia Addams), on the backglass and play field, and the right to use the actor voiceovers during gameplay. When we add up the costs of each required license and calculate what we’d have to charge for the table, we’ve concluded that The Addams Family® is just not commercially viable. The more we charge for the table the fewer people will be able to buy it- and our goal is to expose as many people as possible to this great table, not just a select few.

Here’s where you come in! The licenses we've secured for The Addams Family® will cost $101,000 (and that’s just for the licenses- we’ll cover all of the development expenses ourselves). Actually, games like Final Fantasy 14 online, Warframe, Blacklight Retribution, DC Universe Online, and *Destiny don't require PS+. You can only play single player in Destiny so no joining a fire team even though you see people running around and no joining multiplayer only missions.

*No, PS+ is not required for Story mode. Only Strike's raids and Crucible. You also get 1 months free PS+ with the game which should allow you to get a fair way through all the modes before you decide wether to pay any more for PS+.

so... it's not about the games now? it's about sales? sony can't force publishers to have sales, they can only control sales of stuff like killzone, knack, etc... and remember, since it's still launch year these games still sell fairly well so there's not exactly a need to have some huge sale.

I guess I just don't understand where you're coming from. I've gotten tons of games I would have bought day 1 on ps4 (resogun, outlast, don't starve, velocity 2x) that in and of themselves paid for my year subscription (would have been 15ish each), plus some games i don't care for (towerfall, etc) and some games i would have bought on sale (strider, etc). Meanwhile, they've had good sales on other games like transistor and lego marvel that i picked up.

The ps3 has almost a decade's worth of games to put on firesale for $5 or so. The ps4 doesn't need to do that... people are buying up the games since they're still all 'new' to most people. Expecting anything different seems illogical to me, and criticizing/accusing sony of some sort of plot to make ps+ worse seems downright silly.

coming in and calling anyone who disagrees with you 'fanboys' for liking ps+ is just out of order. We just had our expectations in line. I knew exactly what I'd be getting for ps4 for the first year because they were upfront about it, and i wouldn't have expected any different anyway.

only 30 minutes in, but the combat system in Transistor is really cool.  so it the sound and atmosphere.  thanks all who recommended it.   it's too early to say for sure, but so far i think it has the potential to be one of my favorite combat systems ever.

 
And you're only seeing the very outer layers of it right now. It's definitely some of the most enjoyable and original combat I've found in any game in a long time.

We had a hiccup in our plans to make this tournament completely exclusive, so the tournament will be open to everyone, but we will only be offering prizes to the top ten that meet the $15 pledge requirement. everyone is welcome to compete, but only backers will be counted. Yes, there won't be any issues with purchasing/downloading PSP games on the PS3 or PC. You just can't buy them directly on the PSP anymore. That's it.
