I'm not sure what apps will work but I don't think the blu ray remote will be compatible. This is literally a vita without a screen. But, who knows, since the controllers work they might surprise us.

I agree with you on the absurd PS4 incompatibility. Especially when the dualshock's battery life is so poor. A nice compromise would be for it to shut down during movie viewing. The remote was of the best purchases I made for PS3. Highly recommend it to people who consume a lot of media. I'm still hoping they'll patch it in but they'll probably replace it with another model. Sucks. There are some 3rd party remotes though.
 
I just bought Soul Reaver, cause that game is awesome.

I hate using controllers as remotes for consoles. It's clunky and they always turn off, so you have to wait for it to turn back on just to pause a movie.

I'd imagine all of the big media apps will be available on PS TV at launch, though they'll probably post an official list between now and its launch.

I'd love to see the PS3 remote be supported since it also acts as a controller if games don't require analog sticks.

Every game on that list is playable on PS TV at launch. The device itself is a set-top version of a Vita that can connect to your TV.

I haven't played anything in a serious manner. Just more of a "Huh, I'm surprised that works" sort of novelty for a minute at most. The d-pad is terrible, so you're not really going to play through games. It just has all of the buttons and a d-pad so you can navigate the XMB and other menus without a controller.

SOME of them. Games that don't rely on a touchscreen or a gyroscope or the back touch panel will function on a PS TV. Any games that do require any of these inputs will not work, including key titles like Tearaway and Uncharted: Golden Abyss.

 
Will playstation tv  play  PSN+ stuff or  is this a whole new thing.  (think its a whole new thing right) 

think im passing not paying  7  bucks to rent  stuff   (i stick with gamefly)   

so how i understand this is just a streaming  Gamefly  (BUT COST  A HELLA  LOT MORE)

PS TV plays select content from PlayStation systems past and present, including:

If you own an xbox360 or PS2, Need for Speed: Most Wanted (the original one from 2005) is perfect for that, as is Midnight Club: Los Angeles (Midnight Club LA is REALLY hard though) on PS3/360. If we're talking only PS3/PS4, Midnight Club: LA is the last racing game with considerable customization/RPG elements. Most recently: Need for Speed Rivals scratches that "customization" itch, but it's not nearly as deep as the games I mentioned.

 
Ugh, so frustrating.  I don't want the standalone Freedom Cry game.  Why can't they put the DLC version on sale?  I've only bought one thing on PSN since getting my PS4 7 months ago.  As a convert from 360 last gen I've been very disappointed in PS + so far.

Disappointing but not surprising prices. $13.50 for Liberation Vita? I mean come on, the PS3 version is cheaper than that. Wish it would hit $7.50 or $5 on sale already.

Right, which is why i'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. I'm not expecting day 1 releases to be 50% off, but at least DLC for a multiplatform game that's been out for nearly a year could go on sale, especially when they have a themed sale for that game.

Also that is a EU post so would not effect us here ..... i wasnt expecting to hear what octs games were until the 2 or 3rd anyways since they wont go up until the 7th

seriously. i understand about AC 4 but i wish 3, revelations, and brohood were $5 - $7.50 tambien. i don't understand ubisoft sometimes.

 
This week's .99 movie rental is Everything Must Go starring Will Ferrel. I can't comment on it, but another .99 rental is Daybreakers starring Ethan Hawke. The movie is about a world that is largely vampires, and they feed on the last remaining humans. It's not a horror movie at all - the vampires are as intelligent as humans and they make up society. Highly recommended if you're curious about that sort of thing.

Also of note is that the Naruto movies are on sale for $5 to own. Not bad. Links later when I get to a computer.

Can anyone comment on the Vita fishing game "Let's Fish! Hooked On" The price is right at $5 and I love me some fishing games.
 
Heh a bunch of Atlus stuff is onsale, at this point they might as well just make those the regular prices already given how often that happens.

Wonder if we'll ever get another sale on Fate/Extra....

Hope a spend $60 get $10 back deal comes soon

 
$49.99 pre-order for Driveclub is tempting.  Any official word on steering wheel controller support?  Last I heard the old Logitech wheels like my Driving Force GT won't be supported on PS4. :(
