I recently played through 1 and I found it unfairly maligned, it has the same core problems as 2, just 2 offers more distractions (platforming tombs and mansion building mini-game, etc.) to keep you from noticing them. The story is also better in 1. At this point I would just jump straight to 4 as that's when they (apparently) finally give up trying to tell the modern day story and started over with a new character, especially if you have a PS4.

Atlus did have a super sale. It was maybe... a year ago? All the normal entries (Riveria, Yggdra, etc) were $2.99 iirc and the second tier were a couple bucks more (Growlanser, etc).

I picked everything up then. Glad I did.

I'm kicking myself for not picking up the Ys games during their sale, though.

2 is the best one and a good one to start with. My favorite AC game in order is 2, 3, Brotherhood, Revelations, 4, 1. Liberation is good but not a full game like the others so I don't rank it.
 
Jumped on Catherine. It looks like something that may be hard for me to get into but I'm going to try since it's so beloved by people.

 
Already played thru all the main DLC extensions for BL2, but are any of the holiday-themed Headhunters worth the $1.49? Or are they just an hour of gameplay and some dress-up stuff?

 
I was worried when I saw there would be an Assassin's Creed sale this week, but the only DLC on sale is the standalone version of Freedom Cry, so my wallet is safe this week.

Yea, but usually PS+ sales can be pretty dirt cheap. I'd pay $10 to screw around with it on the go, but I'm not paying full price. Just like CoD: Decrappified. I'm waiting for it to hit 5 or 10 bucks too.

Might have to pick up Red Faction: Guerrilla again, I really enjoyed it on the XBox and sub $5 is tough to pass up (even though my backlog is even bigger after picking up GTA IV last week).

PvZ was a PS+ free game, and the ps3 version was part of the 99 cent flash sale in April, so I'd say a sale on the vita version at some point isn't unlikely.

 
Thx for the headsup, was eyeballing Persona 4 Arena on Amazon yesterday but noticed the Ultimate Edition on sale this week!  Been spending a lot of money on digital downloads the past few weeks -ugh. 

Anyone else sitting on their PS+ code waiting for a good ps+ or free game to pop up?  I think I've lapsed since June with no reason to redeem the code yet!

Yes, all versions of Child of Light were on sale a couple weeks back. Something like 30% off I believe.

Darn! That must have been before I joined ps+. I knew about the flash sale, but I only wanted the vita version.

The game just recently came on my radar, so I might have overlooked that sale. Hopefully it'll go on sale again. They tend to repeat sales on certain games so hopefully they do it again on this one.

Yeah, CoL was decently high profile for an indie downloadable game so there's a good chance it will be on sale around the holidays.

It was only the PS3 and PS4 versions that were on sale. I would have gotten the Vita version had it been on sale.

As soon as Comcast's check to Tom Wheeler clears and the government approves the CC-TWC merger, it's going to get even worse.

Or not.... because, like Comcast says, merging the two largest cable monopolies in the US and giving them control to roughly half the internet access in America can only help the customers and increase competition right? :wall:

I swear, it would almost be funny if not for the fact that I'm one of millions that will be directly impacted by this merger. The very idea that they complained to the FCC over these companies "extorting" them..... I can smell the bullshit and hypocrisy through the damn screen. I lol'd when I read how they called out Netflix specifically.

What really makes me angry though is how transparently corrupt the FCC is, to the extent that that most experts still think this will pass despite the obvious detriment to everyone who isn't a major Comcast/TWC share holder. I am holding out hope against hope that, like SOPA, the sheer public outcry will force them to do the right thing... but history says otherwise.

what makes me sick is when you have a promo for sale Free hbo for 3 months, The 3 months ends and they try to charge you 15 a month so you go and tell them to cancel it and they go O WE dont want to lose you so heres another 3 months. Then when you have a problem with your cable the worker sees the 3 month and goes I dont know what your complaining about your getting HBO free thats like us giving you money every month. Im like you can shove your free hbo up your ass just fix my problem.

Also stay away from chat, Chat workers will lie to you to get to you stay with comcast and then when your bill comes it will be different. There is nothing you can do, chat log copy and paste is no longer accepted cause they said you could of changed it. They said they no longer keep chat logs so anything promissed in CHAT will no longer be honored (and i thought that only applied to sex chat :) )

We was going to leave them last month for direct tv and a chat worker goes we can give you digital starter for 24.99 a month for a year (What is a great deal and we accepted) Channels never came on and next chat person said you would have to call to get them turned on. When we called they go that is 44.99 a month for 12 months and had to fight with them for 4 hours to get them to honor the 24.99 price (think cause we told them we had the chat logs showing the person saying 24.99 and then after we agreed to stay they changed it to 44.99 and we said right there was bait and switch fraud and we would sued) The person on the phone gave in and honored it but was told it was a one time thing cause they will not honor deals done on chat due to the fact they just make up prices to keep their buy rates up... (also love when they did this they killed our streampix for 4.99 and if we wanted it back we would have to pay 3.99 to turn it back on. told them to shove their streampix up their asses, what the joke is on them cause a month back a chat worker offered us 3 months free of streampix and gave us a 15 buck credit (what we got) . Only got 1 month of streampix so by turning it off comcast cost themself 10 bucks HA

Two questions for anyone familiar with Persona 2: Innocent Sin. How obnoxious is the random encounter rate, and are there any good spells/methods/items to reduce it, and about how long does the game take to beat if you don't mess around? I'm still on the fence about buying it.

Some people say Creed 1 is repetitive and boring, but it was one of my favorites, so I would say start there. But the series did get a dramatic overhaul for Creed 2 so if you want to skip 1 that is where I would start. Just a quick note, Revelations comes with Creed 1 on the disk so if you are planning on playing them all you might grab it to get the first one free.

Liberation is pretty good, I liked it enough I actually picked up HD in this sale to play through it again. But if I were comparing it to the other games in the series it would probably be my least favorite. That said I love the series so it's still a good game in my opinion.

If I had to put them in order it would go:

Black Flag

Brotherhood

Creed 2

Creed 1

Creed 3

Revelations

Liberation

And I'm looking forward to adding Unity and Rogue to the list in November!

Looks good. I've been hoping to see something out of those guys. After Sony axed Wipeout and Nintendo shelved F-Zero, things weren't looking good for futuristic racing.

Also, no Wipeout during the flash sale made me sad.

Yeah, here in Michigan we're going to be getting shifted from the Comcast brand to the Charter brand. You would think it shouldn't change much but I expect it to make a tolerable evil into something worse.

How many times has Deadly Premonition went on sale on PSN? I know it was not to long ago and I was thinking about jumping on it but I just played his newest game on XB1 and it's amazing and want to go back and play deadly premonition now and really regret not grabbing it on sale. :(

(with that said, i grabbed catherine this sale so i wont have the same regret down the road)

Catherine goes on sale all the time. Deadly Premonition went on sale the first time just over a week ago and was only 5 bucks. If a game is on sale for the first time and you're interested in it, just grab it. Who knows when the next sale will be?

If you have a gaming PC, I think you can grab it from one of the current indie bundles.

I had and enjoyed Charter. I never noticed slowdowns....in like 2 years. So, now you have!
