I just went to buy Mirror's Edge (after paying my $5 tithe to be able to do so) and got a "You are not eligible to buy this content." I assume that's because it's after 3/noon?

Yes, the sale is over. The other thing it could have been is there is a one hour trial for that game if you are PS+, if you had started the trial and never finished the full hour then PSN thinks you already own the game and will prevent you from buying it.

What do you guys think of the PS4 replacement policy, its $53.99 (with PS+, $60 otherwise) and gives you 3 years of replacement service from TIME OF PURCHASE.  My PS4 is a year old now almost, today I had a bit of a scare with the system just shutting off in the middle of Destiny and wouldn't power on.  I cleaned it up with a vacuum and it seems ok, but now I'm not sure whether to buy a policy or not.

I usually steer clear of them on things like TVs, cars, air conditioners, etc since they usually fail outside the replacement window and electronics in my experience have been one of those things where it fails early or runs forever.  On the other hand with this months $15/100 deal the effective cost would be $46 assuming I spend at least $46.01 on something else.

On the other hand in a year there will probably be some cool PS4 bundles and if it fails, meh I can just grab a new one with whatever crazy deal is going on at the time.

I actually got my AWD Destiny PS4 covered by the protection plan. Since I had some PSN credit left over from the GS $5 coupon thing I went ahead and bought it. The CS person was saying that it's better to purchase it over the phone since their actual systems and the PSN store thing is different...not sure how that affects other promos, your PSN credit, etc.

Perhaps the wording on the Capcom's original agreement(s) is loose enough that they can release the Mega Man games on another Nintendo console without renegotiating with its developers? Particularly if the Wii U and 3DS use an emulator and they are literally just selling the original ROMS that would have been imprinted on the carts.

Capcom probably wants to make as much money as possible for as little work as possible, so they only offer ROMs and ISOs of their various versions of Mega Man to the two services that specialize in emulation of the platforms containing the vast majority of those games.

Anyone know if we can we still add that on to launch PS4s or is the window closed?

Generally speaking I advise against any sort of replacement policy, but that price isn't terrible if it gives you peace of mind. The only insurance I do sometimes recommend is 'accident insurance' on devices you carry (laptops, phones) because for most companies it's pain free replacements.

 
I don't have anything to add other than I became a Sony Pony yesterday. Got the white Destiny bundle. Excited as hell to set it up tonight and sign up for PSN. Embrace me, my equestrian bretheren.

Also...having an Xbox One and PS4 side by side is some boss shit. Feelsgoodman

That is the only reason I held off on buying it during this deal. Sub $10 for a JRPG is normally a slam dunk purchase for me, but I would much rather play it on the Vita than PS3, so I will hold off for now.

Congrads man. I am too old to really even want both consoles anymore, so I am all in with Sony from this point moving forward. They're just too similar anymore.

You have one month from time of purchase to buy the plan that covers accidental damage. You have one year to purchase the plan that covers only hardware failure.

I bought the basic plan because Bing paid for it. I should have waited to buy it though. My console was going to be covered for a year anyway, and I could have bought it now to take advantage of the $100 spent promo.

I wonder what we have to do if we need to send our console in, and we upgraded the hard drive? Do we have to put the original hard drive back in? Do we send it in with the upgraded hard drive? Do we send it in with no hard drive?

Never send an an upgraded drive for repairs to any repair depo - not sony, not dell, nobody. There is always a chance you're going to get a refurb back.

Well, hmm. I definitely don't need accident insurance on a console. So I guess I need to decide on insurance this month since it's a year next month, plus the $15 dollars back. Decisions, decisions.

I miss reading Groo. It's been... decades? Just recently read Dungeon Vol. 1 which is similar -- a guy works for a dungeon master and accidentally becomes known as a great warrior, and sort of lucks into everything. I remember Groo being funnier overall, but Dungeon was good too.

 
Man, 10 minutes ago I would have never ever thought of adding insurance to my ps4.  Now I'm seeing it discounted to $45 and, alongside the 100/15 deal, seriously considering it. 

Anyone know how long the ps+ discount is going to last? Is it going away tomorrow?  Dammit.

Hmmm... I actually sent in my PS3 to Sony to get repaired a few months ago, and it had an upgraded hard drive in it. However, I was worried that they would send me a refurb console instead of fixing my actual PS3 that had an upgraded hard drive in it, so I asked them about it on the phone when I set up the repair.

The CS rep told me to send in my console with the upgraded hard drive in it, then he made a note in my repair file that the person fixing the console should transfer my hard drive to a refurb unit if they couldn't/wouldn't fix the console I sent in. I also included a note in the box containing my PS3 just to be extra safe. I ended up getting my PS3 back from them fixed and with the upgraded hard drive still in it, but maybe my story is not the norm.

I think I would have just pulled the hard drive, I don't trust any warranty to give you back any accessories or modifications. As I was reading your story I thought for sure it had a bad ending coming.. lol Anyway it's good to know they are doing a good job over at Sony.

I got my original unit back too. At the time, I didn't have PS+ so I would have been gutted to lose all my saves. I did include a handwritten note asking that they try to refurbish my console instead of sending a replacement. It's nice to know that Sony takes requests within reason. Microsoft would never do that - there was a story a while back about a kid who sent his Xbox in for repair. It was autographed by his favorite pro wrestlers or something, and as far as I know, he was never able to get it back.

I had a nightmare with Microsoft repair, I sent my launch 360 deluxe in after RROD, and got back a basic that had dirty scuff marks and reeked of cigarette smoke. Since the hard drive was removable the only difference was a chrome dvd face rather than white, but it still bothered me. Anyway I was without my machine nearly a month because I had to send it back to get a deluxe in better shape. That replacement Deluxe also started to RROD but would recover after being off of for a while. Luckily this happened around the time the elite was announced and GameStop was giving insane trade in for old units toward an elite so I traded and still have that machine.

I've played alot of online matches and its fun. It has more stuff in it now because of the updates, maybe get it when its like around $30.
