Heh, looks like HGSTs (Hitachis) are a better brand to use than Western Digitals, despite the latter owning the former. Maybe that's why Sony systems use them. I've noticed things aren't as good as they could be on my WD, like LA Noire's environments load even as I'm driving, although it could just be me since I've recently upgraded my PS3 to a 640GB hard drive, which definitely won't be as fast as a 160GB.

My HGST seems a bit slow on my macbook pro, used to boot up much faster with a WD drive.

anyone know whats up with the Shadow of Mordoor add on pack? Power of Shadow i think its called. Looks like its a free download right now. I dont have the game but if its free i was thinking of snagging it. Did a quick search and it looks like its actually extra levels or something. Anyone know how long its free/what it is?

Also: anyone know if Dust is improved at all from the other versions or if its a straight port for the PS4

I'm wondering the same thing about the SoM add on.

As for Dust, it's apparently remastered, and now runs in 1080p at 60fps:

wonder if anyone can chime in on the SoM question

thanks for the heads up on Dust. Worth a replay then i guess. 360 is the version i bought/played before. I guess this is a good excuse to play it again, it was a fun game. Any idea if trophies are the same for the ps3/ps4 or if you can double down on them?

*edit* @ Frisky just was wondering what it was. Weapon pack, or just some new missions like it looks like when i searched for it.

It also includes a new Shadow of Power skin.

Edit: You get one new Epic rune for each weapon:

Sword: Elven Grace - 50% Chance to reduce melee damage received by 50%

Bow: Ascendant - Reduce Focus depletion rate by 50%

Dagger: One With Nature - Immune to Poison

These don't stack.

So little info online about TMNT: Danger of the Ooze and it comes out in 2 days.

Not a good sign for it being a quality cherished game.

I'm sure my kids will want it if they realize it's even being released.  

Let's hope for a rapid price drop before Christmas.

If it's the one I'm thinking, it's a Metroidvania-style game by WayForward. Looks interesting, but I'll definitely wait for something cheaper. Preferably a physical copy.

I love Metroidvania games but this one doesn't look very good. In fact the animations make me think it was a mobile game that was converted to console.

Actually, it's correct. They sale every sale ends on Monday because they'd get tons of complaints if they said it ended on Tuesday because it doesn't last the entire day. That's why they changed from saying Tuesday years ago to just saying any sale ends on Monday.

yea that was what was confusing. It appeared to be a weapon or rune pack from the decription but when i searched on google they made it sound like you could play as the bad guy. Im guessing the stuff i was reading was just refering to the character skin, and not an actual campaign or something! thanks for clearing it up

Has anyone else gotten a "$5 off your next purchase" email from Sony?  Mine expires today and I have no idea what to use it on.  My PS3 library is very lacking so...any suggestions?

Enslaved complete is on sale for $10 without PS+ ($5 off if you have PS+), great platforming, combat, and story.
Dead Nation is a fabulous twin stick zombie shooter for only $4.
Demon's Souls is a 3rd person, gloomy, difficult, melee combat action RPG which is one of the PS3's best exclusives. If you have PS+ it is a little under $10. If not, you can get it from amazon via digital code for $11.
If you like J-RPGs the Tales of Symphonia series is supposed to be quite good, 2 games for $17 or $10.19 with PS+.

I wish it had been Soul Calibur instead, but what the heck, for a fiver it's worth a shot. I bought it yesterday, and it seems like a perfectly solid port. Looks great by PSP standards and more than acceptable for a Vita game... just don't expect Street Fighter X Tekken quality. It plays, well, like Tekken unfortunately. Feels kind of stiff next to its competitors, but at least the hits have impact. Tons of characters but not a wealth of modes.

Oh, there's been bad ones, too. Personally, I didn't like it, because it's so punishing and because the nitro play mechanic is so limiting. Want to use shortcuts? Better have nitro! Want to push opponents off the road? Better have nitro! Want to win a race? Better do it over and over again until you have enough XP for a better car. If you don't mind grinding (in a racer!?) and humiliation, you might enjoy it. Personally, I wanted to smack the design team silly.

how long does a game take to be released after it is rated?  could it be out before halloween?

I wouldn't bet on it coming out soon. When the ps3 version came out a month ago, they basically said that they're "considering" a ps4 version if there's enough demand, but they apparently hadn't even started on a ps4 port yet.

I'd say it's very unlikely, seeing how it's a pretty niche title. On a similar note, I'm dying for a deal on Akiba's Trip, and that ain't happening soon it seems. :(

Damn I thought this was Primal Rage when I saw the trex and the word Primal. So disappointed.

I don't think he's talking about Primal Rage, I think he's talking about whatever the first game in that series was.
