This exactly. I don't really care that much about characters and story in a lot of games, but the characters in GTA V were obnoxious enough that it actually detracted from the game a little bit for me.

But oh man, Trevor taking a shit behind a dumpster was just HILARIOUS!!!! :roll:

 
I feel bad for you philistines who can't get with GTA's brand of social commentary. It's quite Dickensian, actually.  ;) Perhaps they could have fleshed out the characters more, but I'm just happy it isn't half as boring as IV or Red Dead Repetition.  Hope some of you at least give the online a try.

To some extent yes, to some extend no. I remember specifically when you meet a snake oil salesman for the first time and then you decide to murder a dozen or so people, for no particular reason, to prevent the admitted swindler from being taken. Nothing which came before that moment gave me any reason to believe the main character would make that choice.

That was more of a joke comment because I am 99% sure no one will get banned for this, but it falls into the same "not supposed to be free, but is free" issue going on now with MS. I "bought it" and wasn't charged, so you're good to go until this is killed.

I see I see. My best guess is that the banning happened because of new regulations with the change to local currency, even free in one country costs something else in another etc. etc.

true, I think that everyone's a bit right - rockstar doesn't excel at creating the greatest/deepest/most sympathetic or even consistent characters, but they do make pretty amazing open worlds that you feel like you could take a real bite of. I couldn't stand gta5 for the same reasons as others her, but I definitely appreciate what a marvel it is. I was also a sucker for rdr - I'd even just stop and watch dusk turn to night sometimes - but I vaguely remember a couple inconsistent moments that made Marston just a little off. Every big game though - rdr, la noire, gta5 - extraordinary living worlds.

Sweet, I've actually been interested in that game as well. As for Valhalla Knights, I never "buy" those free games unless they're free for longer than a day. Then I know it's not a mistake.

 
Yes.  Part of what others are talking about, a stealth Atlus sale.

I actually think P4G may actually be free in November as part of the Vita IGC refresh.  So I'm definitely waiting for that, or I would probably scoop it up if I could find it for $10 somewhere.

I would hold off on buying anything on sale right now. I say this because the PS+ games are listed as being on sale, but the price hasn't updated yet. So to be safe may as well wait for the update to be 100% done in case some of these will be even cheaper. That's my thought process anyway.

I'm pretty sure those titles were originally PSP only at release and then got Vita compatibility after. They just forgot to update the compatibility list.

So now I guess the question is, is Valhalla Knights worth my time to play?  Metacritic score is 53, ouch.  If anyone says that it's worth free, then I'm skipping it.

Yeah, none of the GTAV characters are likable in any way. At all. All they do is yell at each other for 5+ hours of cutscenes.

I have no idea who this "captainek" is. I'm pretty new to PS+ and wasn't sure if redeeming a purchase code would count towards the promos.

Valhalla Knights 3 is coming out soon, maybe 1 is coming out to promote it??

NM, lol, you mentioned VH3. Also, if it's still unclear, any PSN credit (regardless of its origin) will count toward the $50/$10-back promotion. Codes for additional months of PS+ do not count.

shocked they gave it for free and just did not make it part of OCT psn+

unless they wanted to and sony said they could not fit it into PSN+ this month so they said to hell with it and just gave it away for free to promote the 3rd part. Then again how awful the first one was it will make people think part 3 is just as bad and not buy it .

I don't see your point. Big games that review well also have embargos.
