No Blood Knights in The Drop. It launched on Friday for Xbox Live, so figured we'd get it on Tuesday. Turns out it isn't out on PSN til the 20th. Anyway, I think it looks cool.

EDIT: After reading up about it, looks live it's been stuck in the final stages of development for a while. It had release dates as early as 2012. That's never a good sign...
It's going to be a decent local co-op hack and slash, but it's got poor voice acting and I kinda want to wait for a sale which would probably happen a lot sooner on PSN than XBL.

And it shall spite you back with no trophies.
I was just going to say no trophies is probably my biggest complaint, because at least with trophies I probably would have put forth some effort in AC1 (completed more side missions, explored more), but with no trophies I did the minimum amount to finish the game.

I think I only did the eavesdrop and pickpocket missions to progress the story.

I 100%ed Assassin's Creed a long time ago. I want to play the rest but I forgot the story of AC1 and playing it will be more fun than watching YouTube videos.

@ AC1 haters - I can understand some of the legitimate complaints against the game, but cmon, there is something major missing that AC1 did great that each game has failed to recapture since. Altair was an assassin. Ezio was a trained killer. In the first one, you completed side missions to acquire information on your target that was useful. You could use that information to rehearse your kill, study your target and plan out how you were going to get in and out of the area undetected. In every AC since then, you just murder and run.
I couldn't agree more.

I played the demo for Blood Knights on xbox and ummm its not bad but its not really good either. I don't see any people buying that for 15. maybe for 5.
For CAGs (except Tyler who get banned), 15 is equivalent to 5 in XBLA, if you catch my drift
But I rather play on PS3.

finally, a week where im not interested in anything on PSN. going to pick up Ghosts whenever my amazon trade credit comes through though, so im not totally out of the woods.

I have difficulty starting another Assassin's Creed game, because AC2 already started feeling repetitive around the 80% complete mark so I need to put quite a bit of distance between the two or I would probably get burnt out on it very quickly.

yea i have to space them out a lot to avoid this too. i definitely plan on playing 4 at some point, but it will be down the road once it gets real cheap.

The best part of AC1 for me (and the only thing that made it tolerable) was having zero idea what the game was about. I had never even seen it in action. So running around in what really is some darn good looking old cities yutzing around with the mechanics was entertaining enough to struggle to the end. the ending was far better than the other 9/10 of the game for sure.

AC1 is still the best because it was actually about assassinations. Sure it got extremely repetitive with the dumb filler requirements but you actually stalked your target and figured how to get in and out.

You actually felt like an assassin, similar to a Hitman game.

Every other one just threw that out the window.

I 100%ed Assassin's Creed a long time ago. I want to play the rest but I forgot the story of AC1 and playing it will be more fun than watching YouTube videos.
Played Assassin's Creed before I was big into achievement hunting. At the time I thought "Why the fuck would I spend hours looking for these stupid flags?"

These day's I'd do it.

but what do u mean by "complete"? I always think of completion as story related. Everything else is repetitive in every single game I have ever played

Assassins' Creed and AC: Brotherhood are the best games in the series. You can make the case 1 is bad, but it was unique, full of all the things they later stripped away for...swashbuckling action. I prefer the freedom and stealth of 1, even if the concept was flawed. Brotherhood was great and the multiplayer was a nice distraction. 2, Revelations and 3 can rot.

This is my approach. I never do playthrough 2; I finish the story and then move on to the next game. If there's achievements that actually add to the game (additional quests, etc.) that are fun I'll play them during my playthrough, but once I finish the story, I'm out. I'm actually working through my backlog with this approach. :)

I recently read a retrospective piece about classic horror games and immediately afterward downloaded Fatal Frame 1&2. I know I won't get to them for a while but I think I will enjoy them when I do. I just wish there was a proper port of Silent Hill 2 available from this generation as I have been thinking about that game lately.

Has anyone here played Lone Survivor? I'm trying to play through without using more than 1 meat and no flares, but I have no idea how to get past the monsters. Each one takes 5-6 bullets to take down, and it just can't seem to find enough ammo.

Holy smokes... I don't have the foggiest idea of how to do that. Ammo always seems to be in short supply.

I'm sure he means 80% synchronization. That's how I'd measure completion in any AC game.

Yup, my friends keep asking me why I'm getting a launch PS4 when there are so few launch games.  My answer is always, "um, Pinball Arcade!"  No flipper lag should be refreshing.

Head shots if you're not (they should only take 3 shots, I think). Also always take pills before you sleep. I think blue ones have a chance to give you ammo when you wake up.

Way off topic, but I'm 15 hours into Trails in the Sky. Bought it at full price and it's worth every penny.

It's no hyperbole when I say that it's got some of the best characters and dialogue of any game I've ever played.

If you're looking for a new RPG to sink your teeth into, download Trails in the Sky. I can't put the friggin' game down.

Ok, maybe I'm missing something, but how do I aim for the head? I just hold the R button and press X to shoot. Guess I missed the part about aiming...

yeah i know. buyers remorse on soul sacrifice two months ago at $18 and still havnt touched it.

gotta flip my dd da for 21 at bb tomorrow before that drops

also ibb n obb fail but oh well, my fault for buying psn games.

I need to keep kicking myself not to buy stuff, even on sale, if im not going to be playing it right away.

yeah i know. buyers remorse on soul sacrifice two months ago at $18 and still havnt touched it.

gotta flip my dd da for 21 at bb tomorrow before that drops

also ibb n obb fail but oh well, my fault for buying psn games.

I need to keep kicking myself not to buy stuff, even on sale, if im not going to be playing it right away.

CAG and PS+ have me spoiled, backlog til i die.
Don't have buyer's remorse! It's an excellent game and Vita titles need sellthrough or we won't get more. Consider it a down payment on good content to come :)

It could be worse. You could have bought SS for $22 after liking the demo, let it sit on your shelf for several months and ultimately decide it's really not your cup of tea after two hours of gameplay.

But at least you were able to sell that physical copy.

I got a good deal and bought it when it came out and after two hours of gameplay I was like "agh this was not a good purchase" but as I gave it more time and got access to easier-to-use and better offerings it certainly grew on me and after putting about 70-75 hours into it I look back on it fondly.

I'm glad other people will get to try the game out, they definitely could have given far worse for PS+ for the month.

I will likely give it another go once it comes to PS+. But the levels and enemies just felt oh so repetitive. And as a wise woman once eloquently said: Ain't nobody got time for that.

The fun is the online. Join a few high level groups online and you'll get better offerings and can go through the single player with them without the grinding that offline play can require if you want top shelf stuff.

It would be better with voice chat, though :whistle2:(
