Cool, Sony just offered me $5 in my SEN wallet for doing a 1 month free trial of Music Unlimited, which I fully intend to cancel as soon as I get the voucher for the $5. :)
I got that as well. Would be nice to have the $5 credited during these sales but it's free either way so worst case I'll just grab an add-on that never goes on sale or lots of avatars.

Don't use a smart phone so I guess I'll see how the Vita support is. Looks like a halfway decent catalogue. Not like I'm searching for some super obscure bands that nobody has ever heard of, though.

Am I going crazy thinking that this here Music Unlimited thingy really isn't that bad? It got me re-acquainted with alot of old bands and artists that I used to listen to in the early 2000s. I was pretty surprised.

I liked it a lot during my free trial. It's just too expensive for me. I'd do a year for $30, though, and am bummed I missed the $12 deal that happened a while back.

It serves its purpose but Spotify is a much better service. The MU app has given me a lot of issues in the past year. Definitely worth the $15 I have paid for 15 months but I would not pay full price for it just for the fact that I use it on my iPhone more than PS3/4/Vita

It has music and that is good. The rest is terrible. If you haven't used Spotify I could see that it would seem pretty good, but in comparison it is awful. I will say one positive thing, though, something that Spotify does not have and I really wish it did - you can add albums (or songs) to a virtual library in MU, and then you can browse your virtual collection. That is a great feature. In Spotify all you can do is make playlists. Still, everything else about Spotify is so much better (and more reliable).

Also I'll say that I haven't tried the iOS app yet. So far I have only tried the web page, which is really bad. Maybe I'll like it more once I mess with the iPhone app….

MLB The Show price drops have terrible timing. It seems like whenever it finally drops, I had JUST gotten over it and look forward to the next. Even at $10, I can't justify it as ill be getting 14 in a few months. Knee deep in my 13 career mode on vita anyway

I am especially disinterested since The Show will be on PS4 soon enough.

So far I'm enjoying One Piece. It's refreshing to just kill enemies and run around. I used to watch the anime but I'm now on the manga, and it's really nice to feel like part of the story (even if it doesn't exactly unfold like in this game).

I'd say that it's because there are a ton of enemies that the characters feel powerful (well, like in the story, heck, even Nami!).

I ended up having the same thoughts about MLB. 13 was really good, but we're only a couple months out from 14 and this is typically the one game I usually get with out fail every year.

Here's an interesting comment, probably just in reference to upcoming sales over there though:

I would hold off on both of those for now

I'm sure Atlus and 2K Games would just love that a Sony employee is telling people to hold off on buying their games.

Shite... of course, now that I've invested $18 into Persona.  Oh well :)  Do I need to now pre-second guess purchases because of PS+?  Seems counter productive.

There are games worth paying for even when Plus renders them free. Because they're awesome an deserve the financial support that'll get more product in the future. Persona 4 Golden is certainly in that category. Won't ever second guess my $20 purchase.

Like I said, I really don't think those hints were that those games were going to be free in PS+.  I think the hints involved them being part of Europe's 12 Deals of Christmas promo that is currently going on.  Both those games (P4G and Infinite) are prime sales candidates and are games that have been on sale several times already.

agree it very good game am happy it going free " if it does" to let more people play rpg's as it one of the betters worth your time

I'm really not sure I like RPGs of the Persona sort. I hope it goes free for PS+ so I can try it without having to pay for it. :) I'm worried I will regret the $20 or whatever.

I'm the same way. I would be comfortable paying $12-$15 for the retail version or less than $10 for the digital. I want to check it out but I don't want to regret my purchase.

True and I'm not sure that Persona 4 has been < $20 yet during these sales?

I loved the actual RPG parts of Persona 4. Going into the dungeons and all that. Couldn't give two turds about the whole high school dating sim aspect. Thanks Tyler for starting the monthly Persona discussion.

I'm super excited for the PS4 version. The little they've shown looks leaps and bounds better than MLB 13 did and they're finally going to be making it so that you can carry over your career and franchies to the following years. Hopefully the next gen will also help eliminate that problem that the end of this generation games have had where you play it enough and eventually you start seeing past the curtain to the limited possible outcomes of a play.

No, not with the italics like he wrote it. Then it's Uncle Jesse from Full House.
Not the slightest clue what you mean, but I laughed heartily. Anyway, down in the south we throw "have mercy/lordtt jezus/gahhdamn" around at everything. So, it can definitely go both ways.

Pretty much my feelings. Liked the combat and persona concept. I even enjoyed the story and characters. Music was awesome as well. Just wasn't a huge of a fan of the social links/high school dating stuff. It is an amazing game (one worth owning), but I don't think it's as transcendent as people suggest. If you don't like these sort of JRPGs, I don't see it changing your mind.

A bit of an odd question. Does the code that comes in new copies of Unit 13 give you a download to the full game as well? I redeemed it on my PS4 like a week or two ago, was on my Vita today when I noticed not only did I have the pass on my account, but could download the full game as well.

I would absolutely play it again if something crazy happened and they ported it to PS3. I played through twice to get the platinum and I tried so hard to not skip anything during the first play through, but honestly I just got to the point where I didn't care whether or not this chick wanted to date me or who I should ask to the carnival. Second play through I skipped just about all the dialogue and spent a lot more time fighting and murdering things.

I hope that's true, it's a really good brain training type game. Some of the high level stuff is hard as all get out.
Is it fun-hard or just hard-hard? I just picked it up on some Black Friday sales but haven't got a chance to play it yet since I've been working on beating and reselling Muramasa.

Is it fun-hard or just hard-hard? I just picked it up on some Black Friday sales but haven't got a chance to play it yet since I've been working on beating and reselling Muramasa.
Both - a couple of the training games are just frustrating crap (again, fuck gyroscope movement), but they're in the minority. If you like math (and I know you do!) you'll get a kick out of the whole math section even on the most brutal difficulty. I really think Smart As is highly underrated, but I put something on the order of 100-150 hours in to the Brain Training games on DS so what do I know. I also have around 200+ hours in New York Times Crosswords on DS too, still play it every single night before bed.

I suck at crossword puzzles. I do have a couple crosswords games on my iPhone and every once in a blue moon I fire one up, load a new puzzle, and proceed to cheat for perhaps 25% of the clues in order to finish it.

I have that same NYT Crossword game. Can't say I've played it recently, but I used to play it all of the time. It was by far the best Crossword puzzle game I've been able to find, the stylus input works wonderfully. Have to admit, I could usually get through the Tuesday puzzle and sometimes Wednesday, but Thursday-Sunday would eat me alive.

A bit of an odd question. Does the code that comes in new copies of Unit 13 give you a download to the full game as well? I redeemed it on my PS4 like a week or two ago, was on my Vita today when I noticed not only did I have the pass on my account, but could download the full game as well.
As far as I know it was only for the online pass but that would be pretty interesting if it somehow unlocked the full game. I should check on my Vita. I had the physical game but sold it after finishing it...but I did use the online pass before getting rid of it. Are you sure it's not a demo that you can download?

It's a pretty rare day that I can do a Thursday without my wife's help, but she seems to cruise through them. You're spot on though, without question the greatest crossword game I've ever seen.
