On bright side, the only killer app at launch imo is demons souls ($70 is steep though).

One thing mentioned earlier, the value of the PS5 for PS4 games might be significant based on the degree of improvement without any added development (load times, fps, resolution) ... especially if psvr games get better resolution.

Discover also has 5% for using PayPal going on as well currently. Not sure if they stack.
 
I think Amazon and Walmart are the best bets for PS5 preorders. I like Target way more than Walmart as a store, but I have to give Walmart credit for stepping up their online order game in the last year. Amazon has gotten slower, but part of that is because I dropped Prime. I’m jumping back on Prime (30 day free trial, then $12.99 a month) to get 2 day shipping (and the Boys/Grand Tour) between now and launch.

I don’t have an article to back it up, but I’m assuming anything that can play on the PS4 ecosystem will also be able to play on the PS5. I know they’ve said 99%, but I read that as including anything on PSN you can play on PS4.

I’m also glad it’s been confirmed that usb hard drives can be attached to the PS5 to play PS4 games (just not PS5 titles).
 
Insomniac is giving anybody that owns Spider-Man on PS4 the PS5 version remaster for free! No need to buy that overpriced Miles Morales edition to get it now. They just tweeted about it.

I think the reason they've re-released it NMS: Beyond, then taken to Game Pass, now this, is to continue to make what they can off the project.  Which in my book is fine if they're doing a good job with updates and such.  No firsthand experience but I've heard the improvements have been significant.  Wouldn't be shocked to see the new version of NMS for the new consoles.

Haven't paid attention to the game at all since launch; are they going to update the game for PS5 with a patch? They can finally deliver on the game shown at E3 all those years ago. :rofl:

I wanted to play No Man's Sky but waited and waited for it to drop under $20.

And it never did.

Even if it dropped under $10 now, I don't see me getting it for PS4 at this point.

I guess I'll just hope for a PS5 version.

Yeah, I should have specified digital.

For some reason, I feel that certain games should be physical and some should be digital.

NMS should be digital, like Burnout Paradise, MInecraft, Everybody Golf and other games that I think I'll play in short bursts...even though I play them for hours at a pop.

But Final Fantasy, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Spiderman and the like should be physical. It's like those games are more....official?

I'm like so random.

Eh, I'll just wait for PS5 I guess.

AKA, the patch that should've been the release version after a real beta test. I like the game but it should not have been released in the state it was. They should've just waited to launch it alongside next gen, but I guess they wanted to get some sales before the holiday blockbusters hit.

Game had its share of issues but it wasn’t NEARLY as bad as people made it out to be. I do agree that these issues should have been addressed day1, but hey at least they are being addressed.

Sounds exactly like something a passive aggressive asshole would say.

There’s nothing passive aggressive about me. I’m an asshole to those who just can’t seem to focus on gaming conversation.
 
Guys, I just don't know. I'm trying to play Sekiro but I just can't get it. After like 10 deaths I finally took out the guy guarding the first gate in the game, only to be one shot by rando dudes on the other side. Now I can get past most of the randos only to be destroyed again by some hammer swinging troll/giant within seconds of seeing me.

Is this one of those games that is more difficult at the beginning before you start opening up skills and enhancing your life bar or is this pretty much what to expect from the whole thing? If it is I don't think I have the energy to knuckle up and git gud, and I'd rather just move on to something less soul crushing.

It takes some time before it clicks. I died against Lady Butterfly over 100 times, but once I learned to beat her the game was easier and more fun after that. Now I think of it as one of my favorites of all time. (Even though I just couldn't get into Bloodborne).

I had similar struggles in the beginning. I wouldn't necessarily say it gets easier but you understand better the way the game is played and it will flow better for you after a few hours. But at the end of the day gaming should be fun and if you aren't having fun probably just move on. It's definitely not for everyone. I was never able to get into the dark souls games but for some reason Nioh and Sekiro clicked for me.

If it makes you feel any better, it took my 12 year old nephew 70 to 80 hours to get the Platinum trophy. Watching him play it didn't look that bad. You just have to break the enemies posture.

I've played through games like Ninja Gaiden Black, Sigma, DMC highest settings, Shinobi PS2. Just haven't got around to Sekiro. Waiting for that PS5 60fps backwards compatibility.

Probably not a popular opinion but I wasn’t a big fan of Sekiro. It dropped a lot of the style I enjoyed from Dark Souls / Bloodborne in favor of more grounded supernatural designs. My biggest issue was that it forced a very specific play style that relied on parrying and perfect timing. Yes, the other souls games call for the same skills to beat them, but you had more choice and flexibility. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad game but it wasn’t one I was compelled to keep playing. Really looking forward to Elden Ring because I think it will recapture much of what was lost in Sekiro.
 
So according to the PlayStation site, Spider-Man Remastered is 55 GB (Miles Morales is 50 GB).  Spider-Man is 72.5 GB on my PS4, so here’s an example where removing duplicate assets reduced the install size.
