Holy shit that's tempting. But can it go even lower?

Still no mention of a GotY/Complete edition in physical form, I take it?
Since no one answered your question and rudely ignored it:

Yes this can go lower. The price is $23.99 currently so theoretically can be reduced by another $23.98 before it's just given away for free.

You should also consider that this game is definitely going to be on PS Plus soon since it meets all the requirements of past PS Plus games:

1. It's available on PS4

It could drop to the price Horizon Zero Dawn complete edition if the put out a physical copy of the deluxe. I’m guessing when the complete edition is physical it will start at $30. I don’t have plus but I’ll probably pick it up at $30 since I’d be surprised if it went on sale again before Black Friday.

Dang quite a few games I'm interested in:

Kingdom hearts all in one
Spider man + DLC
Vampyr
Plague tale

Decisions decisions

Eh, if you prefer physical, both The Story So Far and KH3 have hit $20 and will do so again, Vampyr is bound to hit $10 unless they suddenly add a lot of content, and Plague is def. gonna come down in price.

But of you want to play now or soon, I'd say Spidey for quality of content at a great price, or All-in-One for sheer amount of stuff you get for the price tag.
Even on the physical side for S-M, you'd have to get the base game at $10 and the DLC at close to 50% off to beat the price, which is not very likely.

Spider-man is by far the best deal in that list for price/quality/soon(tm) ratios, in my personal opinion anyway =)

Makes me slightly regret grabbing Spidey at 30, have to hope dlc eventually goes. It's annoying me how it's less than even a normal sale on the dlc alone.

I think Horizon's prices have ruined me on Sony game sales.  I've seen the Complete Edition as low as $10, which is a damn steal.

With Spidey, the debate comes from that combination of "I don't have a lot of money to throw around at the moment" and "I probably wouldn't get around to it until it's on sale for cheaper anyway".

That’s a good point. As well received and great the game is, it still doesn’t have the name weight as other games. Spider-man’s name alone is reason enough to keep it’s price up.

I’m not sure how getting it will fit in with the other games I play; especially since most of my time is spent on my Xbox. That’s the only thing keeping myself from pulling the trigger.

Did they reprint The Story So Far? At some point I recalled it going up in price.

Question: How does the Assassin's Creed Triple Pack (Black Flag, Unity, Syndicate) work for downloading? After purchasing, can I choose to download one of the games at a time, or do I HAVE to download a massive file with all three games?

EDIT: It looks like purchase of this bundle DOES let you download them separately, confirmed after my purchase.

i finally 100% ac odyssey including all dlc and i have to say how boring it was. So much repetitive gameplay, fetching this, running here, leveling up but everything scaling making you feel the same as you did in the beginning just with a few more buttons and knowledge.

I know thats kinda how video games are described in a nutshell but this one was like pulling teeth for me. A few battles were really neat, fighting some of the large mythical creatures. But everything else was just a yawn of go here stab that loot that crap. Sad because I wanted to like it.

isn't that what Assassins Creed has always been? I never liked those games and I've tried most of them

Thanks for the input. I'll probably hold off. I beat Spiderman already but never got the DLC, would be fun to go back to it and have it when PS5 is out in the future.

i finally 100% ac odyssey including all dlc and i have to say how boring it was.

I think my OCD got in the way of logic centers back in the day because I feel your pain. I look back at some games I platted and wonder why the hell I didn't just quit playing a game when I was done or it genuinely bored me. Nowadays the backlog is a healthy reminder that I don't have to get trophies or even finish a game I'm hating. There's always that little part of me that wants to go back and finish a game, but I realize now I'm forcing myself to finish lol.

I think SP games are also becoming less appealing without some sort of MP or asynchronous play for me. Perhaps a sign that games have finally plateaued?

Plague Tale is something I've never heard of and looks awesome. Hoping it goes way cheaper by BF as I'll be keeping an eye out.
Just to chime in, I was very surprised by A Plague Tale. I didn't expect it to be as polished as it was, and for once the ending didn't suck (unlike most non-Japanese games I've played lately).

Protip: Unless you hate subtitles with a passion, I highly highly recommend playing it with French audio and English subtitles. It truly makes the game more immersive and the French voice-acting was superb.

Frankly, holding out for Plus is criminal for a game like this. Granted, it's Spider Man: Arkham Asylum but is just as tight and well-executed as its forebearer. Plus better lit and and a lot less grimdark (funny too).

As someone said, it's easily worth $30, but considering the DLC was pretty close to $25 to begin with, it's an absolute steal, just for the additional costumes and story alone.

I got bored of Spider Man and never finished it. But to each their own...

I will say that it was fun and impressive for the first few hours, but then started to feel tedious and repetitive relatively quickly.

The only games I feel the need to add to my backlog are Spiderman and Far Cry 5/New Dawn. And every time they're on sale, it's a non-pay week after we've already set our budget and there's no real extra "spending money" to go around. So I always wait.

Name a game that hasn't.

Games are essentially just that: doing the same thing over and over, just a little differently, be it video or reality.

You run the ball down to one end, back to the other. You swing at a ball. You kick a ball. You swing down Broadway, you swing down 34th.

The variety was great I felt with the challenges and side missions--plus Pete cracking wise while kicking a$$ is way better than a guy with pointed ears just grunting and slugging.

To each their own.

I will say this though: Insomniac is a great company--not just in their games but in treating their employees well. They have been ranked in national top employers a few times for "best places to work". Also for fans too--not many developers hold fan days and invite them to lunch, hand out scads of good prizes and meet the entire staff and tour the studio.

They deserve every dollar for Spidey and all their other wares (save for Fuse--but that may have been a Sony decision to retool what would have otherwise been an amazing game--find the original teaser trailer vs the final result).

I mean, these were the guys and gals that gave the world Spyro and Ratchet & Clank.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Platted this about two weeks ago and loved every moment of it. Even through the gameplay loop was as basic as it gets, I never felt like it was tedious or repetitive -- even when I was grinding for more shards. By the time I platted it, I sunk in 40 hours, was level 99 and had all passive shards maxed. Yet I was still looking to do more and had the game showing up in my dreams. I was up until 3 in the morning with work the following day just because I couldn't drag myself away from it.

I absolutely agree with this. I've always ranked Insomniac pretty high up there. Spidey was great in my opinion, even if the DLC's difficulty spike drove me crazy quite a few times, and I would love for a new Ratchet & Clank to come out.

The thing I liked about Spidey's ramping up is that it was NATURAL. It made sense. The mafia got their hands on hardware and slowly adapted first by taking up the weapons and then the armor for a final pain (the final battle was bananas, took me about a dozen restarts/checkpoints to finish, which when done I was like "wait, what? That's it?" until I realized they really had tied up loose ends--see the side mission about the mafia killer).

It's a great example of an organic evolution in a game, vs The Division 2's BS "oh, this is a level 30 area with the exact same four enemies, same guns and armor, only their usual weapons now down you in a single shot because you're level 22". I also like that MJ was an investigative reporter that tied in well with Pete's actions rather than the comic supermodel version she was for so long before finally becoming a Spider-hero herself in the future. Plus she didn't need rescuing all the time (plus half of them were kind of the result of her snooping around too deep, so there's that).

Anyways, back on topic, $23 is beyond great for CAG's. that's a $60 AAA + three DLC +costumes for about 75% off MSRP.

So are the 20% off codes you get with a Pro, gone or changed?

Used to be able to buy some online for $5 on ebay, now don't see any.

Did they change something?

Lol... Fuse... I was looking at it in my game room yesterday thinking “Man, you sucked. What went wrong?” No joke. Seriously yesterday.

Metal Wolf Chaos is really fun so far. Not even ashamed that I paid full price either. Hopefully there'll be a sequel one day if it sells well enough.

Sometimes I feel like other people don't like video games as much as I do.

I'm starting to feel like this for video games in general. I think I'm done with them. I'm just gonna download some emulators on my phone and play some classics when I feel an itch to play a game.
For those of you who claim to be getting "bored" of video games, you do know there are many different genres of games out there, encompassing more than just killing and looting? Either expand your horizons beyond the AAA flavor of the month or take a break whenever you're feeling worn down from the same old slog. For that reason, I generally play games that can be finished in a couple days so I always have something different to play. I've held off on the new AC games (or RDR2 or Days Gone) for so long because I know they're such a time pit. I prefer games around the length of God of War or Spider-Man where it generally doesn't outstay its welcome, and usually avoid DLC unless it's something that personally interests me. I think the most time I've ever played one game is GTAV, and half of that was spent loitering in strip clubs.

Especially when it comes to 100%'ing a 40+ hour game you didn't really feel that much in the first place, it's definitely going to lead to faster fatigue and feelings of disappointment in the end. You've got to know when to cut your losses and move on. (I need to take my own advice, too.)

Plague Tale is something I've never heard of and looks awesome. Hoping it goes way cheaper by BF as I'll be keeping an eye out.
To be honest, if you hate The Last of Us with a passion, I can't really see you loving this one any better. I really enjoyed it, but mostly because of the relationship between the characters (like Last of Us, God of War, Detroit, etc.). For some people, that's not enough though. There are a lot of stealthy portions in the game that made me think back to TLoU.

Anyone try Dollhouse? Tempted at $24
I've heard it's pure dookie. I'm waiting for it to fall sub-$10 before I even consider it.

Yup, they became a bunch of selfish, greedy, arrogant, stingy, worthless pieces of fucking shit.

I’m on the opposite end of the spectrum with Assassins Creed the past two games. I thought Origins and Odyssey were amazing. I’m currently working through the dlc but I only get to play either 0-2.5 hrs a day at home. I feel like the pst three Creed games have had DLC that was better than the base game itself.

I have loved the Assassin’s Creed games since they first came out. I’m glad they’ve evolved the playstyle as the series has continued. I understand why it’s not for everyone but I love the gameplay, the stories and the environments. The Far Cry series is another favorite of mine and it’s changed less. I play a good variety of games but there are some that just hit that sweet spot for me. If there is some repetitiveness, it’s a welcome one for me.

i find most western aaa games to be extremely boring. I highly prefer the more varied niche genres and low budget quirky videos games. This keeps gaming fresh for me always. Thou i still enjoy Japanese aaa games.

Making assumptions about people with zero information to base your assumptions on and then giving condescending advice based on said asinine assumptions is probably why you're so lonely you made it your online identity.
so why name yourself "ticklemyfeet" on a forum which is 99.9% dudes?

I didn’t read his comment as condescending at all. You made a public comment on a forum and he responded to it. It wasn’t mean spirited, it wasn’t spiteful. Chill man.

Too easy a target. I've already embraced my loneliness.

I make assumptions based on what I read here, same as everyone else. Lately you've been posting about how you don't play much video games anymore, and how you're "done" with them, so I'm not even sure why you're here.

It's funny because most of the time I'm either being self-deprecating, or directing my anger towards corporate Sony, but when I finally decide to impart some advice to my fellow gamer, I'm accused of being condescending. Sorry if you took it that way.

This is pretty close to how I feel as well, never found myself bored of games. Especially this generation where there have been a nearly endless amount of quality indie/niche games and Japan has been on absolute fire. In particular with action games which is my bread and butter, I mean gosh Astral Chain and MHW Iceborne come out in less than 30 days, I am basically going to be in heaven.

I do still play a decent amount of western triple A games here and there but not until they get steep price cuts or they hit PS+ or something like that.

spot on except for the needless apology -- he has an opinion on everything and it is always contrarian. basically a troll

Apparently Ducktales Remastered is getting delisted in a couple days, and it's being sent off with one final sale:

http://www.capcom-unity.com/capkel/blog/2019/08/06/pick-up-ducktales-remastered-on-sale-now-before-it-leaves-digital-storefronts-starting-august-8th

All hail the digital future.
So apparently I read this wrong. DuckTales Remastered is on sale on every digital storefront except...of course...PSN. One more twist of the knife for those of us who remain faithful to those Scrooge Mcfucks. Tell me again how it's the publisher's decision to run these sales, and not Sony's...

giphy.gif

Anyway it's your last chance to get it on PS3 for full price before it's delisted tomorrow morning.
