Do any of you guys have a 2tb firecuda or another 2tb internal drive to recommend for PS4 Pro (such as the Western Digital Blue)? My Seagate that I shucked from the enclosure years back has been beeping loudly lately and also recently exited a game. Not sure if all 2tb internal HDDs beep because they draw too much power or it's just mine. Not going to go with a 2tb ssd because they're still too much.

I have the 2TB Firecuda in my X1X and it works fine. It's $60 at Amazon right now which is a good deal.

I enjoyed the gameplay in Borderlands 3 more than the previous games, but the story wasn't anywhere as close to the quality of Borderlands 2, for me anyway. Still a very enjoyable experience, but I can definitely understand it's not for everyone.

Looking at the most recent list of games on sale, I want to put a good word in on Ronin. Granted, it’s a game that won’t be for everyone, but for those that love turn-based stealth/tactical games, I think you can definitely get $2 worth of fun out of it. The campaign itself is pretty short once you get the hang of the mechanics, but there’s a new game plus that adds a new wrinkle that makes the game significantly tougher to go through a second time.

Anyway, for $2 it’s definitely worth a look.

No, 2 games each. Ps4 big games and ps5 smaller ones just like before. For me Ps+ is all about online, cloud saves and discounts for games I actually care more for. So whatever happens doesnt effect me one bit.

Days Gone has some new (added in post-launch for free) optional modes they call challenges which play very similarly to the Resident Evil series' "Mercenaries" Mode. They are an utterly fantastic, pulse pumping good time. And you can get unlocks in the main game that give some minor upgrades for doing them. Highly recommended.

I don't believe they go away. Microsoft never blinked when Sony dropped down to 2 games a month. In fact I expect Sony to continue to evolve PS Now more into the Game Pass model than anything.

Funny that Sony keeps removing value like dropping down to 2 games a month and taking away trophy rewards, while Microsoft is doing the opposite. They recently just added new daily weekly and monthly rewards on top of the weekly and monthly rewards they already had. And Game Pass is incredible value and is usually able to be obtained just using rewards points or even free as was the case with the XO19 giveaway. Microsoft even gave away random $5 and $10 Xbox credits for black Friday, something Sony use to do. To be honest, I'm not sure how any CAG doesn't have an Xbox and Game Pass Ultimate paid out for 3 years.

Ps+ isnt just for free games, which people seem to always forget. I would prefer better deals then free games these days as well as free themes and avatars like in the beginning. Cloud service and other services as well as play online with free games for $60 a year or lower doing black Friday is good enough for me. Microsoft even gave away random $5 and $10 Xbox credits for black Friday, something Sony use to do. To be honest, I'm not sure how any CAG doesn't have an Xbox and Game Pass Ultimate paid out for 3 years.

I think it's interesting how much Microsoft and Sony have diverged in console strategy. MS is aggressively building netflix-for-games, pushing backwards compatibility, and allowing PC users access to exclusives. Their strategy right now is flagrantly generous, but that's not going to last forever. Everything they do now is an investment to capitalize later. That's pretty much what their business strategy is defined by right now, down to all of the studios they're purchasing. I am very excited to see what's next for them.

By contrast, Sony's reaping the rewards of past investments right now while pushing VR to moderate success alongside an impressive first-party line up of single player titles. PSnow is a thing still, I guess? PSVue has been shut down... They abandoned the Vita and it took them forever to open up their smartphone streaming app to everyone when they could've done it right away. Remember the PSTV? 2 games a month instead of six... No presence at E3. Also, I feel like the PS4's OS ultimately failed to grow and realize the promise of what seemed possible at launch. I hate using the store.

I know I sound down about Sony, but I will definitely be buying a PS5 because I already have a PC. I don't need an Xbox for exclusives. I'm hoping they have some big announcements this year and that Ghosts of Tsukiwhatever actually plays well.

Ps+ isnt just for free games, which people seem to always forget. I would prefer better deals then free games these days as well as free themes and avatars like in the beginning. Cloud service and other services as well as play online with free games for $60 a year or lower doing black Friday is good enough for me. It could be worse, they could make online free like people always whine about but include ads like those free streaming services which no one wants.

The games you could play on game pass and not have to buy on PSN would more than supplement the $100 or so dollars it cost to get a SAD Xbox on black Friday add another $35 for a year of gold, use the $1 deal to convert it to Game Pass Ultimate, then use the rewards system to keep the ultimate sub going indefinitely. You'd easily come out ahead.

Definitely sounds like a great deal on paper. I just wish Sony had enough respect for their fanbase to throw us a frickin' bone every now and again, instead of trying to tear us apart. I feel like I'm trapped in an abusive relationship.

They skipped out on flash sales for the last couple months. I still have some faint hope in our annual 5-week holiday sale tradition, though I'm reminded we didn't even have a midyear sale this year... That's merely to say every time I've ever been hopeful about something, it's usually followed by bitter, crushing disappointment.

Yeah I think this is the big issue for me as well. I just got gifted one of those gamestop $99 Xbox Ones and I am terribly unimpressed by game pass. Not really much of a Japanese presence on the service (niche or not) and most of the western AAA games are also on PS Now or have given many of their games away on PS+ in the past. Game pass is padded out with THQ, WB, and Bethesda games all of which are big on PS as well. Feels like the main difference is the first party stuff and Microsoft really lost me with their first party output this gen honestly.

I think the only real draw is for the extra bing points, but I personally do not think it is worth buying an entire console for that if you already have a PS4 and especially a PC. Multiple people have already said it in this thread but the whole reward thing and super cheap ultimate propping it up is not going to last forever. I give it like 3 years before xbox communities start to have the attitude playstation ones have where they say everything sucks and Microsoft hates them.

I honestly only wanted an Xbox One X for Phantasy Star Online 2. Since Microsoft bought the USA exclusive rights to it for a year. Meaning that if it did come out on the PS4 in America, it wouldn't be until almost a year after the PS5 had been out.
And, the 4K Blu-Ray player is neat. I also like that it can play a lot of my old 360 and original Xbox games. Since my 360 is dying.

You can turn that feature off. I've uploaded tons of saves and barely have 1% used. MS is killing it right now with features because they have to. Sony obliterated them this generation and they're setting up for next gen. It feels a bit like before the 360 and PS3 hit, will be interesting to see how it plays out. Nice to see so many multi system gamers here, fanboyism needs to vanish. I main on PS, but I really enjoy my X too! I hope we get more cross play in the future because that's been needing to happen for years.

I'll always own the latest sony console because I like meaty Japanese games and Sony's first party studios. For me, it isn't really a question of whether or not I'm going Microsoft or Sony next generation, so much as whether or not I'm doing both. For now, it's Sony only because my PC makes having an xbox redundant.

  It seems like these days there are not as many exclusives going around besides nintendo of course and their ips.  Which is both good and bad.  The lack of exclusive offerings give less of a reason to pick up a system over another.  But the competition works out well for us since prices are lower than they have been in quite some time and many games are available on multiple platforms and pc.  I never thought bamco would ever release tales games on multiple platforms let alone pc.

Only real issue now is that since sony is currently in the lead position they are getting lax and not offering as good stuff deals wise as they were just last year or so.
