I just defeated the last Valkyrie and then completed God of War main story today, and wow. I only played a little bit of part 3 and I have a sealed copy of GoW collection for PS3, I don’t think I played them on PS2. Dunno why but I just didn’t have time or just never got into GoW until this one. I guess I did all the side missions first and the ending caught me by surprise, I didn’t realize defeating that one guy was the final boss, I thought someone was gonna show up on top of the mountain. But that one last revelation was dope, the secret ending too. Too bad the other realms are unavailable, I wanted more. Had to search online to make sure I didn’t miss anything and I didn’t. Epic game, I want more ha. May get the remaster of GoW3 if it gets cheap again but I know it’s a different type of game.

So quick question, I bought Spider-man Game of the Year disc version, but it seems to need to download the whole game. Bigger problem is it won't let me download it when I put to sleep because I think for some reason it treats it like it's loading the information from the disc. Is there anyway to get around this so I can let it download in it's sleep or am I stuck leaving my PS4 on for a few hours while it downloads it?

If you look at the icon for the game there is a bar below it that shows the download progress off the disc. Once this is complete the rest of the downloads (updates, dlc, etc.) Can be done when the console is asleep. Usually this doesn't take very long, maybe like 20 minutes tops in my experience.

It's saying it's an update, but everytime I leave it to sleep it resets and it's 14.5GB and it doesn't look or sound like it's loading anything from the disc except maybe as a form of verification.

Weird, I've never had issues downloading a game update while the console is asleep as far as I'm aware... Maybe someone else knows what's going on.

Edit: Do you have your console settings set to allow downloads while in rest mode?

With disc games, I always leave the data cord plugged into the back of the PS4 until the disc install starts and then I disconnect the cord. The disc data will install, but the update doesn't since the update requires the Internet. Since I don't play online anyway and my Plus has run out, this seems to work for most of the disc games that I buy.

Yup, it's set to do everything still while it sleeps and this is the first time I ever experienced it too. Was just curious if something happened or if this was similar to something like Doom where even if you have the disc it uses that as access to download the whole game instead of just updating it.

Yeah, should've thought of that now to see if it makes any difference, but I'm 14GB in and I still think it has to download the rest of the game.

Finished Life is Strange 2 - got the darkest/worst ending.  Square posted a video with all the endings on YouTube.  They're all fleshed out and dependent on your actions throughout the game, unlike the first game.

After watching some YouTube reactions to the LIS1 connection in episode 5, you'd have to think that Square would be pushing for a direct LIS1 sequel to be made.

God of war is a definite must play for any parent.... heck anyone really but I had a few moments that made me tear up with the bonding between father and son. The rebellious moments made me want to break out a paddle however.  Say whatever one more time I dare you! THATS A PADDLIN!

I got the low morality endings too (you can replay the last chapter and do the opposite choice for the other one), but yeah, I thought it was really cool of the official channel to put up all the endings (4 + 3 variations) to save us another playthrough. All of them are kind of touching and poignant in their own way. I hope the season did well enough to justify a LiS3, whether it reprise old characters or not. Something about the music and overall atmosphere of these games really puts me in a relaxed state of mind.

I'm also hoping for a 3rd Dontnod LIS game. The release schedule and the backlash to no Chloe/Max hurt LiS2 unfortunately.

The content of all the games has touched me very personally. I lost my only sister to suicide the year before Life is Strange came out. She was an avid gamer and photographer. The last game that she was excited about having played and talked to me about was Walking Dead Season 1. The first LiS game really helped me cope with my loss. It sounds weird but playing the games help me feel like I'm keeping my connection with her. It saddens me she never got to play it because I know she would have loved it.

Dontnod has Tell Me Why coming out next year, but it's PC/Xbox exclusive (I'll be playing with Game Pass).

Damn that's rough to hear, sorry for your loss. Glad you found a way to cope with the grief especially the pain that suicide so often causes.

I bought a pre-owned Vita on Black Friday from GameStop to replace the Vita that I accidentally destroyed in the washing machine earlier this year.  I tried to do the thing where I can deactivate all my systems and add the new Vita to my PSN account.  It said that the deactivation went through, but what actually happened is that it deactivated all but my original Vita and my PlayStation TV.  However, I was able to download games to my PS4 and my PSTV after the fact.  I haven't checked either of my PS3s.

Anyway, how am I able to get the original Vita removed from my PSN account if I can't even turn it on?  Apparently, you can only deactivate all your PS systems once every six months, and I've already used up my one shot.  The pre-owned Vita cost me $70, so I probably need to return it if I can't play my games on it.  And I don't really want to hack it.  I have enough Chinese handhelds on which to play retro games.

this isnt going to be much help, but i have an old vita on my account, and even when i deactivate all devices it stays on the account. i no longer have the vita so i cant deactivate from the system itself either. however, i think you can have 2 vitas on your account? so your new one isn't completely useless.

How did you get it for $70? With rewards certificates? I thought it was supposed to be $99 otherwise.

There's a 4 for $20 sale online on GS's website, and a lot of great $9.99 Vita games qualify if they're still in stock: Dragon's Crown, Sonic Racing, Wipeout, Tearaway...

Yup, I used rewards certificates and discounted GameStop gift cards. And the return period is up since it's pre-owned.

The PSTV counts as a Vita on my account, and there are certain Vita games that won't work on a PSTV. So, half of my digital Vita games won't work on the PSTV.

Just bought a PS4 slim black Friday week. What should I be doing with the warranty? I tried searching "warranty" on PSN but nothing popped up. I remember there was a warranty for additional year for $50 but can't find it now.

How can I extend the warranty like I used to years ago and where do I register?

If there has been some change let me know what the best course of action is for a new PS4 owner.
Extended warranties aren't a good deal unless of course you get unlucky and your console breaks. That being said, if you do want an extended warranty on your PS4, you can purchase one from SquareTrade.

Yeah, I can't say I'm shocked either considering Sony never implemented a way to outright buy a title for permanent access if you'd previously gotten it through PS Plus and your membership is still active.
It really is amazing how bad their backend infrastructure devs and programmers are.

if your console ever starts doing anything funny and its over a year old, just trade her in for a newer model. they have trade promos all the time. my launch ps4 was loud no matter how well i cleaned it after taking it apart. I got a $200 credit trade deal at gamestop and a $300 pro to replace it. gave them my junkiest controller too so I got a new one of those. Basically paid $100 to upgrade instead of dropping money on a warranty.

That's on purpose. It mucks up the interface for something almost nobody ever wants to do. Right now, the buy button simply turns into a download button in the store if you are licensed. They would need to have a download and a buy button for ps+ games, which would be ok for expert users like us, but confusing for casual users. Plus, it's extra work and qa for something almost nobody actually does, and when they do do, are only spending a couple bucks since the game is on sale.

Where can I buy £Psn credit at?looking to buy dishonor collection from EU store and use the 30% that was being sent via email a week ago.
I always buy international psn credit from offgamers.net. Always cheaper than the currency exchange rates. First time buyers require verification with a texted pin, but it's painless after that. Codes are delivered quickly and I've never had a problem using their codes for UK, HK, and JPN. Most denominations have a standard price and a 'discount promo' price... be sure to scroll their listings until you see the cheaper version. There is a small paypal transaction fee added at checkout, so it's a little more than the price on the listings, but still cheaper than amazon, play-asia, ebay etc.

Also, there are some good deals in the December Sales for other regions that aren't in the US sale. The HK store has a 30% discount on Hardcore Mecha (in English), which isn't available in the US yet, and the UK store has the Badlands Publisher Collection on sale with 13 games for 25GBP... even cheaper if you got the % off e-mail.

One extra button mucks up the interface? Really? Xbox manages to have this ability without "mucking up the interface" and it quite clearly explains when you own a game as part of Games With Gold while still giving you the ability to buy it to keep.

Don't give much of a damn about Sony, I just work in IT. Not a damn chance I'd okay a project that made an interface clumsier just so people who can already play a game for free might buy it on sale for $1. Zero upside, all downside.

But hey, blame defense force when you have nothing else to offer.

Yes, and that requires spending resources on the existing store to appease the small group of people who want to buy a game they can already play. I didn't say it was impossible, of course it's possible, just that the cost/benefit analysis is pretty bleak. It's at the bottom of any priority list by definition. Why pay someone to even bother, there are countless other store improvements that would be a better use of resources [improve wishlists, gifting, better organization, etc] and would benefit more users.

Now, sure, if i designed it from scratch i'd probably think to include that feature. It's a nice to have. But as a feature after the fact? Nah, waste of resources. Think of how much better most storefronts are. This is nothing compared to the flaws of the store that need improvement [hence the defense force comment above being retarded - the store is absolutely terrible, i wouldn't defend it for a second]. Heck, i'd probably shit on the store's design more than most, especially since i have a vita. Heck, doesn't it strike anyone odd we need frisky just to be able to easily go through sales and we can't easily use the site itself? Terrible design.
Doesn't mean they're wrong not to fix this, tho.

Like I said, Xbox already does this without making the interface clumsier. Also, what of people who don't always maintain constant active subscriptions? The upside is those people can buy a game on sale to keep it if they know they might let their subscription lapse soon. I really don't know why you're putting in so much effort to defend Sony on this.

I honestly don't understand why people are blindly loyal to one game console over another. All huge corporations suck. Defending them just feels childish. They don't care about us at all, they just want our money. So, saying one giant corporation is better than the other, is like saying that Cancer is better than AIDS.

It's true; the only reason I sought out and stick by this thread is because the PSN Store is so slow and horrible to navigate, it doesn't even let you know which new sale items have been added. If any of us should be pissed about it, it's Frisky.

I can't wait till my Plus runs out so I can buy some of those $1 games I already "own." Though without that Plus discount, it might not even be worth it anymore. It's just pretty lazy and stupid not to allow you to buy things if you want them. Then again, it took them like 13 years to allow us to change our PSN IDs, so I guess we shouldn't be surprised that they're resistant to change.

”Why pay someone to do something simple in the short term when it would make way more money in the long term.”

What you’re saying is nonsense, IT person or not.

That last Valkyrie was a fucking cunt lol

My ps store isnt slow unless you looking a the web version. Yeah they should do another revamp on the store letting us know what's new. Also to let us buy ps+ games while on the subscription.
