I'm hoping Ghost of Tsushima gets the same. I don't want to buy it this summer for PS4 and then see a PS5 version when they launch it I'll have to rebuy.

It was a pretty entertaining story, but it is literally 95% still images, text (with a few key points having full video), and making choices, so only pick it up if a pure VN is your thing. If you want to plat it, it will take quite awhile to see all the various story branches on the flow chart and bad endings. It is not nearly as short as some of the other VN, like the ones from Wales Interactive. I imagine $10 is the best you are going to see any time soon, the previous low has been $15 the last few sales.

I did like Zero Escape series and Danganronpa a lot...but I don't go out of my way to buy VN's. If it's as good as those I might pick it up. But there was at least some puzzle/mystery solving in those games too.

I'm fine with the way things work now considering games have not really gone up in price over the years. Rather pay a lower price for the base game and get the DLC later at a good discount if I really like the game than only have the option of buying the "complete" game for $80 or $90.

Can you cancel PS+ and get back the prorated amount, based on how much you paid? I can provide receipts...

I have over 6 months left on my year of PS+ and I see option to cancel the recurring payments, but nothing to cancel subscription with immediate affect. I'd get more than $20 back if it works that way, I can buy a game or two, that I'm interested in.

I dont see the value to keep the sub but if there isnt anyway to cancel right away, it sucks but whatever.

I somehow have the digital version for PS3 (was it free?) and never made it past the first Colossus.

SONIC Forces DLC is hidden on US PSN, for some reason it's the only regional store where you can't find the content linked to the game, so you gotta browse the dlc manually, and for worse it doesn't even have the game name on it. Here's the free ones I could found, there might be more according to EU PSN and Steam DLC Pages.

Considering the US PSN Store only has a "Standard Edition"

The story is told from the perspective of several different characters which you can switch between at any time. You pick one to start and then you might hit a roadblock that stops you from progressing because you haven't completed a certain action with another character OR you might hit a roadblock / bad ending because you took a certain action with another character. So you aren't just a passive observer of the story, you have to figure out how you need to switch between characters in order to move them all forward. It uses a flow chart system not unlike the Zero Escape series. So I guess that's the closest it comes to gameplay is trying to figure out what you need to do in each character's timeline to keep them all alive.

Pretty sure with services like these your money is gone. You could make a stink with support and maybe they will give you a credit but it will require a lot of work and may not even happen.

I'm definitely with you though. I'm subbed through 2022 thanks to the cheap $20 PS+ deals around black friday 2018 but I can't say I've cared much for what they offer and I don't play online. I've passed an extending my sub further even though there have been decent deals on PS+ since. Game Pass has really killed it in the value add proposition and makes PS+ look pedestrian. Hell, I'm getting better free games on Epic Store than what Sony is offering and there is no fee there.

I understand that we're at a point in the console life cycle where no matter what game they give as part of the sub, everyone and their mom already owns it; I have no gripe about owning a "free" game - its bound to happen and doesnt bother me. The selection itself became mediocre, the options with PS+ have been lackluster - I haven't bought a game with plus discount in a long while - and I just dont see the benefit anymore. There's hardly ever a game that I want to waste my bandwidth on.

I still buy games (that go on sale); I still use the PS4 but, not the sub, especially since I dont game online. The sub does nothing for me but like you said, it is paid for and I'll just have to let it run through to its end.

I hope Sony makes it a hard decision to make when the day comes, but I seriously doubt that. The service has become stagnant and it needs a serious looking into - may be the new console changes that opinion (?).

Haven't been excited about a Plus game for a while, mainly due to already owning most of them, but I am looking forward to Sonic Forces. Thanks to the person who posted the link to the Shadow DLC especially since it has trophies.

Might be time to grab the Fire Pro Deluxe Edition. Bought the physical standard version at launch but didn't have time to play it then so I ended up returning it. Too bad they didn't add any trophies for the DLC.

I wonder what the materia is in the image?  Since that could be useful in game.  I can't tell if that one piece of equipment in the image has 2 or 4 materia slots.  I assume 2.

Nearly bought Shadow of the Colossus so many times, but there was never that irresistable of a deal so I held off. Glad I did. Looking forward to playing it next week.
