I'm trying to do the same but for some reason those editions go through the same sales cycles while I think this is like 40 buck even after the DLC is added. Waiting is always the better option but Control was/is a phenomenal game.

 
I really enjoyed Terminator Resistance, story wise it's what one of the Terminator sequels should've been and the music is perfect

the game has it's fair share of flaws with bad voice acting and dialogue, graphics look like PS3, shooting feels a bit dated but if you love Terminator it's worth checking out

the battles with the infiltrators with the T1000's music are tense

If you want to check out the base game now cheaper, it's downloadable on PS Now. I oddly wasn't too into it, so kind of glad I checked it out for the $10 subscription.

 
Any thoughts on Assassin's Creed: Origins Gold Edition for $25?

I got a platinum trophy for the base game and was curious if the season pass and DLC content was worth revisiting the game. Thanks!

Both of the AC Origins DLC are pretty good - The Hidden Ones is just like more of the main game, whereas the Curse of the Pharaohs has some really cool environments. If you enjoyed Origins then I definitely recommend the DLC, though I'm not sure if I'd pay $25 just to get the DLC part.

Thanks for the info and I traded in my physical copy a long time ago so it would be worth it to me to get the Gold edition to have the base game again. Just not sure when I'll ever get around to playing it again since I haven't even gotten to the Oddysey gold content yet lol
 
I ended up buying the DLC separate at one point, because I already had the base game, and it was cheaper than getting the Gold Edition or the Season Pass. I happen to be playing through it right now, just finished the Hidden Ones 2 days ago, working through Curse now.
So far so good, like Pheran said, Hidden Ones is more like the main game, sort of an epilogue, content wise: enough there to justify it when on sale, but you don't really miss all that much if you don't play it. Adds nuance more than it adds substance.
Curse is great so far, I really like what they did with the Afterlife.

Getting the Season Pass will run you $19.99 right now, but just buying the two DLC packs on their own will run you $3.49 for Hidden Ones, and $6.99 for Curse, so I would def. just buy both of those.

Odyssey DLC was very tiresome for me. In fact the whole game had a weird progression system that I don't think belonged in AC games. They used some arbitrary leveling system where everyone scaled up anyway so all it did was lock you out of some areas and then constantly make your favorite equipment junk once you outleveled it.

While annoying, yes..at least you can change the scaling levels in Odyssey. Gear drops aren't quite as good with the lower ones of course. I'm hoping the leaks were correct about ditching this mechanic in Ragnarok or whatever the next one's named.

Also there should be some 1mo trial codes floating around. Otherwise 1year has been $35 through seedy keys recently.

Supposedly there is a 30 day plus trial in copies of Destiny 2. Probably cheaper than a 1 month code.
 
When’s the next big sale due? I need to get FFXIV Shadowbringers digitally ASAP and I hope it’ll be discounted soon. The Square Enix store has it for 40% off right now but only physical; I hope they’ll do another FF sale similar to what the eShop has right now.

The biggest issue is that if a team of 4 actually stays together, the Predator is no match at all. I had more fun as the fire team. The plasma shooter and net gun did jack to anyone I shot at when I was the Pred.

 
Streaming some Deep Sky Derelicts, which I believe is a sci-fi Darkest Dungeon (link).

Wasn't sure what to expect from this game, but it's a lot of fun. It's like Darkest Dungeon in terms of art style and the general concept of taking a crew into a dungeon to raid for items or take out enemies, but that's about it. The atmosphere is much less depressing, the dungeon exploration is very different, and the combat is different. It works out really well so that it's more approachable on the default difficulty, but there is a hardcore difficulty if you want to go that route. The main issue I have is they don't explain status effects and some other things that well the first time, so it can take a few times to figure out what's going on.

I'm also not a fan of the asymmetrical multiplayer craze but I gave it a try since I like Predator so somebody that does like that type of game might enjoy it. I'm a simple man. Give me plain old deathmatch or domination any day.

I play Dead by Daylight all the time and used to regularly play Friday the 13th, I didn't enjoy Predator that much

it's way too easy to kill him

 
been years since i played it ( Nier ) never finished it, so my opinion is not the best. i did enjoy Automata lot more, Nier feel sorta like darksiders combat wise, thu a little slower. the main appeal was the unknown world and the slow reveal with the story i do want play it again and focus on it lot more as it did have some good dark twist what i did play of it but when i heard the game story had more then one version even if it was just minor with how it was translated it annoyed me, so i lost interest trying follow it and played other games.

 
Is Replicant the one that was Japan only? From what I remember Japan had different versions of Nier on PS3 and 360 but we got the same on both.

 
Was Gestalt the one made for us with the old man taking care of the daughter? Will we have the option of choosing the old man plot? I hear the games are very similar otherwise.

Nemesis feels like a prop that conveniently pushes Jill towards the next area rather than an enemy you need to be constantly accounting for as you attempt to solve puzzles and explore environments. It all feels incredibly ham-fisted, ditching the nature of Mr X for the spectacle of a Tyrant that’ll occasionally chase you.

This is pretty disappointing. According to a comment on that review, what we saw in the demo is the one and only time Nemesis pursues you while exploring the area.

May or may not be legit, but I don't know why so many people (especially in games media) have been convinced these boxes will be expensive. They designed these from the start to meet a price-point and not to meet some spec or "just be awesome." This is how business works. Yes, they wanted it to be better than the other guy and as good as a gaming PC, etc., but they know they can't generate sales and maintain or build ecosystems with a $600+ box.

And, yes, designing for a price point might even mean planning to lose money in the short term.
