I don't think anyone did, but a lot of people who bought it and the season's pass, look at the exact same thing being sold with a new label for less money, and are left wondering why they aren't getting the same benefits.

I mean it makes sense to ask why one is privileged group and one isn't, especially considering the former class, (og game + seasons pass), probably spent more on the game than the latter class will.

Not to mention, they announce the AWE Expansion, then put the game + Season Pass on sale, so people bought it. Then they announce a completely different edition that is needed to be bought for the next gen upgrade. 505 knew what they were doing lol. You think all this shit was a coincidence?

I never said you did, but people were expecting that when Control was announced for the new consoles that they'd get free upgrades much like other older games have been getting and that's a reasonable expectation to have.

So you paid full price (or probably close to it) and you're ok with them excluding you from the upgrade when it would cost them nothing to provide it?

The work is already being done. It's not like this is a remaster that everyone would have to buy again. In the end, no one "deserves" the new version, but if they are going to do it for some, why not others? Is it because you don't deserve that since you were an early adopter and bought it before other people? It's just a bad look. It would be like a manufacturer not giving firmware updates to early adopters and only giving it to newer purchasers.

 
Whenever discussions like this crop up around the turn of a new console generation I'm always so glad I'm not some gullible early adopter.

Except that it specifically says on the page:

That's a cross-gen bundle like the one they're selling next month for Control instead of making the base game people own cross-gen. That's the whole point.

I dunno, it seems like it is going to make a much smoother transition to a next gen this time. Sure we don't have the stark line of "wow" that clearly differentiates generations, but it does allow people to step up as it works for them without missing out on most games. Besides the early games never really take real advantage of the hardware anyways.

Firmware updates are a lot different than a new version of a game on a future system and you know that. I bought the deluxe edition of Control at launch and the season pass. I bought it and played through it on the PS4 I don't need to be able to play it again on PS5. I don't care in the slightest about these updates and I don't care about backwards compatibility. I barely have enough time to play through all the current games I want to play so the chance that I'm going to replay through a game is very rare and usually reserved for my favorite Nintendo stuff.

You might be waiting a while for reasons I described here. But waiting long enough usually produces a price drop of some kind.

I didn't remember getting Zombie Driver either, but it was free for me. Guess I'll try it. Looks to be something that I'm not sure people would want, so I'm not sure why it was ported to PS4, but what do I know.

I haven't been able to add things to my download queue for a couple months now from my phone. I've been manually searching things up in the PS store on my ps4 to add them.

It seems like it is getting progressively worse. My phone browsers haven’t worked in months, so I have been purchasing and downloading through the app. Now I can purchase only through the app, but the download queue stopped a week or so ago. I started using my kindle or laptop and now those won’t even work. Hopefully it gets fixed eventually.

Yeah, if they can't slim it then it will be a price drop and a game, or some other gimmick like colors. In the meantime I'll be completing the classics from this gen.

But be prepared for disappointment because the game ain't all that great. Needs work. Plus it is gonna be monetized to hell on top of the price tag.

So this new game rusty gun looks pretty basic, but has a sweet little song in the video trailer. soundhound couldn't find it. Did they make it themselves?

 
Has there been any mention or rumor of a date when Rocket League is going free to play? All I have seen so far is "sometime in summer 2020."

Has anyone figured out how to actually do it? I went to the store page for a game I downloaded via PS+ (Broforce) and there is no purchase option of any sort, just "Download to PS4". Clicking it did just what it said on the tin. Going to Broforce in my PS4 library also had no way of buying it, just a "Start" button.

Yeah not sure if it's a beta thing or what, but going into the store on the PS4 the only game I've checked that gave me a buy option was on COD modern warfare from this month

I hate to say it, but I'm kinda glad I missed this. I love steelbooks and usually jump on the gold editions of Assassin's Creed, Far Cry and the other Ubisoft games that come bundled with the season passes. But I always wait to play the games until all the DLC content is available because I hate having to go back to a game months later and try to remember, "Who was this person, why is this happening, etc." So the game sits there on my shelf for over a year as I wait for the all the DLC to be released, and by the time it has, the gold steelbook edition that I spent $110 on can usually be purchased on sale for only about $35. Especially since the price of Ubisoft titles usually drop like a rock. After seeing that happen with Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, I swore I would wait from now on. ...But that still didn't stop me going to Amazon to see if this price error was still available. Thank goodness I went to bed late last night and slept through it.

I only did a casual search for corroborative sources, before heading to bed last night. Didn't think to test it myself. Will try now.

edit: FWIW, the few PS+ games that I tested in the US store via console offered me both a Download and an Add to Cart option.

Usually you really have to wait till Black Friday because Ubisoft usually has a sale and that $110 steel book is usually around 55. With all the stuff going on in the world I don’t know if they will do that but just wait till Black Friday.

I never buy Ubi games at launch or for more than $20, so yeah I understand. Nor do I plan to have a ps5 anytime soon. Just posted the price mistake to share with cag.

i can hold off for a bit. Just grabbed FC5 steelbook on eBay with the game for under $20, then bought the season pass while it was on sale. Gold edition for under $30... it’s just sitting in a backlog anyway.
I’ll do the same with FC6 unless there is some mind-blowing deal in the next year.

Modern Warfare 2? They just made a separate page for the PS+ version, which is because they don't want to give away the bonus cosmetics you're supposed to get from buying the game. It's not actually a thing and that article doesn't explain where it got this information from.

Oh that makes sense, well I didn't see the option on any other PS+ games on my PS4 so maybe it's not true
