I do. It doesn't overstay its welcome.

I really enjoyed walking around the entire difficult planet to get to the base instead of paying the money to land in the right spot in the first place.

 
I wish companies would be more accurate about the download sizes of games on PSN, or update the size listed when a new update releases. It's annoying that one game that was listed as 700MB turned out to be 2GB,and a 12GB game wound up being 20GB.

This literally makes no sense why the saves are not compatible from PS4 to PS5. Who the fuck wants to replay all that stuff over again?

There shouldn't be a problem playing PS4 games with your old saves unless they decide to enhance Ghost and release it as a different sku like Spider-Man.

I passed on the majority of filler side stuff...especially clearing out the camps. I stuck to the character story based and unique ability side missions. I also grabbed some foxes and climbed some shrines.

I have finally gotten to the point where open world games cannot sucker me into tedious collectible filler...feels good

I actually think that TLOU 1 and 2 would benefit from removing crafting materials altogether...so much wasted time and backtracking for supplies that drags down the experience imo

I would prefer if you started with whatever materials and making due...the flow of the gameplay would improve

I picked it up at launch and traded it back in within the 30 day guarantee tiv. While trading, the employee mentioned that she was still in the beginning island doing everything...

The look on her face when I mentioned that her qol experience would improve greatly had she furthered the story to the second area before getting on the hamster wheel...she looked like she died a little inside (didn’t spoil anything but gave her the nudge)

What the hell? There's no reason this can't work on PS5 if Xbox Series X can manage to do it.

Are there any games that do support cross saves for PS4/PS5 and any games that don't support cross saves for Xbox One/Xbox Series X?

 
So the Yakuza game will be a PS5 version of a PS4 game? That's why the save won't work?

Hopefully regular PS4 games that can be played on the PS5 as PS4 games will have their saves work fine.

I  know I have some PS4/Vita games with and without cross saves.

Is it laziness or programming difficulties that prevent us from getting cross save?

The only thing I can think of it might glitch some cumulative or only get in one place trophies that’s my only guess.

Hopefully it generates enough anger and buzz when Sony says your Cyberpunk save can’t be transferred that it gets them to rethink this bullshit.

The really perplexing part is that cross-play and cross-save were huge features Sony pushed for Vita, PS3, and then PS4 for a lot of indie titles and cross-generation games. Bungie figured it out for Destiny years after release, Steam has shared saves with some Nintendo Switch games of all things (Divinity II, Witcher 3), Xbox is pushing it as a standard feature moving forward. PS Plus should allow for cloud saves which the games should be able to access regardless of platform.

This won't be a deal-breaker for most people but it's very odd.

I was definitely hyped about those cross-saves.

Would frequently start the day playing Borderlands 2 on the PS3 in my exercise room, then play with the same character on my Vita on the bus, get home and finish out the day playing same character on PS4. Was so incredibly seamless.

I guess they went with that "we believe in generations" stuff too far into development before dropping it. I'm sure they'll come up with some way to do it at some point, but it sure sucks for early adopters of the ps5. I'm gonna wait a bit to buy a couple games because I'd rather play them on my ps5.

I think so. I got it at launch and though I enjoyed it, I kinda regretted not waiting for a price drop. The game itself is good if you like Fallout 3/New Vegas but it's on such a smaller scale that you can pretty much accomplish everything with one playthrough and the only replayability would come with just doing the opposite of whatever you did the first time. The new DLC helps extend it a bit and there's I think one more pack coming.

 
It’s sad that Little Big Planet is a shell of what it formerly was ... it literally became a game that could have been created with the initial platform.

I’m looking forward to playing Dreams on the PS5, but I avoid any LBP games because they feel like cash-ins without Media Molecule at the helm.
 
Disappointed that Demon’s Souls won’t have a deluxe or collectors edition ... would have definitely paid more for a steelbook/art book/soundtrack physical edition.

If I buy the PS4 version of Miles Morales, I can play it on the PS5 via backwards compatibility but without PS5 quality. If I buy the PS5 version, no way to play the PS4 version.

No, I believe you get a free upgrade to PS5 quality for Miles Morales. So you can buy a PS4 version and play on PS4/PS5, but PS5 will only play on PS5. You might be able to add on the enhanced PS5 Spider-Man base game dlc with your Miles Morales PS4 version for $20 more when you play it on PS5 (unsure).

What you won’t get is an option to upgrade the base Spider-Man game if you own it on PS4. Miles Morales PS4 should be a free upgrade to PS5 quality, at least that’s my understanding.

Things get a little strange when other versions of Miles Morales enter the equation. By purchasing Miles Morales on PlayStation 4, players will also gain access to the PlayStation 5 version free of charge, but that’s just for Miles.

The remaster of the original game has no free upgrade, and can't be bought as a standalone title.

Miles Morales PS4 will upgrade to PS5. Buying Morales on PS5, however, does not entitle buyers to the PS4 version even though they cost the same ($50) and some players might want to buy the ultimate edition to get the original game but you can't do that with the PS4 version.

Edit - the product page makes no mention of having access to the PS5 version, which makes things more confusing.

Exactly. Miles on PS4 says "One-time license fee for play on account’s designated primary PS4™ system and other PS4™ systems when signed in with that account."

Maybe Geoff Keighley will know since he explains Sony's PS5 plans better than Sony! 😄

I already beat Spider-Man 2018. The save won't carry over from PS4 to PS5, and I'm not interested in playing it again
 
If you aren’t interested in playing HD spider-man on PS5, then you’re good as far as buying the PS4 version of Miles Morales. The only question is whether PS4 Miles allows you to buy the HD base game as dlc. Otherwise it’s been confirmed as a free upgrade, similar to PS4 Ubi titles.
 
Geez - I didn't even realize until now that Miles Morales will be on PS4. I thought it was just PS5.

That's good news for me. I don't have any current plans to get a PS5.

Yep, and Horizon Zero Dawn 2 at some point ... probably wouldn’t have ordered a PS5 at launch if Demon’s Souls wasn’t a launch title.
 
From what a supposed dev posted on another forum, Sony's save game backend is a mess, with issues arising from title differences between disc and digital versions, game of the year/re-release editions, regions, etc.  Developers can make their own ways of importing save data from previous gen versions, but it looks like some (like Sega with Yakuza 7) are saying it's not worth their effort.

Your save data should go to PS5 just fine if you're playing something with BC, but nothing is guaranteed for games that are getting next gen versions.  I will be curious to see what games like Valhalla and Cyberpunk end up doing.

Microsoft is way ahead when it comes to smart delivery and cloud saves.

The price hikes aren't what bother me though; it's that the deluxe is literally garbage pay-to-win. FFS the OG deluxe came with slip-cover, art book, CD soundtrack, and a 150+ page mini-strategy guide AND was the same price as the vanilla game today. :shock:

This deluxe just gives you some of the items in advance? Awful.

Digital Deluxe editions have always been garbage. I was ok when they were $10 more. Now they bumped them to $20 more. That's why I have 0 sympathy for gaming companies no matter what they will always try to take more and more. Lucky for me I can wait till it's $30 or less. Backlog is stacked with great games.

From what a supposed dev posted on another forum, Sony's save game backend is a mess, with issues arising from title differences between disc and digital versions, game of the year/re-release editions, regions, etc. Developers can make their own ways of importing save data from previous gen versions, but it looks like some (like Sega with Yakuza 7) are saying it's not worth their effort.

Your save data should go to PS5 just fine if you're playing something with BC, but nothing is guaranteed for games that are getting next gen versions. I will be curious to see what games like Valhalla and Cyberpunk end up doing.

Microsoft is way ahead when it comes to smart delivery and cloud saves.

I was afraid of this. It's another reason I hesitate to buy any of these "also on PS5 for free!" games. I'll just get the PS5 version most of the time and save the headaches.
