I don't think they'd be able to get away with it since the PS5 upgrade is already free to owners of the PS4 version.  If they try to charge for it later the future, I can see large percentage of players being massively ticked off.

 
I am also enjoying AC: Valhalla. I'm not that far in yet, but the story is decent, the combat is fun, and the side quests/events are good.

A half-baked wishlist function, considering you can't even add dlc to it.

Really, best bet right now is just to set up a wishlist at psprices. They'll occasionally miss a discount here and there, but it's it's the best thing I can think of at the moment.

On Best Buy, it says INCLUDES NEXT GEN UPGRADE but does that mean a pure PS5 version or that the PS4 can be played on the PS5.

For comparison, No Man's Sky on PS Store has a PS4 version and a PS4 & PS5 version and it explicitly says in the fine print that PS4 purchasers get the PS5™ digital version at no extra cost and you do not need to purchase this product.

Hmmm....Square Enix store says.... Download the PS4™ version of this game at no extra cost when you buy the digital PS5™ version from PlayStation™Store.  But there's no digital PS5 version in the PS store???

I would buy the PS4 version on sale if it guaranteed a PS5 version as well.

Yes, next gen update is free but won’t be available until 2021. You can still play the PS4 version on the PS5 until that time though.

I never understand why companies don’t discount complete games but will discount the game and the content that comes with it. Prime example is Jedi Fallen Order. Makes no sense lol

The Deluxe content for Jedi Fallen Order isn’t worth paying for ... I think some of it went free anyway (preorder bonuses did) ... it’s a few skins and lightsaber colors. The base game has everything you need and there was free DLC that added post game options. So just buy whatever is cheapest, regardless of version, at least in the case of Fallen Order.
 
Is it just me or are these BF deals kind of sucky? I mean most of the titles I'm looking at are more than they were in recent sales. Was saving my credit for the BF sale, when I guess I should have used it already.

It seems to scale pretty well on older hardware is my understanding. It does dynamic resolution and such. You won't get 60 FPS, but it should be playable and pretty decent.

What I find most shocking about the Black Friday deals this year is just how few of them there are. What's there kinda sucks, but also there's very little on offer compared to the massive back catalogue they could be selling. No "spend 100 get 10." Shit year, which is surprising given that that going digital this year is obviously safer with the Pandemic and all.

EDIT: But don't worry, the physical deals suck this year too. :)

I guess the PS+ and Now deals are going on after all. $45 for a year of Now is tempting.

Depends on how you feel about classic beat 'em ups as the general design of the game is very old school. Just pick a character and play through 12 levels, lose all your lives and you have to start the stage over.

Their main focus was more just modernizing classic beat 'em up combat. The combo system is a lot more fleshed out (you can actually cancel normal combos into specials/supers) and instead of enemies being thrown off screen when knocked back they wall bounce and the game very much encourages you to use that as a way of extending combos. Lot of other minor changes as well that add to the fun and all the characters feel very different so lots of replayability in that regard. Personally it's one of my favorite games this year.

 
Borderlands 3 is a nice deal for a next gen game.  The upgrades look pretty good.  Also, $20 gets you a lot of content from just the base game.  The DLC stuff is pretty good, though.  Not sure how well/often the DLC goes on sale.

Digitally, not much but the physical game + Season Pass 1 are on sale for $30 constantly. I'm sure we'll start seeing that first pass on sale in the first half of 2021, but that edition is definitely the best consistent deal on grabbing this.

Apparently it was $20 at Walmart today, but it sold out really quickly at that price.
 
I know we're super-spoiled with prices around here, but wow - compare the PS sale vs. Xbox and there just IS no comparison. Doesn't even look like a Black Friday sale as we know them.

Lot of other minor changes as well that add to the fun and all the characters feel very different so lots of replayability in that regard. Personally it's one of my favorite games this year.

Best advice I was given by Fextralife is kick up the difficulty at least one peg or you'll be bored by the combat a bit. I wouldn't say it's groundbreaking nor trash either; pretty healthy middle-ground and apparently by the end of the game you'll feel that more badass from all the upgrades.

Ok seriously, how do I check what DLC a game has on the new PSN Website?
I went to checking Control, Outer Worlds, Kakarot, Code Vein and a few other games I got in the last year to make sure i got all the DLC and all it shows me is this

It no longer links to available DLC, is there something I'm missing?
I know if I can think of the game name, and properly spell it (Sometimes, like with the Tales games, they won't find it due to a copyright or registered system) it'll show me some of the dlc... but not all

I know I sound old, (yea I'm 40), but I really liked the ease of use from the old website more.

you don't switch per say. There's just a link to the old store front still usable so people use that to acess all the old features basically.

 
The only other issue I'm trying to figure out is how do I get my disc deluxe content for digital avengers.
I got a deluxe code, which I turned in, but the deluxe content still shows up as purchable. Hopefully it works with the digital version.

I'm downloading it to a PS5 which is causing the confusion, due to not being accustomed to the interface.

Looks like the Black Friday sale is rolling.

better prices in other places but Greedfall for 14.99 has piqued my interest.

any firsthand experience?

 
Judgment for $20 is tempting, but I have a lot of recent games recently. We probably still have a year or more before all PS4 deals disappear like they did with the PS3, you figure?

 
Okay for those of us who plan on using 2 ps5 consoles... is there game sharing functionality like before? ps4 you were allowed to use one anothers PSNs as primary and play 1 game purchased 1 time with 2 people/consoles.
