I had a game installed on my PS5 from owning the disc, but ended up buying it digital. Instead of recognizing the digital purchase, the current install expects a disc, so I have to delete and re-download the game. Is that standard? Pretty stupid if so...
Yup. I had the same problem with demon souls. Another thing that sucks about PS5.

BotW probably has more cutscenes than any other modern Zelda game, and a a larger cast of characters. How much story do you need from a Zelda game lol? It's Link, and he's come to town to save the princess Zelda. Ganon took her away, now the children don't play, but they will when Link saves the day. All I've needed or wanted from a Zelda story since the 80s.
There's a really great reference here.

Same as on PS4, I was hoping that would be fixed on the ps5. The series X works as you want it to work on the ps5.

Yeah I have no problems with my Series X. Hopefully Sony can improve this, but doesn’t seem likely if they carried it over from PS4...if it weren’t for the first party exclusives, I’m not sure PS would be nearly as popular.

Is there an easy way to check your ps wallet balance on mobile? Every method I've tried errors out or hangs indefinitely...

I bought the digital version of Borderlands 3 and was able to just remove the PS4 disc and keep playing the PS5 version from there. Very easy process.

On top of the disc/digital silliness, file management on PS4/5 is just so bad compared to Xbox.  Can't copy a game - game has to be moved from internal/external drive to the other.  Can't have more than 1 drive hooked up for direct external to external copying.  Can't manage DLC separately from games.  So much DLC is incorrectly categorized.  Moved Injustice 2 to my external SSD, which also moves all my Mortal Kombat X DLC as well.

I got a 'welcome to PS Plus' email today thanking me for joining but I've been a member for years without ever lapsing.  My current subscription wouldnt expire until 2021 and the email now says 2022.  I just checked online and my subscription is listed as auto renewal OFF so I'm not sure if this is a mistake or what.  Any one have a similar problem?

I still haven’t finished BoTW. Put probably 15-20 hours in it and was starting to get bored. I do want to get back to it.

But like others, I actually think I’m having more fun with Immortals. I may even like Genshin Impact more, lol.

Not to say BoTW isn’t a good game. Just overrated.
Why do you think it got the MOST 10's of any game ever reviewed?

Because it's Zelda. Everyone loves Zelda. I love Zelda. But let's face it, Nintendo could polish a turd and slap the name Zelda on it and people will eat it up. In fact, they did, it's called Wind Waker.

Fixed that for you

The video game critics and I disagree with both of these opinions.

Huh? Lack of story? It definitely has a story. Did you beat all 4 champions? Find all the memories? I'm not sure what you mean by lack of story.
The four champions are a prime example. Four cool looking characters that were not fleshed out at all. That can be said about all of the characters. The fact that you have to buy the encyclopedia to get any backstory on the characters & lead up to the calamity says a lot. Yeah I 100% the game and the story is lacking. A lot of people agree as is it also mentioned in quite a few reviews. You know a game doesn't flesh out the characters when the main pitch of the Champions Ballad DLC is:

"Kass the Bard is on a quest to complete the missing verses of his teacher's unfinished song. Along the way, his original compositions will shed new light on the four Champions and Princess Zelda herself"

Which it botched big time. The added story didn't flesh out the characters at all. As most reviews and players pointed out. They could have fixed this with the $60 Age of Calamity standalone game. They finally gave Link, Zelda & the Champions some engaging dialog, bad ass moments & something to make you care about, but they botched it with that ass pull, what if twist 70% into the campaign. BotW has some random conversations between shallow characters. That isn't a story. Hell Skyward Sword did story better.

Why do you think it got the MOST 10's of any game ever reviewed?
Oooooh you're one of THOSE people

I got a similar email and checked that my auto-renewal is off. Weird.

They finally game Link, Zelda & the Champions some engaging dialog, bad ass moments & something to make you care about, but they botched it with that ass pull what if twist 70% into the campaign. BotW has some random conversations between shallow characters. That isn't a story. Hell Skyward Sword did story better.

Oooooh you're one of THOSE people
I disagree and yes, I am the MAJORITY that recognizes that this game is a 10 and it's the best game I've ever played. You can disagree with the fact it has the most 10's EVER but that doesn't make it any less real. I'm also with the majority that think the Beatles are the greatest band in history but you might not think so and might even know people that hate their music. That's fine. I am merely posting about the majority here. I do agree that SS definitely challenges BOTW story wise and I really wish they would have included the motion controls from SS too. I have problems with BOTW but story is not one of them.

The original LoZ is still maybe my favorite games ever. BotW was so underwhelming. No story. The breaking weapons was so dumb. Hardly any actual voice acting was laughable, for what, 2017/2018?

Immortals plays so much like BotW in many aspects, with touches of AC and sone other games. I think the dungeons are better. The story is leagues better as it is all based on Greek mythology. The combat is really good. The world is huge with tons of stuff to do.

I think Immortals is worth every penny. I've put almost 50 hrs into it and it looks like I'm around halfway? I'm doing everything though.

I would highly recommend the Gold Edition they're selling for $65 or whatever it is. I bough the vanilla version for $50 at launch and will definitely be buying the season pass.
Ok cool. The endorsement on the story is all I needed. The lead up to this game coming out was that it was inspired by BotW. Which from a game play standard is top tier, but I was afraid that it would lack a story too. Glad it has a solid foundation. Greek mythology has always been cool in my book. The CAG in me wont allow me to pay more than $30 for a Ubisoft game though. Looks like Immortals is a gem that got lost in the shuffle. Thanks dude!

Dude. I don't care about review scores. I just don't take anyone serious that responds to any criticism with " But it has the most 10's ever". That's all I was saying by rolling my eyes at that comment.

Like I said the lack of story is my problem BotW & I explained why. Everything else was good. So agree to disagree.

The Beatles are great, but the greatest? No way. For every Back in the USSR, there's a Wild Honey Pie. For every With A Little Help From My Friends, there's a Revolution #9. They have a lot of great songs but a whole lot of duds too. Even John and Paul thought a good portions of their songs were horrible (the ones written by the other, of course.)

You couldn't keep going with that list. You gave 2 examples. A whole lot of duds? Just google it. Their influence on music was huge. Brand new artists to this day list them as an inspiration. The Beatles are recognized all over the world. Their music transcends race, culture, economic status etc etc. You don't think they are and that's fine but again, the MAJORITY of the population agrees that they are the greatest of all time.

Video game critics pretty much gush over all triple A titles. It's like their job or something. Jim Sterling gave Botw a more realistic 7 out of 10 and Nintendo fans went crazy on him going so far as to DDOS his website.

The only Video Game critic I sort of follow follow is Yahtzee since his quick video reviews are always filled with humor and insights into the games that most critics ignore.

The Beatles have 34 Top 10s so you can listen to them.

I also found out that Immortals is 39.99 physical at Best Buy and Amazon so slightly cheaper than digital and people might have store credit

I'm about 40 hours into Fenyx, and it is indeed like BoTW with a story and even better IMO it ditched BoTW's terrible broken weapons mechanic. It's the most fun I've had with a game all year. Just be aware that it's tone is comedic and irreverent, which I love, but if you are looking for a serious take on Greek Mythology, Fenyx is not that game.

Ironically, because this whole dumb conversation was kicked off by talking about critics, it's pretty much completely uncontroversial and universally recognized among music critics that The Beatles' catalog is filled with "a whole lot of duds".

It's also filled with by far the largest number of wildly popular chart toppers, and a huge number of completely overlooked gems. And they were only active for 10 years.

I can't think of a single competent music critic that believes both that The Beatles are the greatest band of all time and would not agree that their catalog includes "a lot of duds". That's just a basic part of their story.

In fact, all the other major bands that are brought up in this kind of stupid conversation (rightfully or not), Led Zeppelin, The Stones, Pink Floyd ... also have a whole lot of duds in their catalogues, as any competent music critic would universally agree.

Dissenting opinion here. Couldn't stand BotW and really don't like Immortals either.

I have yet to play a 3D Zelda game I have enjoyed and found Link Between Worlds a welcome lifeline in the series. As for Immortals, I really wanted to like it but by the time I cleared Aphrodite's zone I was so tired of rolling giant magnetic balls around and/or guiding arrows. Looked at the map and oh goody, three more gods and Ganon's Typhon's region to go. Total time was eight hours before uninstalling it.

Totally agree. The comedic tone is funny. I was high when I created my character and accidentally made a character who looks very manly but has a girl's voice. It's hilarious. I'm enjoying this game greatly.

It's become increasingly apparent to me over the past months that the software side of Sony is just broken and/or incompetent. You see it in the web store, you see it in basic operations on the console, you see it in missing features (storage expansion, etc.). I'm worried that this is going to catch up to them at some point, as it did in 2011 with the PSN breach.

Please understand that I'm not saying the PS5 is a bad system or that you shouldn't buy one. It's obviously a very capable console with some excellent exclusives. I just wish Sony would get their shit together on the software side of the house.

Criticism of BotW is fine and everything, and Immortals does look fun, and sure I can understand people liking it more. But when people say Genshin Impact -a Chinese knockoff that's essentialy just a ftp gacha slot machine with waifus- is the better game, it literally physically pains me. And that's actually such a common take these days... like, the hipster opinion is BotW is overrated and boring, while Genshin Impact is the true hidden masterpiece. Mind-blowing.

You can ENJOY a game more and not think a game is a masterpiece. I certainly don’t think Genshin Impact is a better game but am I having more fun with it than BoTW without spending a dime, absolutely. It’s got fun factor. And it’s called an opinion.

For sure, have fun with any game you want. My guilty pleasures are mindless endless runners and dumb licensed kart racers, personally. But with Genshin Impact & BotW, one game is ultimately a virtual Skinner box created by committee, and one is not.

Just the past few months?

They've been incompetent for years. Everything they touch turns to poop. The store is a train wreck. It's almost 2021 and we still don't even have gifting..

Excellent. I'm cool with the comedic take on the greek mythology. It's nice change of pace. When it hits my price point I'm 100% getting it on PS5. Thanks

Yeah anything Ubisoft I want I usually purchase when the gold editions become about $25. Fenyx looks like a must buy, but I'll wait till it's cheaper. I may even bite around $30, but I have enough things to play already.

Nintendo fans hang their hats on review scores. Don't forget they also sent death treats & demands for termination to the Gamespot editors that gave Twilight Princess an 8.8 & Skyward Sword a 7.5
