Returnal looks kind of cool. $69.99 plus tax makes me want to wait for every game on release now instead of pe-ordering haha. I'm a Ratchet and Clank fanboy though so that one is a pre-order, but everything else likely not niche game already been released will likely be a wait for review.

I got it for $3.74 in December 2019. The price is reflected in PS Prices if you click on the listing that references all platforms.

Also Resogun had/has a season pass for $7.99. Funny I can't access it through the PS Store but if I click on the link in PS Prices I can add it to my cart.

Yeah they're usually posted by now. So they're either running late or they're saving it for the state of play tomorrow. They've revealed them through the state of play a few times before so that wouldn't be new but I think all of those happened before the normal announce date so it was an early surprise situation.

 
Debating 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim for $30. Last day for it. Seems almost un-Cag-like to get digital for that much, knowing we'll hit $20 or less by the time I get a chance to play it.

I'm guessing the digital price will follow the trajectory we saw with Dragon's Crown Pro. Physical copies are more scarce, though.

So digitally, yes it will get down to $20 and below. But it's also a good game worth spending $30 on. As long as you're not one of those people who hate reading.

If you're not going to play it any time soon, just wait. It's a good game, but it got a pretty big price cut to $30 pretty fast, and has been on sale multiple times for $30.

That said, I bought the physical for full price and I didn't feel shafted, but I did sell the copy after beating it, before the first sale.

13 sentinels started off really good then fell apart completely halfway through and jumped the shark hard 75% of the way through. The combat stuff was fun but it's short compared to all the actual story stuff. Can't recommend it after finishing it despite loving it early on.

Anyone notice PS5 store has a "discount code" feature now? I googled a few discount codes but when I put them in it says they expired (stuff like 10-25% off purchase codes). Wonder where they come from.

If you sign up for Sony Rewards you can complete 'quests', occasionally, they get you discount codes. There was one around Christmas where if you do a trial of PSNow, PSPlus, and Spotify you got a 15% off code. Maybe its still active if you haven't done it already. With that said, the interface is shit and I eventually had to reach out to customer support to get the code that should have triggered automatically.

1. It would be nice to backup PS5 games to external drives so you don't have to download again. Yeah, the internal NVMe expansion doesn't work yet, but we all knew that.

2. Have never had a WiFi issue with my Linksys mesh network.

3. I have seen issues an issue with an external NVMe, connected via the USB-C, when using sleep mode. The drive will say that it needs to be repaired and always works again. Having said that, external drives connected via "standard" USB on the back of the system never have issues on my system. My solution has been to shut down the USB-C drive, and disconnect it before I put the system into sleep more or just power the system off completely. Is that ideal? No. Would it be great if they resolved it? Sure. Am I going to post a lengthy rant on the internet fishing for "hate-likes" because of it? No.

People like him are reasons that I don't watch channels like that on YouTube.

Oh, and he humble brags about having 2 PS5's.

His point is all about the storage and the wi-fi. I don't use external storage and I use wired. So no, I don't have any of his issues.

What a waste of 7 minutes (I watched on 1.5x cause he talks so damn slow).

I'm getting better at not jumping on any random game that I'm not absolutely in love with. My backlog is huge (as I'm sure everyone's is here), so I'm trying to not buy a game unless it hits <$10.
 
I would say that is pretty actuate from my experience. Say what you will about the Xbox not "feeling" as new with it having the same OS as the previous system but it just works. The PS5 OS is just plain bad and it's clearly unfinished with how buggy it is.

Well, I definitely have had storage issues. I sometimes have games on my external that say “installed” but won’t launch. Only way to get them to work again (and only found this out on Reddit by others having the same problem) is to disconnect the drive. Start downloading the same game on internal. Then reconnect the external at which point it will ask you which one you want to keep and you can play it again off external.

Also have deleted games that stay on the Home Screen. Those you have to force the PS5 to rebuild its database to get them off the screen.

I have been playing my PS5 a lot and am just happy to have a quieter system to play my PS4 exclusives on. But I have had way more issues with it overall than my Series X (have had to get a new DualSense already due to stick drift but that can happen with any controller).

I’m surprised some of these type of issues haven’t been sorted out with system updates. It does feel like it maybe wasn’t quite ready to go. Just my 2 cents.

Yes I did. He mostly discusses the storage issue. I don't think it's a big deal to most people but was just curious if anyone else here felt the same way.

I sympathize with the storage gripes, but not his click-baity title. Not having a feature they said wasn't ready doesn't make it "half-baked mess."

Forget getting to Mars, the technical achievement I'm hoping for in the next ten years is YouTube to enable greater than 2x speed on videos. I'm regularly watching a video sped up and it's so goddamn slow I go down to try to speed it up only to find I'm already maxed out at 2x.

The only issues I've had with my PS5 was some weird initial HDCP handshake issues when setting it up that haven't happened since, external HDD issues with my old PS4 drive, and the thing where it would want to install both versions of a game when I just wanted one. I just got a new external 2TB SSD that has worked perfectly since launch to be my PS4 games drive.

I had a lot more issues with my Xbox Series S due to its similarly wonky issues with my Xbox One X external drive and many OS issues that still haven't been fixed after many years. I'm planning on getting the same external 2TB SSD I have on my PS5 for the Series S so that I should have enough room for all of the games I own there.

I got a fan-request to actually respond to this ridiculous post.

Literally none of those points say anything about sharing your console with friends or family, which falls clearly under "personal and private" use. But you listed a bunch of numbers and talked about "research", and you said "please" three times so I guess that's good enough for 21 people on this forum to think you must be right, lmfao.

Regardless, my entire point was that although I don't believe there are any actual provisions in the ToS preventing people from sharing their console with close family members in a personal and private setting, that if there were such provisions and they were actually being enforced in that way, it would be a big story, considering they advertise the console extensively by portraying it being used between close friends and family members in personal and private settings.

If you think you've literally found something in the ToS that says "you can't use this console in any of the ways we advertise in our massive ad campaigns" congrats to you, I think that's a pretty big story.

I’m not saying I agree with everything he says but if you watch it, it’s not just about a feature of the new SSD drive not available yet. It’s about a bunch of issues that make HIM upset.

Like I said, I’ve had all kinds OS issues with my PS5. And nothing of note with my Series X. I still love playing games on my PS5, but sometimes it takes a bit more effort than I should have to make to get there. And I see the same issues I have had on the PS5 community on Reddit.

I just want to play games no matter the system. I just don’t want to fight the system to do that. Not saying it happens all the time but it happens more than it should.

All of these can be fixed by system updates and I hope they do soon.

I can fire up Valhalla and be playing in world in maybe less than a minute, (Haven't timed it), from power on with the Series X.
Ps5 is nowhere close on a user friendly level.

I did watch it. It's about 70% storage (NVME upgrade and external drive issues), most of the rest was wi-fi issues.

 
Do want to say that I really LOVE the DualSense controller. And it absolutely does feel like a next gen update with haptic triggers, etc. So there’s definitely good things with the PS5 too.

lmfao, "goes silent" lol. Yes, I definitely saw that ridiculous post, and it just eviscerated me so hard I was stunned and couldn't respond. I had to go hide in a cave for three months and lick my wounds. I hang on every single word that gets posted to an internet gaming deals website. My whole life revolves around giving prompt responses to every internet forum post that mentions me.

Umm so who's excited for tomorrow's State of Play? I'm not really, but I do love seeing about games. Only major issue my PS5 has was crashing a lot due to my external PS4 drive. It hasn't crashed in a while though. I'm pretty sure they fixed that in a patch. I'm using it mainly for PS4 games played from my external drive, and haven't seen any issues. Every now and then my PS5 will be a bit loud playing some of these, but that's not all the time.
