tempted to get RF:G but the file size is kinda not making me want to... how big is it? like 6 gigs?
whats RF:G ?

Are the Lost Planet 2 map packs worth buying? They're both $1.99 each this week. Haven't played my copy of LP2 yet so I don't know how often those maps are played or how active the online community is.

I'm tempted to pick up all four of the You Don't Know Jack Packs, but I don't actually own the game yet (waiting for another 19.99 sale). Does anyone think YDKJ will see a 'Complete Edition' release that includes the packs or is it such a niche title that I should just grab them now while they're half off? :whistle2:k

I don't own the game yet either, but I know I will in the future, so I grabbed them since they were half off. If they do drop a "Complete Edition" in the future, I won't feel as bad, since I got them for half off. If they don't, I'll regret not picking them up. I'd rather feel safe with purchasing them, then gamble on it dropping and picking it up later.

Have any Plus users had an issue with Stacking and the DLC? I got stacking for free through plus, but I want to make sure the DLC will work for whatever reason before I buy it.

The last you don't know jack was a million years ago and PC only but they didn't then and I don't think they will now. I see the game being marketed much the way Buzz! is. It's a quiz game, release question packs till people don't buy them anymore, then make you dont know jack 2.

That's all the convincing I needed; went ahead and picked them up :)

I'm a Plus member and have played through most of the DLC; haven't experienced any issues.

It should be said that the YDKJ packs are different than the Buzz! stuff. In Buzz, you are buying extra categories/questions to be added to the game randomly.

In YDKJ, you are buying "Episodes" (the packs contain a certain number of new ones). These episodes are scripted and unique. If you replay one, you will know all the answers. That's why the packs are necessary- to extend the life of the game after you've played the disc episodes. .

Excuse my total ignorance about this but Red Faction Guerrilla is a full (previous disc based) game for $10? Like the way Infamous was put on PSN? And its supposed to be really good?

If I like Infamous and the GTA's, I really should buy this, right?
Excuse my total ignorance about this but Red Faction Guerrilla is a full (previous disc based) game for $10?
Yes it is.

Like the way Infamous was put on PSN? And its supposed to be really good?

Yes, it's mechanically identical to how InFamous was put on PSN, as well as many other games (InFamous 2, Burnout: Paradise, etc.).

If I like Infamous and the GTA's, I really should buy this, right?

I loved inFamous. I was very tepid about the GTA games (including IV) because I often find open world games somewhat tedious. But I managed to have a hell of a lot of fun with Guerilla.

Honestly, I'm still less than a quarter of the way through the game in terms of the story. But wow, I really don't care. I picked this up for $15 about six months ago, and it was worth every penny. The destruction engine is far and away the best I've ever seen in a game. I mean that seriously - if you take this game for a spin, it will blow your damn mind in that EVERYTHING is destructable. And good lord, but destroying stuff is a lot of fun.

At $60, I couldn't possibly recommend this. At $10, it is absolutely a steal. Buy it.

if you want to be King of Mars, obliterate everything with the People's Hammer and bring anarchistic justice down into your enemies, then you should play on Normal.

Hard mode = no fun.
Seriously, i played hard mode and i stuck with the long range weapons (every single one of them and definitely used the mines a lot). I just used the hammer when i was very close to the enemies and when i was destroying buildings.

RFG was really a great game when i bought it at 60 bucks
The multi had potential but it never caught on at that time.

Gah
damn the cawodoodie players

Red Faction Guerrilla is one of the games that is the most fun on Easy, as you can just focus on destruction rather than playing it like a normal third-person shooter.

Do old saves work from the disc copy of RF:G? I played about 80% of it and sold it a while back. I might download it though if I know I can continue my old game but don't want to restart.

^It should, all other disc games that have made it to the store work that way (except Burnout- but that was before they started doing it for real).

Yes. A lot.

FYI on Smackdown vs. Raw 2011, that Fan AXXESS DLC is basically a season pass that gets you everything for the game EXCEPT for Bret Hart, and that's just $0.50 with the sale (he was the BB pre-order bonus.) So $5.50 gets you all DLC for this game.

Assassin's Creed II and Burnout Paradise don't work with disc saves.

yeah, rfg works fine with disk saves, mine worked today.
lbp goty doesnt transfer to lbp psn, that sucks. but oh well cuz i can play lbp goty dlc on lbp2, but still...
Assassin's Creed II and Burnout Paradise don't work with disc saves.
huh... you're right about AC2. I hadn't checked it even though I bought it a few weeks back.

I wonder if that's because the PSN version is a deluxe edition that I don't think was ever released on disc in the US.

Grabbed Costume Quest. Not enough points left to get the dlc for it right now, though I don't plan to play it for a while so I can probably manage to wait on that.
Everyone who got red faction bought the wrong game. They should have bought sega rally online arcade.
Everyone should buy Sega Rally Online Arcade because it is amazing. Best game i have played online in years
Sega rally online arcade doesn't have a demo on psn but i believe there is a demo on xBox. From what i have learned on the web sega rally revo's controls are absolute crap compared to the newer game. It only has 5 courses but that just means that the online races get that much more intense because everyone knows the tracks. I posted an incredible time on the desert track with my 2nd lap ever in the icelandic racer i got the 6th best lap time posted for online races. The andorra racer is a beast for drifting and is making it hard to put the game down. Seriously the most fun ive had online in a long time, drafting other cars, and drifting inside of them on corkscrew and hairpin turns.
Do you work for Sega?

p.s. Why should I buy this when I can get a copy of 'Dirt 2' (for example) for $10 at most retailers?

Please, where can i get dirt 2 at most retailers for $10.

Link me pls.

Anyone know how much Dragon Age Origins will be for download? I couldn't find a price but might be interested to grab this if it's $9.99 like RF:G and AC2.
Anyone know how much Dragon Age Origins will be for download? I couldn't find a price but might be interested to grab this if it's $9.99 like RF:G and AC2.
Highly doubt it, full retail games seem to debut at pretty high rates, I would say it will be 29.99, maybe 19.99 if youre lucky
Dragon Age: Origins' MSRP is $29.99 right now, so it will probably be at that price.
Which is the same as Ultimate Edition MSRP. :whistle2:(
Which is the same as Ultimate Edition MSRP. :whistle2:(
Yeah.

After buying three full PS3 games at $9.99 each via the PSN, I can't ever see myself not waiting for that price in the future. I'm spoiled but this is cheapassgamer, not "prove your loyalty to a company by spending the most money" aka gamefaqs.
Not available for shipping and out of stock in my entire state.
Yeah it's out of stock in almost every single state. I ended up getting a copy of DiRT 2 at a mom & pop shop used for $10. That's really the only way you're going to get it under $15 or 20, is to find it used at a non-chain. Gamestop here has a copy used, and it's $25.

Pretty fun though, online is absurd because most people are ranked in the hundreds, and the cars in DiRT 3 are better, but the tracks are in DiRT 2 are better. I bought Sega Rally for $5, and it's okay. Not worth more than $5 though. Some occasional fun.
looks like the PSN deals are getting back to normal. Had a few really good months
I made the mistake of taking my free month of Plus on the last day it was available, and unfortunately its been a ghost town of deals during the majority of my free month. I think i bough Cuboid and Stacking and one other thing, and not even sure those were Plus deals (i know stacking wasnt)
One would think they'd try and entice people into buying and/or renewing their service by making it attractive for a few months after a big spike in trial memberships... one would think.

I activated it late too, and thought it worked out for the best. Mainly because of the summer sale. Having PS+ got you an extra 20% off. That was the best PSN sale yet in my opinion.

Meh, I'll pass on this week's deals. Shame too because my PS+ runs out tomorrow. I was hoping to use it on one last thing.
