Is there a PSN store update today?

And has there EVER been a sale on PAiN? I've wanted this game foooooooor eeeeeeeeev eeeeeer
Yeah. It was $5 once along with some of the other early exclusive PSN games (Super Stardust HD, Pixel Junk Monsters) for a Spring Sale, I think.
It probably has far more to do with the fact that the PS1 versions are just ISO rips that don't need much more work done to them while porting the PS2 versions would require a lot more work that a normal PSN/XBLA release would require. It's easy to see why they'd just release the PS1 versions and call it a day without putting a ton of time and money into them. Also, Capcom's recent purge of everything Mega Man means that you probably would get nothing instead.
Exactly it takes literally nothing to port PS1 games over, so I am not surprised they wont do the anniversary collection. Plus after their recent ways of trying to get every possible dollar off consumers, I am not surprised.

You're right, it does literally take nothing. All the corporations I know refuse revenue streams that cost nothing to establish.

Wish the update would've been better. I would think that Sony would want a good update for all the people picking up a PS3 due to the price drop, so the first time they sign on, they'd see some good deals. Or at least some good PS+ deals to entice people to sign up for PlayStation Plus, although I know that PS+ isn't supposed to update til next week.

crap update. i was hoping for a joe danger sale since the new game was just announced. i'm still waiting on sales for joe danger, explodemon, outland, and echocrome 2.

Yeah, this is one of the worst weekly updates they've ever had.

Reminder : that PLAY pre-order deal expires the Thursday before release, so if you want the SF3 Online theme and DLC, you should probably pick it up today or tomorrow.

Frisky, you should edit the " Other Deals" post on page 1 of this thread. Playstation Plus 12 month deal is now dead at both Amazon and Game Stop.
so the PS+ price for Bloodrayne is exactly the same as the regular price? PS+ is really paying for itself this week. :p
No. PS+ price is $11.99, regular price is $14.99. You save 20% with PS+. Ironically, the same amount you'd save if you bought it on XBLA with a 4000 MS points card purchased at Buy.com EBay deal for $39.99 last week.
so the PS+ price for Bloodrayne is exactly the same as the regular price? PS+ is really paying for itself this week. :p
No, $11.99 for PS+ and $14.99 for everybody else.
so which of the dlc for disgaea 3 is not unlockable in game?
thanks in advance
All of it. However, the $50 pack contains some items that were never sold separately (Including what is apparently the final bonus boss), and that pack was sadly not discounted (In addition to a few single characters not in bundles, and two of the attack modes). It's an $11.50 difference between the everything bundle and all of the pieces separately, but those last few bonuses sounded pretty tasty. Hopefully they update before the week is over and drop the price on the bundle due to popular demand.
Look one post up.
Ah, my bad. Looks like I posted right after you typed all that up. Thanks!

Looks like my wallet is safe this week. Nothing interests me.

Joe Danger went on sale at one point (50% off?) and echochrome 2 had a bundle deal with the soundtrack, but I'd be down for a straight discount.
http://www.amazon.com/Auditorium-HD-Online-Game-Code/dp/B004DGJP2Q/

Auditorium HD is also on sale for $4.99 on Amazon.

i saw that it got decent reviews, but it just looks really boring. usually i like puzzle and/or music games, but this one just wasnt clicking for me. itd be nice if they had a demo of it so i could try it rather than just watch videos
The iPhone version is free right now, it's not that bad of a game. I'm tempted to get it because it works with ps move and I have some Amazon credit.
So tempted to preorder The Baconing just so I can see if the theme is worth it. :p
Just read the advance review in the new OXM. Very disappointed to see it get a 6.0. They say it's just more of the same and that none of the (many) issues that the previous games had have been fixed. Also game is still local co-op only. Having a little buyer's regret now.
:(

:(
I'm not regretting it yet. Only 12$ for the game+theme+dlc. As long as it still has the same sense of humor as the last 2 games, i expect to laugh my ass off while playing it.

If anything, im regretting Renegade Op's, which im buying solely for getting Payday free.

They claim they have taken community feedback into consideration and fixed a lot of the problems. I'll have to check OXM's website for the review since my sub recently ran out.

I can't imagine it's not at least a 7 based on the first 2 games. They were awesome and unless they fired the writing staff and started with a new team that sucks I'm sure it'll be enjoyable anyway.
So... buy à la carte and save three cents for your efforts. Gotcha.
I added everything up in my cart and it's only a total savings of less than $12 vs buying the all in one pack. I'd bite at $30, not $38+.

Whoa hold on a minute how is secret saturdays a deal on amazon?
at 22 bucks that's more than the actual UMD is might wanna change that.

I mean yeah in terms of downloading it's a deal but man it's just so wrong
Honestly now I don't even know why im complaining it's not like im gonna buy it.

Have you seen any of the Renegade Ops videos? I think it looks fantastic.

I kinda want some of those Disgaea characters, but with Disgaea 4 right around the corner, I think I'm going to hold off. Please, don't screw us over on DLC for the next one too!

^^ Agreed. I'd love to get the Disgaea dlc but I don't think it'll be worth it. Supposedly, the Vita version of D3 will include all dlc from the ps3.

I am absolutely stunned that after all the whining about DLC prices, NISA would pull a stunt like this. This better be a mistake.

And it appears to be... from the NISA boards: "I can say that right now the discount isn't working as expected and we're looking into it. Please bear with us." (written by Houk)

I think Renegade Ops may be one of the best of the 4 in the play promo. Made by the same guys that made Just Cause 2, which is one of my favortie games of all time.

What isn't working? Was the complete bundle supposed to be discounted too?

He didn't specify, but judging from the tones of absolute outrage over at the NISA forums, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the problem.

For all those not in the know, there are a couple things that come with the complete bundle that you can't get otherwise... most people wouldn't consider it a big deal, but the Disgaea hardcore are legendary completionists...

Cool, cool, depending on the price, I might buy it, but all I really care about are the characters that help with trophies and any additional story content.

http://www.giantbomb.com/quick-look-renegade-ops/17-4672/

Here's the quick look that Giant Bomb did for Renegade Ops for anybody that is second guessing the quality of the game. It looks like a mash-up of Jackal and Assault Heroes with a heaping dose of Just Cause 2's visuals and sensibilities.
I think Renegade Ops may be one of the best of the 4 in the play promo. Made by the same guys that made Just Cause 2, which is one of my favortie games of all time.
Exactly, I watched the quicklook and was so excited that I turned it off because I didn't want to spoil anything.

Street Fighter 3 is what got me interested in doing the whole, "Buy these 4 games, get free stuff" promo but Renegade Ops is what convinced me to bite the bullet and buy all of them.

Funny, because I am not a fighting game fan, so SF3 is the only reason I have yet to decide if I want to get all 4 for the free game. However, SF2 on SNES was the last fighting game I played a lot of, so maybe I should also bite the bullet.

And thanks to frisky for the GB quick look. Awesome.
Something tells me next week with the release of SFIII:3rdS, there will be even more Capcom deals in the store.
They've been having deals every week for the past several weeks.

Is there a way to notify amazon that pocket fighters online code is lower on psn? Is the tell us about a lower price option able to do that for psn?

Bumping this up as a PSA that the Street Fighter III Third Strike Online Edition pre-order for PSN Play expires tonight at 11:59 PM PST. So if you want the bonuses or want the free Payday: The Heist for pre-ordering all four games, you better get on the store ASAP before the first pre-order is over.
