Any news on pricing for the PS2 games yet? Or if there will be a PS+ discount? $5 seems reasonable, $10 tolerable but I am betting they try and charge $20 like MS has with last gen games.

$5? Why would they charge less for ps2 games than they do for ps1 games?

$10 is the price that's been mentioned, and that's a good price. I assume dual-layered disc/multi-disc games will be $15.

Oh god....PS2 Games on PSN? With God Hand in the first batch along with Odin Sphere!?

WTF? Metal Slug 2? God damn that brings back so many memories. That's just another game I'm probably getting this month off the PSN. fuck, Sony probably will get that $60 out of me.

Sony has finally suckered me in into getting PS+ w/ that $10 back w/ $60 in October deal

My plan:

$15 for PS+ 3 month
God Hand, GrimGrimoire, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, Odin Sphere wich according to N4G is $10 originally, so 20% will be 8+8+8+8=$32
Resident Evil 4 HD: $10 before Tue update

So $15+32+10 is $57 already and the discount from PS+ is $18 which offsets the $15 entry fee already, and more discounts for the rest of the 3 months....
Hope they release more great PS2 games faster than they pumped out PS1 classics.

Oh snap and Chrono Trigger is tomorrow also
Best damn PSN update ever!
The PS2 games aren't 20% off nor has the $10 price point been confirmed. Only the main games that are detailed for each week are on sale.
I believe Destructoid confirmed both earlier, didn't they?

Edit: Yes they did

"These titles will appear on the PlayStation Store throughout the Only On PlayStation Network promotion, beginning October 4. All titles will be priced at $9.99 -- not a bad deal when you consider that some of the originals can be $50 or more on eBay."

There's no price mentioned in the official announcement, so I don't know where they got their info.

I really wish trophies would be implemented into PS2 games. They should have a different bunch of ps2 trophies with maybe the blue PS2 logo at the bottom of the trophy or a trophy of an in game item once you beat the game. I'm sure they could do something simple that would give people like me a reason to play them on my PS3 instead of my PS2. I really like the blu-ray disc like ico/shadow because they not only make them hd but 3d too as well as add trophies. I'd love to see this done for the GTA games and Jak and Ratchet games because they were some of the best games every made any generation imho.

CT, Godhand and Darksouls all on the same day. wow, fall just started and the avalanche of awesomeness is upon us...
I'm a trophy whore, but to play ct and godhand/odin sphere on my ps3, it's just bliss!
(this coming from a guy who has all the ps2 games on my fat ps2 hdd anyway ;) )

Anybody have an opinion on that Burnout Crash game with the top down view? Any good? I kinda like the look of it, but then again I could always just play one of the classic GTA games on my PC after downloading em free from Rockstar's site.
so no ps plus discount on payday? that's a shame
It was a part of PSN Play, not Only on PSN, so it's not really eligible for that discount.

It's nothing like GTA 1/2. It's a new take on Burnout's crash mode.

Ahhh, free Costume Quest. Ah well, at least I bought it during a sale. I'm not gonna download Elemental Monster either, making you pay to play online and shit.

Geez, Sony is kicking ass with these sales and making my PSN+ account worth it. Microsoft and Nintendo (who never puts anything on sale) can't compete.

Pretty pumped about free Costume Quest for Plus subscribers. My patience waiting for this game finally has paid off...:D

Yeah, it's an awesome game, one of my favorite PSN ones I've played.

Yeah, and where do you see that? OK.

I only compared it to GTA due to the top down view on it. But I used to do a LOT of the crash and burn type of stuff in the original 2 GTA games on PS1. It's just that those games didn't have environments that would degrade/explode when other crap was exploding around them.;)

Well, looks like I have till tomorrow afternoon to make a decision on the REmakes since they are going off sale. Only thing holding me back is knowing the fact that I'm going to be spending so much goddamn money on games in the coming months. Trying to keep some sanity intact in terms of spending.

PS2 games ARE 20% off the first week with PS+ only if you simply did a google search. On Official PS Blog w/ many entries.

Destructoid says they are $9.99 and, obviously being a gaming site they should have some inside source by putting it in the article. Destructoid can says some pretty dumb things but there's no reason to doubt them that they would post a fake price.

Destructoid posts a ton of stupid/dumb/trolling stuff, so I don't take anything they post seriously. Sorry if that bothers you, but I usually wait for confirmation from the publisher/developer themselves than blindly believe what a secondhand article says so that you guys don't end up getting upset at false information.

Can you post a link to where it's specifically stated that the PS2 games are 20% off? I don't see a single mention about these titles being on sale and the PS+ post on the PS Blog confirms that they're not on sale. It only applies to the eight games that are the featured releases for the Only on PSN program (Rochard, Eufloria, Sideway: New York, Sodium Collection, Rocketbirds, Okabu, PixelJunk Sidescroller, and inFamous: Festival of Blood).

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011...n-for-new-exclusive-games-throughout-october/

To be more clear here are some direct quotes from the OFFICIAL Playstation Blog article linked above:

"We can’t wait for you to get your hands on the Only On PSN games yourselves, so we’re giving you a few special offers throughout the course of the program. First, to sweeten the deal, we’ll be offering Playstation Plus subscribers a 20% discount on each game during the first week of its availability."

"Also starting tomorrow as part of Only On PSN, we’ll also be offering a selection of rare classic games in the Playstation Store: God Hand, GrimGrimoire, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, Odin Sphere and Ring of Red."

I might be wrong (and I hope I am), but I really think you're reading too much into that. "On each game during the first week of its availability" really sounds like it is only referring to the non-PS2 games.

God Hand and the other games are almost thrown out there like an afterthought.

I hope I'm wrong, though.

Glad they're throwing Costume Quest up for plus, even though I bought it at launch. Awesome little game with a nice Halloween theme to it. Maybe they'll throw in the dlc this winter.

Definitely picking up God Hand, discounted or not. Awesome week for PSN :applause:

Weekly request to add free PS+ games to the deals list. PS+ subscribers shouldn't have to stumble across random post #3029 to find out that Costume Quest is free this week.

If you don't think of it as a deal on the game, then it is a deal for PS+ - i.e. "buy PS+ get Costume Quest rental free".
Odin Sphere is awesome. If you didn't get it on PS2, grab it now.
I hope they get rid of all of those slowdowns. It really made some parts more difficult to play than it should've been. Otherwise great under appreciated game.

Weekly request for all people asking about free ps+ games to goto the godamn psn thread for info on whats free or idk just log on the damn thing and find out yourself.

I don't think that means what you think it means. It's talking about the eight games listed below the first part, not the PS2 games. The PS+ post that I linked to confirms that they're not on sale.

I'd love to be wrong, but there's nothing to suggest that those games will be on sale.

Just a heads up Eufloria is on Steam and has been on sale before in one of the sales so if you can run Eufloria on your PC, I recommend waiting for it to go on sale at Steam if your interested.

I have NEVER anticipated a damn PSN update this much...............it's almost as bad as a fucking Steam sale! Must see if PS+ gets a discount on PS2 games!

FriskyTanuki also runs and updates this thread:
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=180647

If you scroll down the weekly deals, you'll see a Playstation Plus section, and it lists all the free content (or discounted) for that week, even avatars/themes. It's all in the 1st post, and 2nd post shows upcoming sales or free stuff.

If you follow the thread and just look for his posts, you'll get big update news like this, which also lists some free DLC and Minis:
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=8915050&postcount=7938

FriskyTanuki does a lot of work, and I appreciate it. I understand he has to keep them separate, because otherwise people will bitch about how they aren't really free games.
