Livelock looks good for $5. Probably grab that.

Was reading a review of Rabi-Ribi that has me interested, but is it coming out digitally on PSN in the US tomorrow? Kind of confused. Things make it sound like it’s being released in the UK and EU, but then again, maybe that’s just physical.

Bought Nex Machina.  Most Housemarque games don't seem to go on sale very often, and this one is a very recent release.  40% off is a great pricepoint.

If I had known Alienation had added 4-player local co-op, I would have bought that the ONE time it was on sale...ever...yeah, Housemarque is picky with their sales, and it's justified.

Also picked up Livelock, which I've literally never heard of, but $4.99 is an instabuy price for any 3-player local co-op game in my household. (also see: Dungeon Punks $4.49 from the Flash Sale)

EDIT: NO LOCAL CO-OP FOR LIVELOCK??? from the morons who made the game:

"Unfortunately, we are only going to have online co-op at this time. Our team is working hard to make sure that the multiplayer experience is a solid one, which means we chose to focus on online co-op."

I looked at gameplay of Livelock and it looks awesome. Been trying to get my wife into games and I think this game might be the one.

There are lots of new games added for the PAX sale.

I just finished Ys Origin (my first Ys game) and already have Memories of Celceta. Any recommendations on which to play next? I & II Chronicles is on sale for $6.

A bit sad that Trails in the Sky SC isnt included but the first is.

Woah! Looks like a sort of flash sale for PAX. Checking it out!

Edit: some decent stuff that I already have but not much else interesting :(

Sort of tempted on Valkyria Chronicles. Had it on 360 and enjoyed it (but, like many other games, didn’t finish it — damn backlog).

That said, I could see it being a PS+ title.

Oh and Lifelock is an awesome top-down shooter, even for single player, from what I played last night. Well worth $5.

Dunno if you know or not but Ys 1 and 2 are pretty different feeling games because of the combat. It's very different from other action rpgs, especially modern ones. Doesn't make them bad games or anything, but it's worth the warning since it throws a lot of people off.

As for what order to play them in it doesn't really matter imo. The stories are mostly standalone but in terms of gameplay Oath of Felghana and Ark of Napishtim are the most similar to Origin if you want to go that route. Memories of Celceta (and Ys 7) change things around a noticeable amount with a party system (plus on the fly swapping to who you control), new skill system, and the removal of jumping.

Valkyria Chronicles was PS3 exclusive last gen, came to Steam like a year before the PS4 release. Maybe you're thinking of Tales of Vesperia?

Bloodborne trades into Gamestop for $10 right now, and they have that 6 games get 60% bonus going on now if you have anything else to trade.

I played and completed Ys Origins, Oath of Felghana, and Ark of Napishtim (didn't play them in order) this past couple weeks. I really enjoy all of them so I bought Ys 1 & 2 chronicles and Seven last weekend. I just started the 1 & 2 chronciles and tbh I'm not liking the bumping combat system. Dude it's not fun at all and it caught me by surprise. I might skip it and play Seven instead.

Yeah, I like the newer games but despise the bumping system in the early ones. Honestly probably wouldn’t have bought another Ys game if I hadn’t read that the newer games ditched it.

There are those that loved it though and think it was a betrayal to get rid of it.

Appreciate the feedback. I had no idea what the "bumping" combat was but it doesn't sound all that fun. Looks like I'll wait for sales on Oath of Felghana and Ark of Napishtim before tackling Memories of Celceta.

The Bump System combat really is the main point of contention with Ys I&II.  I love it and wonder why more games never used a system like that, other people despise it and write off the whole series because of it.

And that’s a shame because I despise the bump combat but really enjoy the newer entries. Glad I didn’t completely write it off.

Yeah I don't really consider it fun to be honest, but it's tolerable. I've played games with worse combat tbh.

Lol at the shadow of mordor season pass costing more than the game of the year edition.

"Oh you want to keep your original save? Just pay two dollars more!"

Was recently hoping for a sale on FFT: War of the Lions, so this is nice.  May pick up Tactics Ogre or some Ys as well.  Would get Steins;Gate if I didn't already have it.

I was so excited for Bloodborne, but then realized it didn't include the DLC.

Still waiting for another sale on it.  Missed it by a week or so when I got my PS4... sigh.

Made a video celebrating Warhawk's 10th birthday and kicked some ass of those still playing it:

Oh man Warhawk was my jam back in the day. Can't believe there are still people playing it or that the servers are still up tbh

How is Persona 4 DAN? Thinking about purchasing it but how precise are the controls?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If you liked Persona 4 it's worth it for the story imo. It's fun. You have to like the characters though. It's essentially funny but endearing fan fiction due to how ridiculous the premise of defeating shadows by dancing is. Track list has some good some bad. If you look at game play it's fairly standard rhythm fair and I think the lower difficulty is scaled to knowing some people who play it might not normally play rhythm games. If you were talking about something else in regards to how precise the controls are I don't know what to say except felt fine to me?

The controls are great in P4D. It's easy to hit "perfect" notes assuming you've ever played a rhythm game before. The feedback on hitting them feels nice as well, there is a satisfying pop to go with each hit. There are also these rings that come on screen that require you to tap the analog stick which feels AWFUL imo but the game gives you the option to hit them with the shoulder buttons instead which feels way more natural. The rings also make a noise when you hit them and you can pick what this noise is through the options which is awesome (I totally changed it to a record scratch sound effect.) I have 0 complaints with the gameplay, when I failed I never felt like the game was cheating me, I just needed to get good.

My only real complaint with the game overall is that Laura Bailey doesn't return for the English VA of Rise. Instead they get Ashley Burch and she is downright awful as Rise imo. I bring it up because Rise is basically the main character of the game (pretty sure she has the most spoken lines of dialogue) and that bubbly, flirty, high spirit Rise is just utterly gone and replaced by someone who sounds bored all the time. The story mode is long and it's all fully voiced so it stands out when you have this character whose main trait is her high energy suddenly sounds much more restrained and laid back. It just feels like a different character frankly, and not in a good way.

Damn Livelock doesn't have couch co-op? What kind of Malarkey is that?

Sorry about that. Everything I read and watched online was showing and talking about "top-down Co-op twin-stick shooter in the style of Diablo". I should have checked Co-optimus to verify. I Certainly didn't need another single-player game to add to the backlog.

If you want a better game to start the wife on, you should get Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition (which ironically adds the most heavenly part of the game) The only downside is waiting on each person to do inventory management.

Alienation DEFINITELY added local 4-player co-op.

Lara Croft Temple of Isiris is ok, but the first one was much better (both local co-op)

Trine is good for local puzzle co-op.

Other than Borderlands 2/pre-sequel (Handsome Collection) my longest and most enjoyable LOCAL co-op has been hand down Diablo 3.

No problem. The single player turned out to be fun and I'll see if I pick up Diablo 3 in the next sale. Never tried Alienation so might give that a go as well. Thank you for the help.

The rings also make a noise when you hit them and you can pick what this noise is through the options which is awesome (I totally changed it to a record scratch sound effect.) Thank you both for the info I may just pull the trigger.

Does anyone know if Deadpool is worth it at $14.99 or should I wait for it to drop to $9.99? That's the lowest I've seen it.
-do you like Deadpool?

-do you like action games?

-will you play it anytime soon?

If yes to two of those then sure, go ahead. If yes to all three then YES but it now

Question: Is Thumper a VR only game, or can it be played on the PS4 like it does on the Switch?

Also, does it use/require Move controllers on VR?

Not sure about the second question, but it absolutely can be played on PS4 without VR. I have it (and don’t own VR) and love it.
