I got Dark Souls 3 for five bucks from Redbox the other day even though I already have it on XBone due to the Japanese version being playable in English three weeks before the U.S. release date. I did finish the game then but man, I forgot how challenging it is. I usually play a sword and board character in Souls games so I thought I'd try a magic user for a change of pace....big mistake. I'm debating over continuing with this character and trying to build the proper stats or just throwing away the almost four hours I've put into him and starting over as a knight.
You can always start as a knight and later on in the game put points into intelligence or faith. It's always the easiest way to go as you can eventually become a jack of all trades but master of none. The classes doesn't really matter as its just what you put points into in the end. The only thing that separates the classes is what their base stats are and what armor they start with. Every class can use all weapons and spells.

I as well played it through on Xbox and bought it again on PS4 lol. I'm on a mission to start now as a deprived which is pretty much the naked level 1 character but god the first boss is wiping the floor with me. (Also been a long time since I've played)

Please excuse the dumb question, but I don't have much experience with the PS store.

I know the PS+ games go away if I let my membership expire, but what about games I purchase with the PS+ discount? I have a year that expires soon, and won't be renewing as I haven't really played much.

Games that you actually purchase with the PS+ discount will remain attached to your account even after your PS+ subscription expires.

afaik the games you purchased with the discount you keep

Hm.  I bought Edith Finch and Sexy Brutale last week, have them downloaded... but it still has the button for me to "add to cart."  If I try to add it, it says I'm ineligible.  What's the deal?  Why doesn't it say I own them?

I had a similar problem (or the same? not sure) but a while back I bought some stuff and it acted like I had not purchased them and would not let me download them unless I did it from the actual web store (on the PS4 it only gave me the option to buy them again but then it told me I was ineligible.)

Seemed to be some cart error cause when I went to the web store those games were still in my cart for some reason. What fixed it for me was just emptying the cart and buying something else (in my case it was just getting the free PS+ stuff for that month), after my next purchase the games I was having trouble with showed up in my library normally and say purchased whenever I see them in the PS4 store now.

Ah ha! Thanks! I hope that fixes it. Although I don't think I can afford any of it this week. :( I already bought Mario Odyssey woooops.

There are plenty of free things you can "purchase" to try (since in my case I was just "purchasing" the free PS+ games of the month). Not a guarantee it will work or anything, but just saying what happened in my situation.

Anyone play Witch and the Hundred Knights?
It's been a few years, but I got the ps3 version for $20 or something at release because of a price glitch and holy moly it's an unpleasant game from what i remember

Kind of unengaging gameplay, long unskippable tutorial, annoying systems, switch puzzles where if you messed it up mid-level you had to go back to the hub, restart the area, and retrace your steps (idk if they fixed that in the ps4 version), super unpleasant characters with the exception of like, the doggirl knight

it doesn't help that it plays implied gang rape for kooky laughs

Anyone play Witch and the Hundred Knights?
I played the demo for a while and hated it. The main character (the Witch) sounds like a foul-mouthed, nasty teenage girl. I actually kind of liked the overall action/rpg gameplay, but the writing and voice acting were so bad, I just deleted the demo and gave up on it. A lot of terrible jokes in the writing/voice acting as well. Shame that the game was ruined by these issues.

Edit: Also had a very annoying inventory system, not pleasant at all.

I enjoyed the game but it has some major bugs that NISA refuses to acknowledge let alone fix. I'd pass on it for that alone.

Console version is great! Dodge mechanic is actually worthwhile and they have Seasons on there now.
Decided to bite the bullet and buy it. Been killing me that I haven't been able to get in and try out new builds over the last few months, especially with the necro out. Tried to go back to the PC version when necro was first released but just got annoyed with the game crashing constantly (something in D3 does not like my video card.) I have a few issues with the console version (have played a bunch of the vanilla PS3 version for really specific reasons) but I can live with it, I need my D3 fix. Probably has my favorite combat in any action RPG simply due to the insane variety of playstyles you get from the various builds, especially when you get into high level group play.

There's a couple that have shown like that for years to me, always panic when I come across them after having forgotten about it and then figure out that nothing has changed.

Forgive me if this has already been answered:

Is there any benefit to purchasing the Dead Island Definitive Collection over just getting the 2 games individually?  Buying the games separately appears to be the cheaper route.  Am I missing something here?

You get that free garbage retro game with the collection. It’s not worth it though lol

Dang, I hope it doesn't do that for me. That would be really irritating! I'm amazed it's never happened to me before. It already irritates me that Witcher 3: GotY shows unpurchased for me, which is true, I never bought it, but I have all the expansions and stuff.

probably just weird pricing

on xbox I bought dr4 and the season pass for 4 bucks less than the deluxe which is the game and the season pass lol

Note 2 games, 3 games. The definitive collection comes with Retro Revenge, so you'd save 2 cents buying them separately.

The thing that I don't like about magic (at least Soul Arrow) is that you still have to get fairly close to enemies to be able to lock on since you can't aim it like a bow. It does good damage but if I do take a hit in the paper armor a sorcerer starts with, I'm in trouble.
You can aim it somewhat like a bow if you found the binoculars at the high wall of Lothric. Line up your target in the center of the screen with the binocs and then fire.

https://www.ioi.dk/hitman-goty-edition-announcement/

IO announced the $60 GOTY edition of Hitman that has everything in the first season along with a new Patient Zero campaign consisting of four new missions in four of the existing maps along with a bunch more stuff, which is also available as an upgrade for those that already own the complete first season for $20. The Elusive targets are also returning to give you a second chance to take them out if you missed them the first time.

We are super excited to announce HITMAN – Game of the Year Edition!

This awesome package includes The Complete First Season, the brand new ‘Patient Zero’ campaign, new Escalation Contracts, new weapons, new suits, new challenges, improvements to existing features and new lighting enhancements to all locations that make the game look better than ever – plus we have a few more surprises!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODUIa831DXk
This is our first new content release since becoming an independent studio and we had an absolute blast putting it together for you. We hope you enjoy playing it as much as we did making it – get ready to have your multi-coloured socks blown right off!

HITMAN – Game of the Year Edition will be released digitally on November 7th 2017 for PS4, Xbox One and PC!

Here’s a full rundown of what’s included:

  • HITMAN The Complete First Season
  • New: ‘Patient Zero’ Campaign
  • New: Clown Suit and themed weapon
  • New: Raven Suit and themed weapon
  • New: Cowboy Suit and themed weapon
  • New: 3 themed Escalation Contracts

The Complete First Season

This is everything that we created for HITMAN Season One. All seven locations, all bonus missions, all of the Challenge Packs, Escalation Contracts, Featured Contracts and more than 700 challenges! We’re talking more than 100 hours of gameplay and a game that we’re continuing to improve. See below for more of that.

New: Patient Zero Campaign

After the routine elimination of a target, a contingency plan to unleash a global pandemic is triggered and Agent 47 must race against the clock to prevent a virus from spreading. This four-mission campaign spans different locations in the game, each one re-worked from the original settings with new gameplay opportunities, disguises, characters, challenges, gameplay mechanics, AI behaviour and HUD elements. Bangkok, Sapienza, Colorado and Hokkaido look and feel completely different with a new time of day and new custom music created by the composer for Season One, Niels Bye Nielsen.

New: Clown Suit and ‘A New Bat’
Corky the Clown is back! This fan-favourite from Blood Money returns in HITMAN and his red wig, colourful socks and giant shoes look better than ever! Not only does the clown suit look great, but it’s the only way to carry his signature weapon without attracting attention. ‘A New Bat’ will trigger custom sound and visual effects every time it is used.

New: Raven Suit and ‘Sieger 300 Ghost’
Where tactical meets practical and stylish, you’ll find the Raven Suit. This is the perfect choice for Agent 47’s sniper operations. The Raven Suit is black and charcoal with the finest gloves and pockets for every tool. The Sieger 300 Ghost is a unique ICA variant of the Sieger 300 and the all-black rifle perfectly matches the Raven Suit for high-precision, high-damage long-range engagements. It’s got a supressor, an extended scope with four levels of zoom and the Marksman perk, which allows you to improve your aim and slow time.

New: Cowboy Suit and ‘The Striker’
The Cowboy suit is steel blue on patriotic white and comes complete with a beautiful set of albino alligator boots, sunglasses and a cowboy hat as pure as Colorado snow. Naturally, the belt buckle is the size of your fist. Accompanying this suit is The Striker; a magnum pistol that packs one hell of a punch. Not only does it have increased damage at all ranges, it also knocks back targets and has piercing rounds.

New: Themed Escalation Contracts
There’s more! We’ve created a new Escalation Contract for each new weapon/suit combination. You’ll be dressing in each new suit and using each new weapon as you complete Escalation Contracts with some brand new complications based on some new gameplay mechanics. We’ve themed these new features with each suit to make for some unique experiences.

Each Escalation comes with a new starting location unique to that Contract and all of the Escalations are made up of 3-stages, so expect the challenge to ramp up quickly- one of the Escalations reaches 7 targets, something we’ve never done before in this game. Completing each Escalation Contract will unlock the corresponding weapon to be used in all locations across the entire game, which means that Clown Only, Striker Only runs are now possible and we can’t wait to see them!

Here’s how to get your hands on the GOTY Edition

HITMAN – Game of the Year Edition will be available digitally on November 7th 2017 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

New Players: HITMAN – GOTY Edition will be available digitally for $60. That includes The Complete First Season plus all of our new GOTY content.

Existing Players: If you already own The Complete First Season, either digitally or on disc, the ‘GOTY Upgrade’ includes all of the new GOTY content and will be available digitally for $20.

(The $20 GOTY Upgrade is also available to anyone who purchased all episodes individually or previously purchased the Intro Pack/Upgrade Pack combination.)

We’ll let you know when the GOTY Edition and GOTY Upgrade are available on PSN, Xbox Live and Steam so that you can get the exact pricing for your region.

Free Game Update/Patch for all players

So, on November 7th we will release the GOTY Edition, which we’ve outlined above – but there’s a whole lot more coming!

Anyone who owns HITMAN will also get a game update on November 7th. We will share the full details of the game update soon, but here’s some of the highlights ahead of time:

A redesigned UI with a new colour scheme and visual style
A fresh new look across the board and re-organised menus to make it easier to find what you’re looking for.

New Contracts Mode features
‘Trending’ helps you find the most popular contracts, making sure you can easily find a new challenge. We’re also adding 10 ‘Conditions’ that will add huge depth to Contracts Mode, such as restricting disguise changes or requiring players to use a specific exit. Anyone who creates a contract will be able to toggle these conditions to set a more defined challenge for their contract.

Major lighting improvements to all missions
New colour grading, readjusted HDR adaptation rules and re-designed skyboxes mean that our locations look more vivid, vibrant and lifelike.

Commemorative Elusive Target Unlock
If you played any of the Elusive Targets we released during Season One, we’re giving you an in-game coin to commemorate your progress and thank you for your support.

Various fixes and improvements

Full release notes will be published closer to 7 November. That should be enough time to start thinking about your default loadout for each location…

Oh, and one more thing…

Elusive Target Re-activation

Starting in November, we will re-activate Elusive Targets. If you missed any Elusive Targets the first time around, or if you are new to HITMAN, this is your chance to experience these intense time-limited targets. All of the suit unlocks are back in play for both new and existing players to complete their collection. If you’ve already completed or failed an Elusive Target, you won’t be able to play that specific contract again; your record for that contract will stand and cannot be altered. Re-activated ET’s will still be time-limited and the first one will be re-activated shortly after the release of our Game of the Year Edition on November 7th.
The Elusive Target stuff is something you latecomers should definitely check out since it's some of the coolest stuff in the game.

Yeah it's weird we haven't seen anything yet, excited to see what is in store for us since this month didn't do much for me for various reasons.

Anyone play Witch and the Hundred Knights?
I have not played it as I heard it has a major crashing issue and wasn't fixed in the plus version type port either.

I enjoyed the game but it has some major bugs that NISA refuses to acknowledge let alone fix. I'd pass on it for that alone.
this^ Didn't know about the other issues from the 2 other posters though.

Thanks bought these.

Anybody have an opinion on whether the Alien Isolation collection is worth the $12 compared to the base game for $6?
One of the DLC has Ripley and Sigourney Weaver does the VO for it I believe. I've thought about buying it even though I have it on disc but honestly after playing an hour or two it felt like it was going to be slow and stressful. Shame though as the actual world in the game might be the most movie authentic experience I've seen short of SW Battlefront.

Dang good price for DD. Game is so good I ain't even mad I paid full price though, already put 100 hours into it lol.

I can't decide whether to get Castlevania: Lament of Innocence or not. The graphics would be incredibly dated by now, but I always loved the series' setting and atmosphere. Is the story worth experiencing? The gameplay seems just solid enough and par for the course. I feel like PS2-era games are harder to get into compared to 16-bit or even 8-bit games since those were early 3D games while 16-bit is already pretty mature for a 2D game.

It's no lords of shadow but I did play this game back on ps2 and I enjoyed .I believe it was my first castlevania 3d experience and the boss battles were neat and I do not remember the story but I'd say try it if you are a fan of castlevania.Just stay away from curse of darkness as that game was trash imo.
