I don't know if they (GoW Vita/PS3) share trophies and I don't really care. The PS Vita version is good. I didn't side-by-side compare to the PS3 version, but it looked good to me. The only slight knock is that it uses the back touch panel for things like opening chests and pushing crates. It works fine, though, as they aren't things that require lighting reflexes.

I'm in the minority, but I find Borderlands 2 to be much more fun solo than coop. It would be good to play coop on a 2nd play, but for a first play through it sucks unless you are the uber gamer that is always in the lead. As such I'm interested in the Vita version. But no funds, so I wait for the glitch!
I have only played BL1 and BL2 solo and I enjoyed them that way. I have heard that co-op is a blast though.

I looked at that site and my eyes nearly exploded. And I couldn't figure out how to tell if the trophies were separate or not for God of War. I suck at the internet. Fortunately I care a lot more about whether or not a game has cross-save.

The forums are better. I always start at "http://www.playstationtrophies.org/forum/" and depending on what game I want to look up, I add to the URL:

1. PS3 game that starts with the letter H: ".../forum/h-ps3" (unless you're looking up one that starts with A, in which case it's just ".../forum/ps3")

2. PSN game that starts with the letter T: ".../forum/t-psn"
3. Vita game that starts with the letter D: ".../forum/d-vita"

Anyway, someone made a thread that answered the shared list question: http://www.playstationtrophies.org/forum/god-war/233637-ps3-vita-shared-trophy-lists.html

It's best played with real friends who stick together and don't run ahead and complete missions etc. It can suck with randoms for sure.

Another thing I hate in GoW are the stupid walk across beams bits. Why do they put totally unfun stuff like this in games? Plus our hero seems like such a wimp. Falls in water. Dies. WTF?

I was playing with friends. It happened anyway. In some cases it was accidental, in other cases I think in the excitement they just forgot that I hadn't played it yet. It sucked. Playing solo the first time I can enjoy the game at my own pace and not miss anything. Second play through, yes I can imagine playing coop would be a hoot.

There were a few platforming bits in the first game that killed me so many times, so yeah. Hoping if I go back and play them on PS3 that that's better, but I doubt it.

At this point I've only played 1. I have 1+2, but none of the others. I know Ascension is supposed to suck, but how are 3 and the 2 prologues?

But hey, I died enough times on those stupid beams to unlock a trophy which I'm sure I unlocked on the PS3 version too. I guess that means that shitty game bit was good, right? Trophies forever, y'all!

There should have been a trophy for getting that stupid push crate blown apart by arrows for the thousandth time.

Haven't played 3 yet, but I've plat'd both prologues and they're pretty fun. Some tough bits in them, but once you learn the proper techniques, you're golden. I couldn't tell you what actually happened story-wise in either, as that shit is mostly gone from my brain immediately after finishing the game, but the killing all the shit is as fun always.

I thought 3 was great. Chains of Olympus was OK and Ghost of Sparta was very good.

Has anyone received their vita slim yet? I am curious about opinions on screen quality and battery life.

Just search the name of the game:

You can see the Vita versions have separate entries and trophy lists.

Shared trophy lists will look like this, only one entry.

3 is super fuck ing awesome. I played it fairly recently and I was shocked at how great it looked. 2 might be the best. Ghost of Sparta was pretty stellar being a PSP title as well. Ascension is the only one I haven't played yet. I should finish it so I could actually say I'm up to date on a series.

Agreed so much, it seems kind of bland single player though you get the full story (story is weak but silly and fun). I like the challenge with more players, and it's always fun taking out bosses with others. Good game, though I think most of the DLC is weak (haven't played the last 2 yet though I hear the last DLC is very fun and will play it with friends someday).

Yeah, I got the same trophy for dying a bunch on vita. Kept attempting to reach a chest but fell to my death every goddamn time. Why that's "trophy worthy", I have no idea, but not going down that road again. I also nearly threw my vita in a fit of rage during the container segment. Neither were a problem on PS3 so I decided to just stick with that version. Framerate and visuals don't hurt either.

My name is jkam and I have a problem. I'm addicted to Spelunky. I may need to go cold turkey as I need to play some other games. I just want to beat the Temple. One more time, ok one more time, maybe just one more time. CRACK.

I love God of War.  I haven't played Ghosts of Sparta yet, that's the only one I haven't played.  Ascension is the worst by far.  I actually think I'll play through all of them (besides) Ascension again eventually.  I've only platinumed God of War II, the Vita port gives me another excuse to play that one.

Oh I platinumed Ascension as well thanks to handsomepete.

Really appreciate that Sony doesn't try to charge twice for the same games even across multiple platforms for digital distribution. Glitches aside, this GoW thing is pretty rad that it's cross buy even when released 2 years later. Nintendo should be taking notes.

I had the same problem with the crate bit and the beams on the PS3 version. I think you're luck with them there was just a fluke! And yes, that's what killed me on the beams over and over - trying to get to that chest. I finally just gave up and moved on.

Well, not all games are cross-buy, but yeah, the fact that any games are cross-buy at all is awesome, and there are many such games.

Well that's how action RPGs generally work and that's what it is even though you play it from an FPS perspective with guns. If you didn't play with four people that also doesn't help since the game is at it's best with a full group.
Hm maybe I'll try it again coop and see if I like it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Mine comes in tomorrow.
Also I really would like to know if you can use 3rd party chargers with it. That's what might push me over the edge (some day - no funds right now). Here I'm wanting to use my Anker portable battery thingamabob with it.

It'd be nice to see the PSP games get a good sale. I would have picked up the God of War Saga around xmas for $10 or $15, but gave it to somebody as a Christmas list item to buy me. They didn't grab it, then it wasn't on a decent sale again before the Origins game voucher expired. :(

I still don't get 3 not being on PSN. That's so weird.

You're not in the minority here, Crunch. Many, me included, like playing solo the first time through Borderlands 2.

It's a microUSB port. I can't see how they would lock that down at all. I'll confirm, though, if somebody else hasn't already.

And I like that BL2 has cross-save. I could switch to the Vita version and pick up where I left off. Come on glitch!
The shared trophy list has really put a damper on my enthusiasm for the game. I was going to buy it on release, but I may wait for a significant price drop now. I'm hoping they'll patch something into the game for it. I can't believe they would be so short-sighted on the issue considering this is the Vita's premiere game right now and is trying to be a system seller.

Some people really like shared trophy lists. So that if they're going back and forth between the PS3 and the Vita using cross-save, they don't have two patchy looking trophy profiles for one game.

So I don't think it was short-sighted of them, my guess is that it was a conscious decision.

It really sucks though that IGN reported that they were separate with auto-pop because it was super disappointing to find out they were wrong.

It doesn't?? Damn internet has failed me again! Also that sucks, but I'm hopeful when I see the word "yet".

I hope they allow us to download our psn purchases to PS4 when it's finally coverted over. Otherwise Nintendo's transfer process from Wii to Wii U is still better than having to rebuy your entire digital library on another home console. Sony has been doing is right these last few generations, I hope they don't turn the page this new generation.

After Colonial Marines, is anyone really surprised that that turned out to be a lie? (And yes, I know Iron Galaxy handled this port. BL2 is still a Gearbox property.)

The issue is that it can be read two ways depending on how you break down the phrase - basically, whether 'power save mode' refers is a vita state or a wifi state:

1) Keep Wi-fi On WHILE in power save mode -- aka, use wifi while vita is in power save modes like suspend, etc. basically, use wifi while vita is in power save mode.

OR

2) Put Wi-Fi functionality INTO power save mode -- aka, turn off wifi automatically whenever it can to save power. basically, put wifi into a power save mode.

So, completely ambiguous because it can be easily read both ways. Terribly written, overall.

I have mine CHECKED and it always downloads in suspend mode just fine.
They've clarified the support page language for this one. It's still obtuse but it at least has a decipherable meaning: "Your system uses a power save mode to reduce battery consumption when connecting using Wi-Fi. To connect using Wi-Fi with the power save mode disabled, select the checkbox to remove the checkmark."

So, box checked = system software reduces the power draw from wifi, probably by giving less current to the radio or toggling it on and off.

Box unchecked = system power management is less aggressive.

I unchecked Power Save and my Remote Play experience improved dramatically.

Would be cool but I'd bet against it. I'm guessing if you want to rent/buy something from PS Now you're gonna have to pay regardless if you owned it before on PS3.

I had a really tough time getting into BL2 as well but God forbid you express that around here. Said that in the XBL thread once and practically had my head torn off over there.
Meh. I really enjoyed the game, but I probably only have like 3 hours in it total since I bought it. I played the first one mostly solo, and it got pretty tedious. I haven't played the 2nd much because I want to play with the same co-op partner so neither of us have to do the same missions over again and it's pretty hard to find a consistent partner.
