It's a decent game but TBH I'd say it's worth $2.50, not $5. It's very dated and clunky.

 
Uh... am I missing something?  Star Wars doesn't "seem" to be on "sale".  Course.. that could be normal Tuesday shennanigans.. is $5 for Balance of the Force the SALE price?  I think I picked up the first tables for PS+ or something.  Can all of them be unlocked under ZP2 or does it have to be a separate app?  ( I like to TRY to keep them under one app if possible)

If you buy the Star Wars Pinball pack for Zen Pinball 2, you also get the standalone game with it. The unlock key for the Star Wars Pinball game itself is also on sale for the same price, which gets you the tables within Zen Pinball 2.

$5 is 50% off the normal price. Star Wars Pinball was free for PS+ on 8/20/13, so you don't need to bother with the game packs. You get the tables for both the standalone game and Zen Pinball 2, which gives you two separate sets of trophies to unlock for each of the two platforms that it's on. I believe it also unlocks them on the PS4 if they're on there.

That is exactly right. I don't know who "decided" that the PS1 version is better than the DS version. I have both, and the user experience on the DS version is so much better than the PS1 version. The DS version also loads much faster. Loading on the PS1 version is frustrating. If you try playing on the PS1 version for an hour or so, and then switch over to the DS version, you will never be able to switch back to the PS1 again. The difference is like night and day, iPad mini and iPad mini Retina. And most importantly, the DS version has an additional dungeon. I think you're being trolled.

Does anyone recommend Time and Eternity?

As someone who is late to the Metal Gear series, do you recommend picking up these digital versions for ps3 and/ or vita or just splurging on the disc complete collection for ps3?

Why would you want to pay 4 times as much? Buy digital. Don't look back.

If it's 15 years in the future and the PSN store is gone and for some reason you want to play these games again then you can worry about buying a physical copy.

yeah, so do i. i could have just been playing like a td noob at the time though. i forget what game got me hooked on them, but i started grabbing everything that was td. a final fantasy themed tower defense was a no brainer, until i started playing it.

Help.

Do I want MGS HD on vita or ps3? I'm completely torn because I love my vita but I feel like with these games I am going to want to play them with the dualshock. But I also want the portability of my vita.

And peacewalker not being in the vita collection has no impact on me. I'm only interested in replaying mgs2 and mgs3.

Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God----- awful boring game i could never get into. I got it dirt cheap somewhere as soon as it came out. maybe played it around 2 hours and never went back

Army Corps of Hell - Vita again another boring game its just the same thing over and over and over and the later stages cheat and can kill you in a second


Lord of Arcana - Vita found the game okay

Muramasa Rebirth - Vita Wanting for peoples thoughts as well. i know i played and beat it but cant remember it

 
I must be losing it. I thought Tactics Ogre was normally $10. 

But I guess it's time to give Vagrant Story a try.

Thanks Frisky. I'm used to using the iPad version and hate doubledipping (if possible). 2 follow-ups for you or the group.

1) Any way to turn off tables I don't "own" from this screen? It's showing me some of the Avengers ones.. but I tried Gauntlet, played one game, and it effectively told me to buy'm. I don't like'm showing up on my screen like I own them already.

2) I read somewhere (here maybe?) that you have to buy them in a certain order to import them. I would ASSUME that as long as it's the Vita or PS3 it should import into PS4.. but that's an assumption. Is that right?

lords of arcana is pretty similar to ragnarok odyssey, except a little more on the grim/horror side. i didn't play too far into that one though, cause i bought it the week before i got tactics ogre which took over my psp for about 4 months.(ignoring the 12 hour break for 3rd birthday, lol)

it's hard for me to recommend army corps even at that large of a discount. i'd watch some gameplay, cause that's basically all you're going to do for the entire game. very grindy for gear to raise the minions. there's a sort of rock, paper, scissors thing going on, but i really only found the mage minions to be really useful. i think i wrote out more stuff about this game the last time it was on sale, also for you, lol. i'll have to scour my posts.

muramasa is gorgeous on the vita screen. only bad thing i'd say about it is, backtracking. holy backtracking, batman! the sword mechanic is really neat, with every sword i had found so far having a different power. boss battles were also a lot of fun.

The main screen? You can't remove titles from it since they're means for letting you, or whoever grabs the platform, to easily get demos of the tables to try them out.

Just don't buy them on PS4 first and you'll be fine. I'm going to include a warning about that in the OP.

There are some reports that setting the disc read speed to fast through the settings helps with Chrono Trigger load times. There are other reports that it doesn't help all that much because some ps1 games (CT included) had hard coded load delays. Some people claim it's completely playable either way. Others believe it signals Armageddon.

For what it's worth, I bought it during this sale and I already own it on a non-vita account. (Same with Tactics Ogre). I want it on my vita, and wouldn't even notice the slowdown all that much if people didn't always talk about it. I'd prefer a native vita version someday, obviously.

I love tower defense games, but really disliked Crystal Defense at first. I gave it another chance a long time later and liked it more... but it's still a fairly boring TD game overall. Definitely unforgiving, as already mentioned.

muramasa is gorgeous on the vita screen. only bad thing i'd say about it is, backtracking. holy backtracking, batman! the sword mechanic is really neat, with every sword i had found so far having a different power. boss battles were also a lot of fun.

Personally I think the games are more enjoyable at home.

They were made to play on the big screen in the comfort of your couch with a controller. At first I was open to the games on the go since MGS3 is one of my all time favorites, but after playing a few dozen minutes on the Vita I realized that the game controls much better on console. Especially given that some of the cutscenes can hover around the hour mark, not something I'd particularly want to bind myself to out in public unless I was on a long roadtrip/flight. These are games meant to be played without distraction to fully enjoy/comprehend what is going on in the story.

ro is considered to be like monster hunter, lol. i just hate comparing to monster hunter cause it's ridiculously grindy, whereas most of these clones are not. the clones combat systems are built more hack and slashy than monster hunter's. it has been a really long time since i've played some monster hunter, so i could be off in what i'm saying.

What Not Eric said, just go with the PS3 digital collection on sale now. The complete costs another $32 and only adds MGS1 and MGS4 and some VR missions to the mix.

I never know how to take the 'boring' comments, because I like dungeon crawling roguelikes and never know if the reviewer does. I can see people thinking something like that is boring even if i'd like it. But on the other hand, i haven't heard much good about the game either. Wait for a deeper discount, I guess.

Some games benefit greatly from setting the faster load setting on. PSP games also generally load faster.

You probably did, my memory isn't that great. Especially for games not really on my radar. I'll keep these comments in mind and look at some gameplay.

Hmm. Ok. I'm always hesitant about it because I was all hyped for odin sphere and then didn't like it. but perhaps i'd like it more on a vita.

hmm. just watched army corps of hell gameplay... looks kind of like... Overlord meets New Little Kings Story?  Is that fair?  If so, I think I might give it a whirl.

I'm skipping Lord of Arcana i think -- I already have enough hunting games in my backlog.

I appreciate the response. I guess I should have been clear... I play my vita at home. I don't use public transit. MAYBE I would bring it to the dog park. But you may have a point. These games are intended for longer sittings. Ugh fuck. I have a ps4 and I'm trying to not use my ps3 anymore. What a dilemma.

I'm not seeing Balance of the Force PS4 version on my download list, and the page for it is asking for another $4.99. How exactly do you 'import' it to PS4 then?

 
Are the original DMC games super fucking awesome or just regular awesome?  I think I might trade in my disc and just get the digital version.  Same with the Zone of the Enders collection.  I will end up losing about $3 in the process, not too shabby.

Also, I'm pretty sure Tactics Ogre is super fucking awesome too, right?  Looks like I'll be getting that with Chrono Cross and Vagrant Story because I have no willpower when it comes to PS1 Classics.
