It's glitchy as you know. Might take 101 or 102 days?

But why are you doing the daily training? All you have to do is play one minigame, so much quicker.
I am at 79 days. I didn't know that all you need to play is one mini game. 50 days didn't pop for me till day 52.

After my 9 stars post in weekly challenge post tomorrow night I will need only 11 more stars to get 100 stars.

It seems like a weird transition to me. I wonder if they had some issues with Sony or just wanted to branch out on a new path. Or MS just woo'd them with a real nice offer for an exclusive game. Like I said, I despise exclusives but unfortunately as both consoles struggle to get traction there are probably going to be more and more of them. Microsoft all but gave up on exclusives last gen but looks like they're getting back into them.
I'm betting Insomniac felt like Playstation was a poor platform to be aligned with in comparison to Xbox after seeing what was likely disappointing numbers in Resistance 3 and a couple of Ratchet games. They probably also figured Xbox would dominate the new console market when this project started. I'm sure Microsoft paid them a decent amount for the exclusive, too. Fuse probably showed Insomniac that Playstation was not their only problem (if a problem at all), but i'm sure the contract with Microsoft had been signed at that point. Also, i'll bet they wish they had not taken the Xbox money and gone multi-platform or PS4 exclusive after seeing the new consoles sales numbers.

Overall, I hope it does well and am looking forward to it. I'd hate to see this be another flop or disappointment for them.

The game does look quite campy but I like campy. It won't be a console seller, but it looks like a fun game to add to a collection. A lot like inFamous.
The "timed" exclusives are stupid, but I don't get why one would "despise" exclusives that Sony/Microsoft develop internally, or that they fully finance an outside studio to make for them. If anything, we need MORE of those - to at least justify a reason to buy both consoles. Both MS and Sony need to create new IP, Sony has been good at this... and MS is finally at least testing the waters again with games like Sunset Overdrive. That being said, it is expensive and risky to do. So I doubt there will actually be "more" over the long term, but I think as the systems launch it will make sense for them to throw a little more money around and make sure there is maximum appeal. (i.e. would not surprise me to see some massive moves made at E3).

Alright, I've been cussing out my TV for the last couple of hours over the Starfighter Assault table in ZP and I need the CAG mojo to work its magic so I can put it behind me.

Who the hell wants to buy both consoles? Even if my MS account wasn't banned, I still would have wanted to be a one console guy this generation.

I'm with you...1 console and 1 ecosystem has been much less annoying for me. I'm fine with exclusives as long as they go multiplatform when the "deal" expires. I'm sure the XBONE and even the Wii U will have\have some stuff I want to play but there is just too much as it is now.

I'm betting Insomniac felt like Playstation was a poor platform to be aligned with in comparison to Xbox after seeing what was likely disappointing numbers in Resistance 3 and a couple of Ratchet games. I'm guessing after so many flops recently, they had to find funding from somebody...anybody. Microsoft saw an opportunity to steal a well know Sony dev and jumped it. Meanwhile sony realized that Insomniac's games havn't clicked with gamers, they own the IP's so they let them go. If they want to make more Ratchet and Clank games they'll hire someone who they think can get the job done.

Eh I just finally saw the gameplay footage of Sunset Overdrive.  I'm less stoked/jealous now.  Just seemed like a lot of strafing while shooting and some rail grinding.  Actually reminds me more of R&C in a Infamous universe.

That... That actually sounds pretty good. :whistle2:k

Yeah Sunset Overdrive looks cool but I didn't see much in the gameplay that really wowed me. Insomniac's problem was they didn't move away from Ratchet sooner. Not that the games aren't good, but Naughty Dog moved on to Uncharted and Sucker Punch moved on to Infamous. Ratchet didn't look as appealing anymore.

Sounds like a legit theory to me.

Why are you guys acting like Microsoft owns the company now? All they did was pay a third party to fund a new game, instead of moneyhatting a multiplatform one someone was already making.

Insomniac just made a Sony exclusive Ratchet and Clank in the last year. And it was good. It was even priced well, but if no one bought it why should they ever make more? With the trouble they seem to be having lately we should probably hope Sunset Overdrive does well, even if we don't get to play it.

Anyway, I'm finally finishing up the few $1 games I bought earlier this month. Tokyo Jungle was more fun than I thought it was going to be, but I also got irritated with its flaws fairly fast as well. I sort of wish it was more simmy and less random arcade bullshitty. At least getting chased by swarms of lions is kind of funny.

Also playing the Crash games. I wasn't particularly impressed by 2 (and skipped 1 knowing it would be dated and possibly frustrating), but 3 is pretty decent so far.

Well, that's what happens when you make shitty spin-off games and poison the well so that when you release your first legitimate R&C game in FOUR years the sales aren't as good.

I'm almost spending more time playing mobile games. It's surprising how addictive quick 10 minute bursts of MPQ, Knights & Dragons, Kazin Rumble, etc, etc can be.

By the time I get through with my daily check ins for all those I realize I only have a half hour or so left to play Tales or Xillia or start something up on the Vita.

I'll bet Insomniac still does the next R&C game. I doubt Sony has abandoned them for that franchise. Sony will probably just tell them to keep it more traditional instead of the recent styles of FFA and A41. This will, no doubt, coincide with the movie coming out.

I'm so glad my wife sold her crapty v1 Ipad. I was getting sucked into mobile gaming for awhile, and as soon as i quit (cold turkey, given the sell) i realized how many of them (99%) were just grinding gerbil wheels. Really easy, addictive and repetitive.

And I'm not even including the f2p and p2w ones -- i avoided those. There were definitely some great games on ios. But overall? Not worth the time spent finding them.

Well Resistance 3 was really solid and that sold poorly too, like basically every Sony exclusive that's come out recently. I don't think it's entirely because they've deluded the R&C brand, so much as exclusives just don't seem to sell well on PlayStation platforms like they do on Xbox. If I was Insomniac and I saw my games continue to sell poorly, I'd move future stuff to the console that clearly exclusives are selling well on. I'm very interested to see how it works for them.

I wouldn't call Resistance 3 "really solid". Fun? Sure, but it was a glitch-filled mess at times.

I think exclusives sell better on Xbox because Xbox promotes them better and also because Xbox only goes for heavy hitting games and not as much of the niche stuff that Sony does. Also, at least until recently, Xbox 360 was just a more popular platform so it was bound to sell more exclusives (at least in the US). I think it's funny that Insomniac may have picked the wrong horse for next gen (at least as of right now).

I didn't run into any glitches and thought almost everything about it was really fun and well designed. The story was simple but enjoyable enough, and I liked that they brought back the ability to carry all your weapons (and upgrade them) which made for a lot of interesting combat options. It's not world shattering amazing, but it's definitely one of the better shooters I've played in a long time.

Yeah, Microsoft does a much better job of promoting its games. Sony has been doing a better job advertising the PS4, but I still feel they are way behind in promoting the games on it and it's no wonder they don't sell amazing because of it. You can make an amazing game, but if no one knows it came out they can't very well be expected to buy it.
Where is it documented that Xbox exclusives sell better? I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you guys, just curious.
Polygon, of course.

The biggest glitch I ran into involved a section of a level that wouldn't let me advance until all enemies were killed. I restarted the checkpoint at least 3 times, and on the last time was finally able to find an enemy that was so far away I could barely see him with my sniper rifle, and he was completely ignoring me. Took him out and was able to finally progress. This was after downloading all the patches as well.

Also, God forbid you try to delete the game data. I made that mistake while preparing to transfer all the necessary stuff to my new hard drive. Took a good 45 minutes to do it.

Overall though, I liked the game. I know I'm probably in the minority but 2 was my favorite of the series.
