I started with going for the stupid diamond trophy - as a result, I'm at something like awesomeness level 7 and I've barely finished 1/3 of the single player game (no single player diamond trophies yet). I'm really hoping it makes the grind less painful when I pick it back up 30 years from now.

Congrats. I am 20 days out give or take. I thought I was getting 9 stars for the street competition yesterday. Only got 6 for some reason. Never really figured out how the scoring works in that game. I am at 86 stars.

Maybe when you're the only one playing it, you can get #1 on every challenge.

 
holy crap.   for those of you who use the vita browser (looking up stuff for games, etc)... i was getting fed up with pages 'reloading' while i was reading, or taking a long time to load, etc.     screwed around with settings... turning off javascript made an absolute world of difference.   i'm sure it won't help with every site out there, but it massively helped with several bigger sites.    pages that used to just infinitely reload and never finish now load up super fast and stay there.   an easy example of a vastly improved site would be gamefaqs, which is useful for it's guides and such.

highly recommended - turn off javascript in your vita browser settings.

 
Major spoilers for FFX below:

The Eternal Calm video opens with Yuna practicing holding her breath underwater and is able to do it for nearly 3 minutes. If she's a rookie, untrained, it's perfectly reasonable that Blitzball players can hold their breath for 5 minutes at a time while playing.

I'm in the same situation, though I'm at the point where I can get gold trophies on the Daily Challenges within 15-20 minutes each day (sometimes quicker than that), then I move onto something else.

As I said in an earlier post, I should get the plat within 6 more weeks if I can consistently get gold trophies everyday on every challenge, but man, Ubisoft really messed this one up. It would have been much better/less aggravating if gold trophies were worth 25 points instead of 10, or if diamond trophies weren't limited to the top 1% of players.

I finished it today and got 100% so now I can elaborate. My previous position of it being really good stands. It's got really great voice acting, an interesting story and even though I mainly heard it described as a puzzle platformer it's also heavily reminiscent of old school adventure games. I would have been happy to pay the $10-15 for this game and the 4-5 hours of enjoyment I got out if it.

I haven't finished, but I'm liking it as well. It's hilarious. Reminds me of Nickelodeon cartoons from the 90s.

Depends on the output. My phone car charger definitely does not work. I imagine if you already have something for a more demanding device (tablet, GPS) it will, though. Also, the official Sony one should be dirt cheap by now.

Depends on what your cable is rated at. The vita wants a slightly higher charge than some (but not all) other devices. I think it's... 1.5A if I remember correctly? Something like that.

Also, the vita manual is interesting; it says you can charge off of other devices only if the vita is off (not in standby). Um...

"You can also charge your system by connecting it to a USB device such as a computer using the USB cable. When charging your system using a USB device, turn off the power completely."

Perhaps it can charge off the lesser usb amperage only if completely off? Not sure. Haven't tested that.

Thanks. I have a ONN brand car charger but not with me. I have a fairly high output car charger so I will try that.

The real shame is that the game is really really good. Why they added this grindy nonsense when there was already a shitload of good content is beyond me. There was really no reason to not make the trophies worth more or whatever. I'll never play another grind crazy game again!

So. I very much wish we had the option to delete games from our trophy trackers. I'm not really digging Uncharted Golden Abyss, but I'll go crazy knowing it's counting against my completion percentage. 

 
Trying the car charger now. With the Vita on nothing. Will leave it off for 20 mins or so and see what happens. I only need 5 mins or so.

Anybody that has an OG Vita shoould get the cradle if they haven't already. It's great to have an easy way to charge it and make sure it does its auto-update/download stuff without interruption.

Thanks, I've been looking everywhere for Vita accessories, and I didn't even know it existed. One of the reviews says it DOES work with the PDP trigger grip, which I just got.

My local Kmart had the official car adapter for $2 on clearance today, and the screen protectors for $8. I got both.
 
For anyone trying to snag a cradle for the OG vita check your local TRU. They're on blue clearance with an additional 70% off, making them somewhere around 8 bucks or less.

 
Charger didn't work. Oh well next time I need to remember to bring the car charger I have assuming I can find it. Maybe try Kmart for a second one and leave one in each car. I was trying to pickup a street challenge (Smart As) in another city. I did get one for the city near my parents. So I only need 9 points for 100.

we do have the option to hide a game. which is pretty much the same thing.

Any game you've so much as started gets added to your trophies. You can just go into your trophies and under privacy settings, hide the game. Trophy tracking sites don't pick up the hidden trophies for stats, so you can boost your completion percentage...like me!

Not sure if you're aware I didn't write that article, nor did I make an analysis of anything other than ESPN's obvious love for Lebron.

I can just tell you right now how I feel about the Michael Sam situation. I think it's great for the sport, and young people will be able to look up to him as a role model. I almost thought he wasn't going to get drafted, but fortunately a team stepped in and took him. Together, Michael Sam and the Rams are going to prove to the world that it doesn't matter if you're "different", you can do whatever you want. Think about the number of high school and college athletes who are in the same position he was. Now to have a role model who tore down that barrier, is amazing for all sports and our culture as a whole. I mean, for crying out loud the man has two first names! Imagine the obstacles he's had to face because of that. And now he's going to be a professional athlete, despite his names holding him back. I know there are a lot of assholes out there who are going to rag on him for having two first names, but he just needs to stay positive and ignore the hate. He and the Rams are proving to young athletes with two first names around the world that they can all be successful.

-Bayonetta was on sale before i think and its on psn

-Resonance of Fate is not on psn.

-Ratchet A Crack In Time is not on psn but Future Tools Of Destruction is on the eu psn only.

Extremely repetitive. It can be good if you have an abundance of patience. To get the most out of the story you need to play all 5 character chapters and then a final chapter.

Each character chapter takes about 10-12 hours and largely involves running through the same exact motions. The levels are mixed up, but each character has to farm their own levels, gold (to buy inventory space), and potions. The number 90x will be burned into your brain for all eternity.

The final chapter was the best part of the game. It's a shame it takes so long to get to it.

 
So my wonderful cat, who has already cost me over $4k in the last 4 years in vet bills decided to knock a large cup of water onto both of my DS3 controllers. After letting them dry for a full week, I tried one of them out. Down, L1, and L2 don't work at all. Didn't bother testing L3/R3 (couldn't think of a convenient test), but every other button works. So that's garbage. Charging the 2nd controller now, which if I am very lucky will only have a much shorter battery life than it used to, and not also be broken. Else I will have to spend ~$70 replacing my DS3s. Hopefully people who use my PS3 to watch annoying shows on Netflix will chip in towards 1 or 2 new controllers. Kinda glad right now that my Move controller won't work with Netflix, cause there's at least some incentive for people to chip in since it doesn't.

In other news, my 20GB PS3 (500GB replacement HDD), which my exbf very graciously took apart to apply new thermal paste to, is already starting to overheat just from being turned on for a few minutes (or I assume it's overheating since once you turn the PS3 on the fan immediately turns on and after being on another 10 minutes after that the fan kicks it into high gear) so I guess I'm going to have to get him to take it apart again and have a look again.

I'm enjoying God of War 1 but man, this game is so "bad".  Bad's not even the right word but it's what my gut goes to when I try to figure out how to describe it.  Like everything that Knack gets ripped for is no better in my experience with the GoW series.  Only played through Chains of Olympus and half of the first game so I'm interested to see if 2 and 3 make that big of a leap or if GoW just had that it factor that Knack missed on.  Even despite the stupid cheap deaths, the agile god killer who can't walk on a beam wider than his torso, and the various other dumb things it still makes you want to keep playing.
