So after finishing Tomb Raider I've narrowed down what I'm gonna play next: Infamous 1, Arkham Asylum, or Uncharted 1. Any suggestions?
Amy.

per Wolfenstein 2nd timelines - Yeah I am playing the Wyatt timeline now also, finishing collectibles, armor upgrades and etc. Playing on 'Can I play please, daddy' lol. Just running and gunning the whole way. I am surprised how different the game is exchanging hacking with lockpicking. The beginning of the 3rd level was totally different after lockpicking a door, climbing a ladder way up, grabbing the marksman sniper gun and then ziplining down into another building. On the Fergus timeline you don't even get the sniper gun til halfway through the game. I do miss Fergus tho...Wyatt is so vanilla boring.

You have an Infamous avatar and you've never played the game?
Not the first one, no. Started with 2 when I got it free with plus and just recently picked up the first one for cheap. But after getting 100% on Infamous 2, Festival of Blood, and Second Son, I'm kinda infamous'd out right now. Think I'm gonna start up Arkham Asylum tho.

Dragon Fantasy Book is pretty cool.  Anyone who whined about having to press the directional button again when leaving places just likes to whine.

This makes me glad I picked Wyatt first.

So after finishing Tomb Raider I've narrowed down what I'm gonna play next: Infamous 1, Arkham Asylum, or Uncharted 1. Any suggestions?
You can't go wrong with any of those, although Uncharted probably hasn't aged as well as the others. Since lately you've been playing a lot of Infamous I vote Arkham. That's one helluva game.

That's promising at least, the desolation caught my attention initially but I had a hard time staying interested in it. The last thing I remember is...

got past the big area with a bunch of humans that was way tougher than I expected - like a construction site or something, I remember walking through big pipes and later through some narrow hallways - and I remember sneaking past my first mutated thingamabob guy sneaking behind desks and stuff and junk? Maybe in a seemingly tall building? That's about it.

Now it's been several months since I played so I don't know if I'll have to start over to remember how to even play. I really want to give it a shot since everyone wants to make out with the game so bad, but man I am not motivated.
This sounds very early in the game, but maybe i'm misremembering. The game does get progressively better the further you get, but it sounds like you've got a lot of game ahead of you if you're not enjoying it. Also, 8 hours sounds pretty ridiculous for anything other than a speed run, but I guess i'm just slow. I took over 20 hours and know others who did as well and remember hearing the average was around 12-15 and thinking that sounded impossible. I'm not good or fast at games, but 8 hours just seems implausible unless you are playing on the easiest level, ignoring collectibles and not exploring. My favorite part of the game was just taking my time and exploring the details of the world.

Holy shit, the ending to AC4 was awesome. I was so confused about how Frisky could say they threw everything out the window...then I checked his trophies, and he didn't play past the second sequence, so that explains it. They definitely keep everything from previous games in tact, and continue to build on it. There's a lot more going on than just you playing as a game tester for Abstergo.

He's like midway through chapter 2 :) And speed runs for Last of Us are more like 4 hours. My last two playthroughs were fast, though, so you're right that I'm underestimating the time it would take a new person. 12-15 is probably much more like it.

I'm kind of surprised how many people hated the controls in Last of Us. Did you guys play the multi at all?

Guess it comes down to preference. Sure developers have to make design compromises, but I'll almost always take a higher framerate over increased particle effects, resolution and such. I just think input and corresponding output are the most crucial elements of gameplay. It's probably the reason I really enjoy stuff like MGS, Burnout, Wipeout, CoD, and most platformers. It's also made all the HD collections a blast to play. I'm not going to skip a game because of a lower FPS, though. Driveclub's 30-cap is disappointing and I do think the devs made the wrong choice, but I still pre-ordered it. Day 1 as long as it's good.
Well, that's the thing every single 30fps defender is saying - it comes down to preference. Most people on the 60fps side act like it's either 60fps or a "fucking slideshow". Few, if any, 30fps defenders are claiming that 30 fps is 'better' than 60fps... but that what you get instead of the 30fps is worth it. If people actually discussed things civilly on the net, there wouldn't be crazy fps wars.

Get mad about 20fps games with screen tearing where a bit of optimization could have fixed everything (Fallout ps3, i'm looking at you), not games where developers are hitting locked 30fps in exchange for great things (driveclub being a perfect example, i'll gladly take weather/daynight and those beautiful environments over 60fps. I love NFS games and 30fps locked never bothered me there.

We'll have this discussion every gen for awhile though; it's not like the choices ever go away. At least we're hitting 1080/60fps more often (at least... on ps4).

My Last of Us save says I'm 7.5 hours in at 34% complete. Stealth games tend to make me overly cautious, especially one with enemies as deadly as The Last of Us.

My first TLoU playthrough (Hard) took 20+ hours, but I was able to cut it down to 12-15 hours by my fourth playthrough on Survivor+ because by that point, I was OWNING at it. :whee:

I've been playing so many action games lately that I think I'll turn to Guided Fate Paradox next. I know somebody in here keeps talking about it, but forget who. Time to see if it lives up to the hype.

Edit: Man, the opening animation is ridiculously loud and heavy. Not at all expected.

That was Tyler.

Just finished Transistor, pretty good. I was super drawn into the world they created
I mean destroyed
I felt like at the end, I was being as cheap as possible to defeat the enemies, but also felt smart because of it. The story was pretty decent, a nice amount of confusing and clear. Forcing you to think and all that.

By the end

I defenatly wished that the roles of the main charachters had been reveresed, the man being the playable characher and the woman the sword simply so that it wouldn't be the girl commiting suicide at the end...by using her boyfriend. The whole, boyfriend kills the girl for her own good trope is bs,

edit: also the new game plus mode is pretty nice. I'm excited to play through again with all of the limiters activated.

I adore the multiplayer. I'm buying the remake day 1 just to start it from the ground up again. I didnt have any trouble with the controls either. Headshots all day long.

Any word on whether Sly Collection will be cross buy in NA? I have 1 from Plus and 2 is "purchased" from timed trial. If need to buy 3 to unlock the crossbuy, but $10 seems a reasonable price for the package.

I don't think we found out about God of War until the day of release, so you'll have to check back then.

So far TGFP is super, super easy and super, super heavy on cut scenes. Hoping those both change rather soon.
Yes and no. The beginning is loaded with them and luckily that dies down, but you will ALWAYS get a cut scene after clearing a floor for the first time on a story-based dungeon. Fortunately, dungeons get much longer and more complex, so you'll play much more than watch cut scenes. The game gets much harder, but I've found that being patient manages to keep it all at an appropriate challenge.

Pretty much how the internet is. It sucks, but you shouldn't let it stop you from contributing. Just don't try to change someone else's opinion as it's like talking to a brick wall; you aren't going to get anywhere except angry.Or be like me and put a cat as your avatar and then apparently you can say anything and people will still love you...
we just think your crazy. Can't fight crazy.

play all of them.

Stotch, what level was your party when you reached the final boss in Star Ocean? Trying to see how much grinding I need to do.

I honestly don't know. It would have been way higher than necessary. I did a lot of grinding until I got to that point. I'd say give it a shot if you feel comfortable. The only thing that sucks about that part:

As you make the trek to the final boss, you have to fight a bunch of the older bosses. I don't think you can save after these battles, so if you die, you're stuck doing them over again.

I'll have to read that later, I'm not quite there yet. I beat the boss at the end of Aeos pt 2 with Edge at like 51 and the rest of the party at 45. I went for the chest there before hitting the save point, and was forced into the fight before I had a chance to save/heal. I was able to squeeze through it despite that though, so crisis averted. I would've been ticked if I would've lost everything I did in that dungeon.

Im price matching the Target Watch Dogs deal at walmart tonight. Wonder if they will honor the 5$ gift card too? The deal is 60 for WD and 25$ for a year of ps+

The first few levels in Uncharted 3 aren't anywhere near as exciting and engaging as in the previous games. (I'm like Chapter 3 or 4 right now). Dulls ville. Hardly any of the past run-n-shoot excitement.

And they start the story with in media res. Again!

yes on PS3.

no on Vita.
I haven't played the PS3 version, but I thought the Vita version was outstanding.

I think Uncharted 3 is more of a mix of 1 and 2. 1 was mostly focused on puzzles. 2 was a shooter, with a very little amount of puzzles ( I mean you fight a fuck ing helicopter on a train?). 3 is mix a of both, with a balanced amount of puzzles and shooting with some extra high intensity action sequences.

I just sent friend requests to a bunch of you. If you didn't get one. And want to add me feel fee. Dont feel bad if I missed you. I am drugged up and don't know amy of you anyway so it isn't personal. Same goes if u want to reject the request. Not a prob. I hold no grudges and don't play mp often anyway.

also is it fun to "speed run" the last of us? If I were to get it I wouldn't want to play a lot if stealth as I get bored. Would just want to play for the story. I know some of you don't know what that means but its cool.
