NISA announcement:

"NIS America is excited to announce that Danganronpa™ 2: Goodbye Despair, the sequel to the highly popular mystery adventure game Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, will be making its way to the PlayStation®Vita in North America on September 2 and to Europe on September 5. The game will be available in both retail and digital form. As in the first game, players will take on the role of a high school student as they are thrust into a life-or-death situation, and must use their wits and teamwork to survive. Each student was chosen for a special ability they possess, making them the "ultimate" example of something. Characters in this title are also designed by Rui Komatsuzaki for a unique and darker take on the anime style."

Considering that the DS, DS2 and DS3 were pretty much of identical except for cabling, I don't see how you developed a preference. DS4 is the only meaningful change since they foolishly omitted rumble from the SixAxis.
Ok, negligible differences but still. The DS3 is so light. It's like holding air. DS2 wasn't much heavier but it still had some heft. I also preferred the stiffer sticks on DS2. And, finally the triggers...those goddamn triggers. I know analog should feel better than buttons but I never got used to them. Otherwise, yes, they are practically the same. Maybe I grade it harsher since it came afterward, idk. I just know I loved my DS2s and never really took to the DS3.

Now that I think about it, half of Stotch's posts were him bragging and pointing out how handsomepete sucks at FF X HD. That has to be readjusted.
in his defense, I am completely awful at it. I can't believe how long the damn ultima animation is, it makes fighting stupid greater spheres take f-o-r-e-v-e-r. how anyone maxes all their sphere grids in less than 120h is a mystery to me.

It's not a mystery, you just plain suck at it. Suck it, pete.

...

Just need 400+ of these and I'm golden for #1.

Because it's been a popular topic recently, here's some stats to clear up who really posts too much:

  • tylerh1701 - 778
  • ProfessorStotch - 695
  • FriskyTanuki - 494
  • wrencrest - 435
  • crunchewy - 425
  • EldritchOnRye - 412
  • Vigilante - 380
  • handsomepete - 324
  • Thermopyle - 298
  • SJD - 247
Apparently I go for quality over quantity.

You cast ultima? There's your problem. People who don't suck use attack reels.

And an update on my Transformer purchase.  The seller must have known he fucked up because he issued me a full refund.  So now I gotta decide if I'm going to buy another one or just go with this.  I'm sure it's playable; I just like taking care of my games.

90% of his posts are saying something and then replying to himself a half dozen times in a row.

It could swing either way over the life of this thread. I can see climbing to #5. Easy.
Jumping over me in post count isn't something to feel good about.

Use that money to help fund a VPN for @Jay.

Am I too late? What happened to "never" and "this is the full experience"?

The PC claim is hilarious too, seeing as you couldn't even navigate menu's w/o a controller attached (at least at launch, not sure about now) to PC version.
Yeah, this is part of why I called DS2 a cashgrab. First the pre-order DLC, then the reused assets, then the sloppy PC port (despite the delay and supposedly being the LEAD platform) and now this.

I'd be happy with one big expansion like Artorias, but nope, we're getting three which I'm assuming are piecemeal additions.

I think the older ME1 gets, the more disappointing it will be for someone who started on 2 like I did. I played 2, 1, and then 3. Since you know the story your choices don't matter as much and you'll be confused by whatever choices you made or the game made in 2 and 3. Also, the gameplay is kind of poor in 1. The basic story of 1 is, however, pretty good. Just make sure your expectations are tempered if you ever do get around to 1. I'd love to see the next gen version of 1 have a lot of improvements, but that doesn't seem likely.
Mass Effect is a text book example of why delays aren't a bad thing, as it would've been nice if Microsoft gave them another six months or so to polish the game instead of releasing it as a good, very flawed game.

No, it counters with ultima. Such an annoying mechanic.

And to show how much I suck, I gleefully neglected wakka until now. Instead I maxed out lulu first. I am not good at this game.
Farming Earth Eaters is worse. But if you're going to cheese the Dark Aeons with Zanmato, you don't even need to farm all that luck. I did it because I always max stats, but normal people don't bother.

I hate to switch subjects but I'm a bit confused. I thought with the new PS+ update that started on June 2nd all six games would be released at once. I'm still seeing Terraria, Sly Cooper, Mutant Mudds and Trine 2 at normal price. Is there just a delay with the store being updated fully, or is something else going on, or perhaps am I a complete idiot?

That happens in July, not June. June still does it weekly.

How's Wolfenstein on the smiley scale so far?
I'm extremely burnt out on shooters and didn't see myself playing another WW2 one ever again. That being said it's a lot of fun so far and I'm nearly half way in. I'm playing it on the easiest setting for the cheap platinum so maybe it's less fun on others, I can't really speak to that. The story is a bit heavy handed but surprisingly interesting so far and I like the whole alternate history angle (it's in the commercials that were all over TV amongst other things so not a spoiler).

Falls somewhere between guilty pleasure and surprisingly good. Manages to tread that line between Modern FPS and old school throwback really well. Like you'll walk into a room sometimes and see something that's right out of Wolfenstein 3D and yet it works. There's also a lot of divergent paths and optional ways to approach areas (usually a stealth option) and even though you still wind up in the same place that's a nice change from the standard downhill corridors you get in games like CoD.

Weapons feel good but I haven't come across any reason to use anything but your preferred option once you farm the perks. It also does that take all your stuff away thing pretty often but it's in service of the story (which I don't mind because I'm enjoying it) and so far I've gotten it back pretty quickly once the purpose has been served.

Basically it's not the reinvention of the FPS but it does a remarkable job blending two very different eras of the genre while telling a more interesting narrative than most. It just comes together and is fun the way that I kept waiting for Second Son to even if I would still call that the better game.

So on the smiley scale it gets the second highest honor which is for games that are fun and that I'm enjoying playing even if they aren't transcendent:

unfortunately all I have left is dark yojimbo who seems cheeseproof with the five in a row thing. I'm pretty close though. with earth eater I just keep two people with auto phoenix and memory cursor and hit x over and over while watching tv.

incidentally, it looks like earth eater is shooting flares out of his butt. that's kinda funny.

Just got a email from Jay and he says he's not IP banned to the idiots that think so. He's just not posting and sees everything.

Also Eldritch good luck in getting the glitch to work. I passed since it didn't work for me and traded it in today. I'll pick it up on the cheap again. Looks like 94% will have to do for now.

Pics or it didn't happen jay.

Hopefully it does. If not I might be willing to at least attempt it on UBER with all the perks and health boost if it continues to be fun.

Also go Kings.

Reads like something I would've wrote, especially the burn't out part. I'll get to it eventually, considering I'm playing Watch Dogs and Transistor mainly.

And the world's better for it.

I don't have beef with Jay or Tyler, but this thread was pretty far down the "three people posting nothing but in jokes" rabbit hole. This week has been slower paced. In a good way.

Sad little man. :-({|=

Also, just make sure to delete the update file and done. In the PS4, it would require uninstalling the game I guess, which is a bit of a hassle.

http://www.totalxbox.com/70379/there-is-definitely-potential-for-dark-souls-2-dlc-says-namco/

From Jan 31, 2014 "There is definitely potential, I think," Miyazoe told OXM's Aoife Wilson at a recent preview event. "Again, it's all about fan feedback. Right now we are concentrating on completing what we've got, but I think there are next steps on how we can expand on Dark Souls 2. So I'm not really ready to say look forward to more information, but I think the potential is definitely there."

I wouldn't pick it up for more than $40 just because it's still a linear single player only game. I only got it on launch day because it was part of the points train that Kmart let me run to get Watch Dogs, Wolfenstein, Mario Golf, and Kirby on release days for about $90 total plus $30 more in points.

I tried that and no trophies. It wasn't a hassle just didn't work for me.
I deleted the whole thing including saves since I was still in the first level and hopefully it works out.

Traken's Son: Jay? But why is he gone, dad?
Traken: Because we had to ban him.
Traken's Son: He didn't do anything wrong.
Traken: Because he's the hero PSN thread deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So, we'll ban him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dark Knight.

Project Beast is confirmed* not to be a Souls game, but a new IP from From based on Solomon Kane.

Consider my hype lowered.

Used Xbox Live for the first time in about five years and they're still run by lying pieces of shit. Well, that's my dumbass fault for falling for it again.

So i finished the story of Ratchet 1 and started 2.  I dont know if I want to go back to get the plat on 1.   2 is so much better!  Strafe!  And the camera/controls are just tighter all around.
