In addition to the other suggestions, have you tried to power cycle your system? Not sure if it's still a thing, but in previous firmware you had to power cycle to get the system to actually release & make available the storage freed up from deleting things. Just a thought, good luck & HTH.

More just exploring to find the various weapons hidden throughout the map and figuring out how to get to the right area to unlock the next ability that opens up more of the map to explore. It might be difficult early on until you upgrade your health bar and get the item that makes it easier to get health back from certain enemies.

At this exact moment 43.27 GB. I had more yesterday and have only been trying to download a bunch of older PSN and PS+ titles that are very small in size. About half of them go off without a hitch and the other half greet me with that.

I should add that in the last 3 days I've downloaded over 20 games while I'm on vacation. I started with the larger downloads I had been sitting on like Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls but all of a sudden yesterday that error popped up and since then it's been around 50% success rate.

You need to clear up more space. There's something about the free space where it won't let you reach a certain amount and will block downloads, so you have to clear up more room if you want to download bigger games.

I assume you have a stock (original) 500gb drive? If the games you are trying to download are fairly small, your HDD may have a problem (corrupted, bad sectors, etc.). If you haven't gotten a 2tb drive to upgrade, I strongly recommend it. I got a Seagate 2tb external, opened the case and upgraded my system with that.

I assume you've searched the Web for any information related to the problem too.

I feel like on my older PS4 I never had that problem and got it down to less than 1 GB. I'm literally trying to download games less than 1 GB with over 40 GBs remaining. On top of that, larger games have downloaded fine. Yesterday after getting that error with Super Meat Boy and Limbo I was able to download Tales from Borderlands and Game of Thrones just fine. There's literally no pattern or rhyme or reason to it.

I have the 1TB Black Ops III system. I Googled it right away and while others reported it there was no consensus on a root cause that I could find but will continue to research it.

Personally it sounds to me like there's a bad sector on your hard drive and you are randomly hitting it when trying to fill up space.

Didn't see these mentioned yet:

Infamous: Second Son and Infamous: First Light are both worth playing if you like open world games and should be pretty easy to find for cheap. I would definitely play Second Son first.

The Order: 1886 is another I thought was way better than it was reviewed if you go in with the right expectations. It's definitely on the shorter side and there are a lot of sections where all you're doing is walking and watching an interactive movie basically, but I had fun with it.

I think all three of these titles are great too.

I enjoyed Infamous : SS & FL. The powers and the open world are just incredibly fun to take advantage of. Definitely solid exclusives.

I would have been pissed if I'd paid full price ($59.99) for The Order : 1886 when it was released, but for the ~$8 I paid for it used, I was quite satisfied with the 5-7 hours I spent on it. The universe is actually interesting, and I think it's unfortunate that we probably won't see a sequel to this. The gameplay was serviceable. Kinda like a more relaxed Gears of War.

The Last Guardian is fantastic. Glad I started on it today cause the latest patch that just recently came out tightened up the controls and made the framerate smoother. Anyways I'm having a lot of fun.

I didn't realize that could happen. Figured it was always an all or none situation with storage when it went bad. I guess there's no other explanation for it. Thanks!

I always hit the download issue at about 21-22 GB left even on small games less than a gig. I'm not sure if I have a bad sector issue or if that is line where it just won't download more due to system constraints.

If I knew for sure it was a hard drive problem, I might back up my saves, reformat it and download everything again. But not going to do that if that is a common threshold.

What are others experiencing as far as the point in space left where you cannot download even small stuff?

On my X1, I can literally get all the way down to the tens of MB left. Not sure if the PS4 doesn't account for system usage in free space available.

I'm happy to see This War of Mine as a PS+ game. However, I'm disappointed I just bought it on sale on XB1 last week! I haven't played it yet, but it looks to be a really intense and awesome game.

I was excited to finally play Titan Souls. It's amazing how one game can shamelessly rip off two of my favorite games and come out so bland and uninteresting.

Been playing some Lost Sea, which is a decent action roguelite that has been pretty easy so far. I got through the first world of islands and put the PS4 on standby when I got to the first island in the second setting since it was a good hour or so run at that point. Seems like it has mostly easy trophies to go with that.

I meant to say the camera was tightened up and improved which makes the controls better, no official patch notes yet but most articles say the same thing but here's a quote from one

today was my first time playing but the controls are fine and not bothering me at all. I don't know how it was before 12/22 (day the patch released) but I have no complaints except that Tirico is stubborn but so is my dog so I can live with it lol.
