No, there are exceptions allowed for those sorts of things, as Skylanders: Swap Force and others have not had a digital release alongside their retail release.

Yeah, the connection/developments between the two main characters could have been super interesting.

Twilight of the Spirits is not great (and you can almost make it unbeatable if you miss buying some accessories part way through the game), but my wife and I still laugh at Darc, the brooding demon, casting heal by snarling "Sooooothing breeze!".

The final boss does shadow/dark damage or something, and the accessory that manages that damage is sold well before that point, and not later. I guess not "unbeatable", but would require a ton of grinding to have enough health to just tank it. At least that's what I remember.

I really liked it. cutscenes are cheesy but awesome if you let them be awesome. if you let them get under your skin you won't like them. Basically your 'crew' has live action interaction... I thought it was well done, overall.

Racing is fine. Fantastic car tuning and customization.

I'd go with Persona 3 if I could only buy one since it has so many different elements including turn-based battles and the social links, but others might suggest Persona 4 since it does all those things better. But Persona 3 is my all time favorite PS2 game because it was so unique at the time. If you can afford them after you try P3, buy them all! They're a lot cheaper now than they were upon release, and that's a lot of gaming for such a small investment.

P3 is more visually simplified on the over world map since the version on Vita is a port from PS2 to PSP, but it has the option to play as a girl instead of a boy. P4 Golden on Vita is an enhanced version of P4. Unless you're a hardcore Persona fan, you're not missing much playing either game on PS3.

NFS (this one) has absolutely fantastic tuning and customization, and you through tuning you can get handling exactly how you like it across a wide spectrum, assuming you like arcade racing in general. the cutscenes are just that, cut scenes... they don't affect gameplay. The only real misstep the game has is police couldn't catch a tortoise, but this nfs isn't about police chases and people complained about the hard police in Rivals.

It's not quite as good as Rivals, Most Wanted, or Hot Pursuit, sure, but it's ridiculously far from terrible. there is zero reason to skip it and not give it a try, especially since it's not like we have much arcade racing to choose from this gen.

I'm not saying the game is great - it does have issues - but worst NFS ever? No ing way. It's beautiful, it's fast, it's got lots of race types, it controls great, graphics are fantastic (all at night, tho), etc. I've plat'd every NFS since ps3 (except mp trophies on The Run)... had a ton of fun here even if it wasn't my favorite.

I seen this suggested before, and have not personally tested it, but may be worth a try.

Are you using your ISP's DNS ? Instead of automatically using your ISP's DNS, try Google's ( 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 ). There are other free public DNS servers you could find on Google as well.

I will be trying this when I get my new hard drive installed in my PS3. Not sure how it would help the speed but I seen it mentioned somewhere before.

When I go to test the connection under settings, it returns the correct speed, but the downloads are going much slower than they should at that speed.

Are you playing a game while downloading? That slows it down a lot, even if it's an offline game.

Congrats on getting a slim PS3. I love mine and it's my most played system at the moment. But yeah, everyone else is right. Downloading anything that isn't a PS1 game takes a long time.

Just not sure if I should get ratchet for vita or ps3. I already own sly collection on ps3.

My download speeds on Steam are about 13 Mbytes per second. My PS3 gets anywhere from 1-4 Mbytes per second, so I assume it's just PSN being slow. I'm not sure what you can do apart from put a bunch of stuff in your queue, increase your auto power off time, and come back later to check it.

Speaking of PS3 downloads, with a 1.5 TB HD inside I want to download a lot of stuff I couldn't fit before. I find the PSN Download List the worst I've ever experienced and don't know how to solve these problems:

- I have well over a thousand items in my list and it takes several minutes of holding the down arrow to reach the end (oldest purchases first).

- After about 10 minutes in the download list, with few exceptions it will experience some sort of server error and kick me out forcing me to re-enter and scroll all the way down to where I was.

- When you select a large download, you have to sit there for seconds or even minutes waiting for it to buffer before you can select the next item.

- PS Vita and PS3 stuff is all mixed together and many times it isn't labeled as the Vita version, so I can't tell which is the right one to download. Only way I know is to go to PSN, check the PS3 version to find the download size and try to match it in the list.

- There is no search function and sometimes the unlock is separated from the "demo version", and it's like finding a needle in a haystack.

- PSN will happily waste GBs of download redownloading something you have already installed without telling you. (The Xbox 360/One clearly tell you it's already installed.) You have to keep accurate notes what's installed.

- Even if you make a list of all your purchases by date, the file size and what format it's for so you know where in the chronological download list to go, as soon as you extend your PSN Plus subscription Sony resets all of your purchase dates to the day you extended your subscription throwing away all your work and jumbling everything.

Basically, it's the worst GUI I've ever witnessed for downloading software. I'm almost better off to log in, search on titles I know I bought, and click download to PS3 instead of find it in the awful download list. I wanted to print my purchase history, but Sony splits it up into so many pages. The bottomline is if you have more than a thousand items in your list, unless you have massive amounts of time, it's nearly impossible to find the games you want to download. What I wouldn't give for a "download all PS3 games not already installed on this console" option. Considering no improvements have been made to this for years, it'll never happen. I love PS3/PS4 games and the XMB in general, but the Xbox shines in the area of downloads compared to Sony.

Any suggestions how to deal with these issues?

I got tired of running out of space and I knew the ps3 was coming to the end so I decided to break down and buy a 1.5tb hard drive

The downloads were and are effing slow all the time for me on ps3 (and even ps4)

the games are like twice the size of their 360 counterparts

I spent a shit ton of my life going through a lot of purchases to download everything again. Sometimes downloading vita shit accidently or because it's labeled poorly

then you have to install everything after downloading it which is another slow process

they say using wired internet makes it faster but other than that the entire process was a pain in the ass and took me a few weeks on slow mountain internet

The vast majority of collections on PS3 are separated, so you can download/install whatever you want.
