Lots of 50%-off-old-games mediocrity going on here, but the games themselves aren't bad.

Why doesn't The Evil Within DLC ever go on sale? The game and its ultimate edition counterpart go on sale all the time...are they aware that people exist who only own the base game? Pretty soon I'm just not gonna care about it.

The Season Pass is on sale.

The beauty and brilliance of GWG now is the backwards compatibility of the 360 titles. That gives people more of those "retail" games they think they want and ALL of the GWG games can be played on the Xbox One. Backwards compatibility is what makes GWG win out in my book lately since I'm really not too interested in getting free PS3 games that I'll actually have to play on my PS3. I sure wish Sony had backwards compatibility in place.

Don't misunderstand me, though. Both services are still a good value and not worth complaining about other than academically.

BC is cool and all for the games I want to go back to, but having built a good PC a few years ago and having Steam sales letting me upgrade to better versions of most of what I'd want to go back to from last gen mitigates that a bit. Having every platform out there with a ton of games on each of them also does the same thing for the lineup for both PS+ and GWG, which is why I subscribe for the great PS+ deals that let me recoup the cost of the sub through the savings and not get worked up about the free games since the interesting stuff is a nice bonus. Microsoft seems weirdly timid and uninterested in being aggressive with sales for Gold people, especially their older Xbox One titles that could be dirt cheap at this point to get people in the door. When was the last time that Lococycle went on sale? A quick Google search suggests it was about 2.5 years ago and that shouldn't be the case for a Microsoft game.

I do think people tend to underestimate the greatness of the Cross Buy feature and active encouragement from developer relations people to port the older games to the new console with better visuals, performance, and sometimes added features and such that was and still is sorely lacking on Xbox One. From the PS4's launch onward, I had a good library of older stuff that cost me nothing and benefited from the new hardware with the weird way it turned some PS+ games into freebies that we fully owned afterward as a nice surprise benefit. Spelunky's a cool offering on GWG as an archaic version of that game before Daily Challenges and the improved UI were added, but it should've gotten an Xbox One port long ago to make that unnecessary. Maybe the weird publisher rules on XBLA would've put the kibosh on that anyway due to additional points of potential failure.

Rebel Galaxy looks interesting but I've got too many games going at once now so I'm trying to finish a few before I start Yakuza 5 plus No Man's Sky like you mentioned. Definitely going to give RG a look later on down the road though.

Are the AC: Syndicate DLC's worth the extra 10 bucks? I haven't even played Black Flag yet, and I already have that. Must resist.

If I only had 20 bucks to spend, better to put that towards Syndicate than RB6: Siege right? Siege appeals to me because of terrorist hunt, which was fun on the RB6: Vegas games.

Games are almost disconnected. AC Black Flag, Syndicate, Rogue and 2 are my favourites. Also, go buy AC Syndicate with Season Pass as it has an XP boost for Single Player and Jack The Ripper DLC (which is great) and some Single Player missions for main campaing.

The beauty and brilliance of GWG now is the backwards compatibility of the 360 titles. That gives people more of those "retail" games they think they want and ALL of the GWG games can be played on the Xbox One. Backwards compatibility is what makes GWG win out in my book lately since I'm really not too interested in getting free PS3 games that I'll actually have to play on my PS3. I sure wish Sony had backwards compatibility in place.

Don't misunderstand me, though. Both services are still a good value and not worth complaining about other than academically.

Personally I prefer the PSN offerings than the GWG every month, but that BC with the 360 titles is *very* strong.

Game seems rather barebones. It does what it does well but my CAG senses kick in and say my money is worth more. I'd expect it to be a PS+ free game down the road.

I played some yesterday. It's nice for what it is. Peaceful, relaxing, kinda cool. It's not much of a "game" though. I will probably get my $16 of entertainment value out of it just messing around, but the main reason I got it was that I had already preordered Headlander (which is a pretty cool game) and by getting this as well I can earn a 20% off coupon that will more than pay for Abzu by itself if used during a decent Flash Sale.
