Just finished Layers of Fear + DLC (Inheritance) and going through Axiom Verge. Maybe off-topic, as these titles were on sale a while back, but I thought Axiom Verge and its developer absolutely deserve the extra praise / support. 

I feel sort of guilty that I held off until the 50% sale to buy Axiom Verge. It's an incredible game, though I may be biased, as some of my fondest memories are of staying up all night to play Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, and Metroid Zero Mission. I'm enjoying Axiom Verge so much that if the developer were to make a sequel and charge full AAA price for it, I might cave in and buy it on day one. Not certain I would, but I'm absolutely certain that if I were to, I would have zero regrets, if the quality / experience is anything on par with Axiom Verge. I'm a huge fan of the GBA / DS 2-D Castlevanias, and I'm enjoying this even more. Wouldn't say it has the depth or polish of SoTN, but it's incredible to think one person did all the work for this title. 

As for Layers of Fear.... The tension, mechanics driving the fear (the constantly shifting room layouts), and visual effects are commendable but ultimately, the game really falls flat in terms of gameplay. Some of the puzzles are frustrating, not because you're lost as to what to do, but because of some poor choices in design. For example, there's a puzzle that requires you to find and put the missing wheel of a toy cat onto its body. For whatever stupid reason, the developers wouldn't let you do so until you put the wrong piece (a clock gear) into place and see the cat frown. Only then, would it let you do what any person with half a brain would have done first. There are a few instances with these puzzling and confusing design choices. 

Inheritance DLC is a side story of sorts, which is nice if you want to know more of what happened to the protagonist and his family, but it basically strips away the game's strongest and most unique point (the house shifting), and makes it into a more typical walking simulator. 

Axiom Verge is easily worth full price. Layers of Fear... It's not a terrible experience for roughly the five bucks that I paid.

I understand that. That's why I said it might be a good benefit to give like 10 hours to PS+ subscribers. Would add value to PS+ while simultaneously possibly adding to those who may pay more for PS Now.

I'm just here to say that Final Fantasy 15 is one of the best games in the series, maybe my favorite.

FF 12 was incredible, and I hear they are making a remake.

XII will be a remaster of the International version just like FFX HD was. I'm looking forward to playing it again.

Got Nioh today and it's every bit as awesome as the hype. I was torn reading that it can be even more difficult than the Souls games. But so far I think it has a greater sense of progression and by time you get back to where you died you can feel like a total bad ass.

And as far as these type of games, I also kind of like the more linear storyline. Can't tell you how many times in Bloodborne I was lost as to where to go and what to do next. Still haven't finished BB. If what I've played so far is any indication, I'll probably finish Nioh before it.

Paypal alway works on pcgamesupply's mobile site (I just used it for their most recent deal a few hours ago - as well as many of their other deals over the past couple weeks). Who knows if the PayPal option on their mobile site is a mistake or not, but it definitely works. An iPad will definitely forward you to the desktop version of their website instead of their mobile site. As someone who Platinumed BB and am most likely going to fully complete & platinum Nioh, i'll say Nioh is definitely the easier game.

I guess it subjective really and depends on your character build and playstyle.

But some tips for nioh that have helped me alot in my playthrough:

Spoiler

Have a piece of Equipment or a Guardian Spirit that has the ability "Sense Enemies" at all times. (this will save your life alot.)

Learn what soul matching is and try to keep the armors/weapons you find with the best perks locked as you can level them as you progress, raising their base defense or Attack. (I.E: keeping that piece of armor that restores health leveled and no ditching it because your finding higher leveled gear but with worse perks).

Don't be afraid to summon and fight the other players that have died, look at their equipment and if you see their character has Purple and Blue equipment, fight them. That is a good way to gain really good equipment fast. (Also look at their character level, the higher their level the more likely their gonna have some really good equipment drop).

As for fighting yokai, ill just say that some of them have obvious weak points that will render them immobile for a few seconds, a hint, think of the one spot a cyclops might need to protect and aim something at that spot.

For bosses, i would say try out some different onymo magic on them, i wont say which but their are a few spells that will render them immobile and basically sponges to massacre in seconds if your strong and quick enough.

As someone who Platinumed BB and am most likely going to fully complete & platinum Nioh, i'll say Nioh is definitely the easier game.

I guess it subjective really and depends on your character build and playstyle.

But some tips for nioh that have helped me alot in my playthrough:

Have a piece of Equipment or a Guardian Spirit that has the ability "Sense Enemies" at all times. (this will save your life alot.)

Learn what soul matching is and try to keep the armors/weapons you find with the best perks locked as you can level them as you progress, raising their base defense or Attack. (I.E: keeping that piece of armor that restores health leveled and no ditching it because your finding higher leveled gear but with worse perks).

Don't be afraid to summon and fight the other players that have died, look at their equipment and if you see their character has Purple and Blue equipment, fight them. That is a good way to gain really good equipment fast. (Also look at their character level, the higher their level the more likely their gonna have some really good equipment drop).

As for fighting yokai, ill just say that some of them have obvious weak points that will render them immobile for a few seconds, a hint, think of the one spot a cyclops might need to protect and aim something at that spot.

For bosses, i would say try out some different onymo magic on them, i wont say which but their are a few spells that will render them immobile and basically sponges to massacre in seconds if your strong and quick enough.

your post reminds me of the early days of demon's souls. there's always someone saying "this game is easy." but when asked which class they used, they would reply with mage... yeah, magic in souls game are usually considered easy mode.

nioh magic is broken op. if you're applying what you posted, then you're definitely playing on easy mode. why would anyone equip enemies sense unless they just want the element of surprise gone... which is part of the enjoyment of a first blind playthrough.

The only thing that puts me off from it is that it's supposed to be punishingly difficult compared to the other Dirt games. I understand Dirt Rally 2 will at least have the option to be a little more casual.

It is a bit boring, but you can't exclude that when measuring the game's difficulty. You can't blame him for taking advantage of what he's been given. Besides, figuring out how to abuse a game's mechanics is a fun game in and of itself. When I play a new game, I always try to test it - my favorite thing to do is just trying to run by enemies. If a game lets me run by 90% of enemies without fighting, then that's really lame (FF15).

By the way, I received 3 emails from Sony congratulating me on the Nioh platinum - one on each of the last three days.
