If you signed up for the Paragon beta on Epic's site, they sent out emails today about opening it up for the weekend with instructions on how to play the PS4 version instead of just PC.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1067367405/stern-pinball-arcade-ac-dc/

Farsight is making a new version of Pinball Arcade just for Stern tables with a new process they have for emulating those more recent tables in their engine and have a Kickstarter going for the AC/DC table set at about $108k with it being $10 to ensure you get the table. Stern Pinball Arcade will launch with Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (the default free table), Ripley's Believe It or Not!, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Starship Troopers as the launch tables with AC/DC potentially being one of them if it succeeds. The upcoming Ghostbusters table will be coming to it later this year, which is cool to see. It seems that this will only be on PS4 and not the PS3 or Vita.

Because Disney decides what they want to put on sale, if anything at all, and the fact that they're on sale on multiple platforms at once is further proof of that.
Considering the Star Wars sales are nigh identical on both platforms, with the exception of TFU1 and the dlc I'm calling bullshit on Disney being the culprit.

I wish they had table bundles

I downloaded the free table and it was pretty fun but if I start buying tables I'll probably not stop

trying to avoid it all together
If you have an Android device, get Amazon Underground, Amazon's marketplace for free premium apps. There, you'll find the first season of Pinball Arcade for free - I think that's like 14 tables. When that bundle was last on sale on PSN, I think it was $20 and the normal price is $40.

those prototype games are always on sale but they never are a good enough price for me

I'd never play them so it's not a big deal but I have wanted to add them to the collection for quite some time
Agreed, I'd much rather play them @ 1080p, If they were around $5-$10 range I could see getting them. They come w/ all the DLC packaged nicely as well. However they have(had) issues with frame rate issues when digital foundry tested them on Xbox One vs PS3 and 360.

They're sloppy ports, but what I don't know is, how does the frame rate hold up on the PS4? Have they been patched up to fix bugs/issues? I can't find much other then let's plays when I use the old google. Guess it's moot though since I won't buy them till Activision accidentally puts them on a realistic sale price. (Prototype 1 came out when the first Infamous game came out!).

Sony has no say on 3rd party pricing.
Anyone who believes this is frankly quite delusional, or they just don't understand the business side of things. Sony does have a say in 3rd party pricing. Whether they choose to exert a lot of pressure, a little or none at all on the 3rd parties and their pricing so that their products will be included in various PSN sales is another matter. Since the switch away from giving out retail, triple AAA titles every month two years ago, Sony is letting all the publishers know that there is less stringent pricing policy from Sony, and hence more profit for the publishers if they choose to participate in Sony's PSN sales.

I don't have an issue either way with Sony's policy or their sale prices. If I perceived something is priced too high, I just don't buy it. I was just pointing out that Sony is under no obligation, nor do they have any incentive to change their policy if their business model is working (i.e., people keep buying into their sales).

To me, if Sony does well with these sales, then there's more R&D funds going into projects like the Playstation VR, which I'm excited about, and I hope that it will turn out well.

I was browsing the May 4 sale page on the PlayStation app. Once I bought it free has been replaced with download now.

So you're suggesting that Sony's blocking Disney from putting a few pieces of DLC? I don't see why Sony would deny them such a thing if they intended to do so considering there's a piece of The Force Unleashed II DLC that is on sale. From what I can tell, they have not been on sale in nearly five years when LucasArts were in charge of that stuff. Here is last year's sale for reference's sake. Largely the same, though there are a handful of games not on sale that are mostly PS2 Classics.

If you're suggesting that because something happens on one and not the other that somebody stopped Disney from doing so, you might like to know that the Endor DLC for The Force Unleashed 2 is on sale for PS3, but not on Xbox 360. Is that because Microsoft blocked them in a weird battle of extremely minor DLC of The Force Unleashed games? Or is it more likely that Disney made whatever decision they made as to what goes on sale or doesn't themselves? I also see that XBL and Steam are missing one or two of the Star Wars Pinball packs from their sales, which also seems to favor the notion that Disney made the decisions and not the platform holders on what was allowed to go on sale. I'm not seeing the reason why any of the platform holders would deny any request Disney would make for this sale, as they'd most likely kill to get any Star Wars money they could get.

So, if I want to buy the Star Wars pinball games to primarily play them on my vita, I should not buy the season pass, right? I would have to buy the individual bundles?

Considering TFU2 dlc normally costs $1, I don't think that 50 cent savings is a huge win for the PS crowd.

I'm not really saying anything. It just doesn't make sense no matter how I look at it. Do I think Sony blocked Disney? No. But I think Sony decided what would he part of the sale and what wasn't. And for whatever reason TFU1 and dlc weren't part of it. I have no idea why. Hell, even if they discounted them half price to $5 and not like 77% off like MS did, I would wager a ton of people would've bought that dlc. No one is going to pay $10 a pop for that old shit though.

I'm not sure if anyone else had this happen but check your digital copy of Amplitude if you got it free from the PlayStation store glitch a few weeks back. Mine shows a padlock meaning I've lost digital rights to it. Looks like Sony's taking it back lol

Yeah, just noticed this a few days ago. Glad I played it right away.

Wow, that's kind of shitty and sets a bad precedent when they haven't done it in the past.  Probably on Harmonix throwing a fit I would imagine.

Harmonix is lucky I enjoyed what little I played of it. I can wait for Plus or <$5.

Well that sets a precedent. Steam started removing games bought during price glitches from people's accounts and inventories months ago. I guess Sony has joined the party.

kind of a scary one imo
especially since there weren't any shenanigans to get the game other than adding to cart and buying it

I'm impressed they can do that. I always wondered if developers and publishers are recompensated for what must have been thousands of lost sales due to Sony's error. I wouldn't be surprised if Sony started to look into a procedure to revoke those mistakenly free games after it happened to their own God of War.

For those who already downloaded it for PS3, are you able to play the game? I would be surprised if they could revoke it once it's on your hard drive and you installed the full game unlock key.

ps4 is toast but ps3 I was able to play

Considering that everything on PS4 is set up around licenses that have to be updated periodically it's not surprising they could do it easily. PS3 and Vita stuff I don't think would be quite that easy though.

What's shitty about it? You didn't pay for it but got to play the full game for awhile. I'm sure the only reason they haven't done it in the past was because of technical limitations (supported by the fact that the PS3 version still seems to work for people).

Like I played it at all. It's shitty because they've always honored their mistakes in the past (even on PS4) and it still shows purchased so I may not even be able to get it again at some point.

Pretty much the same happens on PC. A few years ago, no matter the store or the publisher if you bought a game during a price glitch you got to keep the game forever. Nowadays, if the publisher decides to revoke them, Valve has the means to do so.

On Steam this is a bigger problem due to game resellers. A few months ago there was a price glitch for Rift (an MMO) and the publisher told Valve to revoke the games. A bunch of people bought the game for cheap from other people who got it during the price glitch. As a you might imagine, the Steam forums became a shit show.

Apple has been and continues to do some form of blocking or removal of apps for some time now. You should what is the past is the past, you should take the time and read the user agreement that pops up with every system update on all formats that use digital format. Their are always subtle changes to the agreement to keep up with changes in the legal side of "owning" digital media.

I never said they couldn't do it nor does that change the fact that they're going down that road sucks. I am well aware of how digital rights work.

Sony can't force a 3rd party to have a sale, nor tell them what price to set a game at. If Activision wants to have a shitty COD sale, that's on Activision. If Atlus wants to put their games on sale every other week, that's on Atlus. If a company has a better sale on Xbox this week than on PSN (or vice versa), that's on said company. If a company never has a sale, that's on said company.

any tables for zen pinball 2 that anyone recommends?

I bought the star wars season 1 pack but don't have any of the rest
The Alien pack that came out last week is really good.

I also really enjoyed the Portal Table, Deadpool Table, Ant-Man Table and Walking Dead table.
These are all single releases.

They also have a bunch of great Marvel Table Packs and single releases, a South Park Table pack and The Ball of Glory pack Featuring Archer, Family Guy, Bob's Burgers and American Dad. These are all great fun.

There are demos for all the tables so you can try them before you buy them.
