I'm a little disappointed in the Disney Infinity announcement.  Sure, that's less figures that I'll have to buy for my kids but Infinity is more fun for me to play with them than Dimensions or Skylanders.  I liked being superheroes.

I suspect Battlefront 2 will be more of a 'standalone expansion' or level pack with same engine\design\mechanics as the first, only focused on the new movie(s)... right?

Given how BF1 was light in content, I think skipping this one and just waiting a while is the best decision. Man they really want to milk the heck out of this one :shame:

Yep, they announced they'll include more battles from the original trilogy, and much more content from the current trilogy.

So, how much content do you think they'll have this time?
Think they'll have a single/co-op campaign or keep the Online only?

Should we be calling it BFr1 to differentiate it from Battlefield 1?

So I already have Rayman Legends on vita, but I hear its better on PS4. Plus, the platinum for the the Vita version is alot harder because of one particular trophy, but the PS4 one seems obtainable. Anyone played both of them? Thoughts?

PS4 is by far my favorite version and I own/have played them all...

I personally was not fond of any of the touch screen versions.

I demand you honor your pricing error lest I have to hire someone's dad to persecute you.
I can see it now, some old dude following someone around in real life throwing out trollish verbal isults in an effort to persecute someone else for a typo. That sets off some hilarious imagry, thanks.

Haven't played the Vita version, but can confirm that the grind is strong for getting the platinum. It'll take at least three months of doing challenges everyday along with 100%'ing the main game.

Anyone notice that The Washington Post gave Uncharted 4 a 4/10?  The "reviewer" stated the series should have ended with the 1st one.  That one review alone dropped UC4 from a 94 to a 93.  It's all opinions but Metatcritic needs a better process for evaluating reviews.

The goal of that review is probably to generate clicks for a dying newspaper. Don't help them.

Why is this a big deal? I don't look to WaPo for game reviews, so I don't seek them out or put any sort of emotional/mental energy on whatever they put out there.

So I did a little digging. It is a satire piece I guess. There was no score given but Metacritic decided the review was a 4 out of 10 and posted it on the website. Turns out the real review for the game was a 4 out of 4 stars. fucking Metatcritic.

"The games have always struck me as garish more than gorgeous, more interested in overwhelming the senses than communicating with them. “A Thief’s End” is overflowing with useless detail. It overwhelms the eye with so many different points of focus that one almost clings to the over-the-shoulder focal point at the center of the screen"

With lines like this on the "review" one cannot help but laugh...

to preorder Doom or not to preorder Doom?

I want the game especially for 6 bucks cheaper, i grew up with Doom but the the fact that review copies aren't being released until the day it's released scares me

The big deal is how Metacritic handles things like this and it is obvious from my above post that it is very badly.
I quit reading "reviews" years ago.
I decide to buy a game or not by gameplay videos, and actual "reviews" by people on forums etc.

A game can be 10/10 in a magazine, and I'd give it a 1/10 after playing it. A 5/10 game from the same magazine etc I may give closer to 8+/10.

Uh...I'm pretty sure he meant that you're in for a grind no matter which system you're on.
Ahhh. I see. Well either way, there are more trophy's for the vita version, and I think some of them are online or something, and a real pain in the ass. Ill still go for the PS4 one. If Ill actually do it, that's another story....

Ditto, I also watch twitch of someone and make my own decisions. Sometimes I'm surprised reviews still exist with the amount of word of mouth we can spread these days. Maybe every game should hold off till release to slowly kill the review cycle.

The primary thing to take away from a review is how the game plays and other objective features; not opinions. I still read reviews occasionally when I'm on the fence about a game, but I put very little stock into how much they like/dislike it. I just want to find out how the game plays and any potential problems to look out for.

http://kotaku.com/sources-the-ambitious-now-cancelled-plans-for-disney-1776370484

Some details on the future plans for Disney Infinity that were scrapped with the sudden cancellation. Ninja Theory was working on a Rogue One expansion and the next full Disney Infinity game was going to feature a bunch of Disney/Marvel/Star Wars franchises that would actually allow playing them with whatever characters you felt like. They were also planning $45 12-inch figures that were more detailed, lit up, and would be separate characters in game. The reason for the whole thing being shut down wasn't so much the game not selling, as it was supposedly the best selling of all the games in its genre, but that there were too many figures that were over produced and that the people that the devs worked with to add new IP to the games forced characters/IP on them that they didn't want to work on (Yondu from Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Wars Rebels in 3.0). There's more in the post itself.

I prefer seeing the game, or a demo above all.
But I guess I should rephrase what I said.. I DO read reviews from time to time.. Mainly skim through it, odds are I either have the game or already have decided I want the game at that point.

And pictures, I like pictures 😉

If Wild Arms releases with a discount, there a a 200% chance I'll buy it and place it with Rogue Galaxy in my backlog. Damn you PS2 nostalgia, damn you!

You are still a kid, dude. All your organs are not deteriorating and your marriage hasn't happened or it hasn't gone to sht yet.
I hope that was just a poor attempt at a joke haha.

The average human brain fully matures around age 25 - that's the metric I use. You're implying that you go from adolescence to grumpy old fart, with no layers in between. Actually, that sounds like me, but I acknowledge that isn't the norm :p

Actually, declaring an age (25) as the maturity point, with no layers in between, for all people, is a bit of a misnomer as well. But yep, that's what science says, that for most folks, the pre-frontal cortex (where many of our most reasonable decisions are made) does not finish developing until age 25. Until then, often the amygdala (what some people call the "reptile brain," sort of incorrectly) is doing the work, and the amygdala is also what gets activated when we're super emotional (think angry teenage boy or super-emo girl, to borrow two stereotypes). Some say the drinking age should be 25 for these reasons (and it makes a lot of sense to think so). We are basically "teenagers" until we're 25.

I can no longer remember how we got on this topic. Science or not, though, I think the point stands that life gets in the way (i.e. the organs/marriage comment), and unfortunately before that happens, we don't realize how good we have it--and it can happen at any time (i.e. above comment).

I want to play more video games. :( My life is pretty good, though, even though I am grumpy and 34, fat and bald, and miss being 25... which is about how old I think I was when I first became a CAG!

Oh hell, Shadow of the Beast looks sweet. If I hadn't just bought Uncharted 4 and Doom, I'd probably buy it in a heartbeat.

Have to keep an eye out for some more of those discount PSN cards.

I finished it yesterday. I was a little worried about it in the beginning, but by the end I was wishing there was more. I think my biggest fear was that it was going to ape TLOU and be a downer because of all the success naughty dog had seen from that. Fortunately that wasn't the case.

i just started chaper 15, it still feels slow to me and i'm bored

i loved uncharted 1 - 3 and i have to say so far i think this game is much less fun than those games, maybe i'm just burnt out on the franchise at this point but i'm glad naughty dog is moving on

Uncharted 4 is one of the best stealth games I've ever played even with the improvements that MGSV: The Phantom Pain made. This is the one stealth game that gets rid of timers, alert statuses, and all that other clunky bullshit that makes every stealth harder to play than they ought to. It feels so natural to mark enemies, move around, take out enemies, and deal with getting caught that it should be a standard for the genre now that most of the big names are out for the count.

Thinking of picking it up for me and my siblings. I've played Borderlands (2 and presequel), obviously. I'm sure it's different.

Any input would be useful! Is it any good?
