Are the GTA PSP games worth $5? Tempted to grab a lot of these PSP games I missed out on before my PSP crapped out back in the day and these two were ones I never got to.

2K Prices are up. $30 for Handsome Collection is tempting up rather have physical for that game.
Just breathed a sigh of relief on the handsome collection. If it had been any cheaper than the last flash sale where I got it, I would have had a serious case of buyers remorse.

Maybe it's remembering the Matrix but Project Morpheus always sounded a bit scary to me. PlayStation VR sounds like something Sega would make... then again Sega VR was the name of their headset that never made it to market back in the Genesis 32x & Saturn era.

Personally I don't care what it's called. I have no interest in vr headsets or 3d tv or any of that stuff.

...

Looking forward to seeing if we get another good week of sales or whatever.
3D TVs can be quite entertaining, especially with the Disney and Pixar titles. Playstation VR can work, but only with the right softwares/games. I don't think Sony should try to push for PS4 graphics right out of the gate. They should concentrate on releasing games that run on 60 fps (30 fps for each eye), run smoothly and are fun to play. This is where I think the Indies can power the Playstation VR to much success.
Some game from PETA lol
If it has trophies I'm in. Same for Frozen.
I have no shame, lol.

The description for Kitten Squad doesn't hold back on the PETA agenda one bit:

"Sadistic robots have enslaved orcas at SeaLand Marine Park. The evil Sheep Puncher robot has kidnapped sheep for the twisted wool industry. Only the Kitten Squad is up to the task of saving these gentle animals. Players must guide the Kitten Squad, armed with weaponry ranging from carrot rocket launchers to yarn ball guns, on missions to defeat the evil robots and free the animals in this action game brought to you by PETA."

https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/kitten-squad/cid=UP1037-CUSA03195_00-NTDKSQUA40000100

The PETA thing completely explains why I saw no evidence that the game ever existed besides trophy lists when searching Google to find out what it was the other day.

I don't get this. We train ourselves on every racer, from sims to arcade racers. Burnout is very different from NFS and Midnight Run and Split Second and Blur and Grid, etc...

Sure, the more arcadey ones are 'easier' to get going with, but there's still a training period before you're pulling perfect drifts at 200mph in a racer, or even keeping a single line at 20mph in a sim.

Driveclub just takes a few races, following the general rules of racing (green flags = full throttle, yellow = slow the hell down, red = hairpin) before you're completing if not winning races easily.

Well worth the time invested for it to click.
Like I said the controls felt sluggish, and not responsive, other racers feel more natural and have a better overall feel. Whether they are sims or arcade racers. I shouldn't have to play several races to "get it" it should feel natural and make me want to invest in it's systems. This isn't about training or getting better at a game.

I'll put it another way, the PS+ edition puts you right in to a race with some more complex things going with no explanation no idea what's going on, and that's it's first impression. I think that was a bad decision on the devs part. It really did a bad job introducing the style of racing they went for.

Not saying Driveclub was bad, I was really just asking the poster to justify his bs post that called people out for not buying the game, with no good reason to do so. Like I said in my post if people play the PS+ edition and like it, you'd be hard pressed to beat it at $20, it just didn't feel good to me.

Fair enough, i just think it's a bit unfair to assume a racing game should just 'feel right' from the get go. All racing games I've ever played (and it's a primary genre of mine) require time invested. Heck, most games do - you put an hour or two into the tutorial, and then 10 more hours unlocking stuff, before you really know if the game is everything you want it to be. I put about 2 hours into DC before I was winning races. That's probably more than most racers, but I'm an 'arcade racer' player usually, so the sim touches took getting used to.

I guess the difference is that I completely understood that a new style of driving would take getting accustomed to, so didn't blame the game straight off, especially when plenty of people online told me it was worth sticking with (they were right).

BL2 for Vita for $10 a good price? Loved the original and would be nice to play on the road...
I just picked up the physical version a couple of days ago for only a couple dollars more. You're welcome.

Personally, I fully expect it to drop a bit more sooner than later.

I actually held off on trying Driveclub for a long time because I thought it was more sim than arcade (the ugly launch didn't inspire much confidence either). It's actually a pleasant surprise. Very loose and easy to pick up and play. I'm enjoying it more than Project Cars due to that. I'll play the game for a week and see if I'm still into it enough to upgrade.

Frisky, could you re-add a link to the sale history/"What's on the PS Store" thread somewhere, like in the index or the abridged FAQ? That was actually a useful resource for comparing the current sales to past trends when the search bar worked properly, so it'd be handy to have around.

It's in the first post next to "Current Deals" where there's a link to the "Full Update" that goes to that thread.

I know I'm a little late here; but can anybody tell me if DriveClub is a fun game if you can't really play online, assuming you like the controls. I'm very much thinking about getting the $20 PS+ bundle and have fiddled with the free PS+ version enough to feel comfortable with the game. I'm just wondering if I'll be missing too much by not being able to play online. I am connected online but my connection is too slow to play anything. I don't mind playing racing games offline or with just local MP but just want to make sure that online play isn't a "critical" aspect.

GTA4 with EFLC for $10 digital? Why not.

I will say that while GTAV's dominating with its online and has a good story with three different characters in it, GTAIV stands out better storywise. At best, getting the Complete Edition on disk hasn't gone any lower than $15 at those rare times IIRC. So if you are good with digital, then indulge yourself with this. It also has some multiplayer, but worth it for the story.

Grow Home has reached 1.5 million downloads in its first week on PS4/PS+:

"Today, Ubisoft announced that Grow Home, an experiential climbing adventure developed by Ubisoft Reflections, was the fastest- downloaded Ubisoft game on PlayStation to date.

As the winner in the Vote to Play program, Grow Home was available to all PlayStation Plus members as part of their Instant Game Collection and quickly became the fastest-downloaded Ubisoft title with over 1.5 million downloads in its first week."

With that bundle, you'll have a ton of races to play that MP can easily take a backseat to the rest of the game. It's more about clubs, challenges, and leaderboards than multiplayer.

The separate versions of GTA4 and EFLC are $5 each used at Gamestop. Still it's a good deal on digital especially if you have more than one system since you get two licenses. Complete edition is kind of a waste in physical form.

I've spent 95% of my time with Driveclub racing online, but there is plenty of offline content too (tours, single & club challenges, random events, etc...). There's no split screen multiplayer FYI. Personally I find the single player content a little dry. I prefer to race against live human opponents, even if it means putting up with the occasional a-hole who prefers to run people off the road rather than race clean.

I have to believe that's ONLY because of it getting voted to be free with PS Plus at release because that game is horrible. The sad thing is that it could have been wonderful if not for the the seemingly intentional utter shit garbage ass controls. It doesn't feel like the controls are just "not that great" because the developers didn't put too much effort into it but like they're intentionally horrible to add some challenge and that completely kills the easy going, relaxing and atmospheric mood the game should have had if not for always feeling like you're at war with controlling that little bastard. I 100% completed the game and that problem pretty much completely goes away once you collect all the crystals. It's just too bad I didn't realize that you could purchase that crystal detector with Uplay points before I beat the game. Although even then it would still be a control nightmare up until you at least beat the game getting the first seed. In this day in age, controls should NOT be part of the challenge, or in this case the only challenge in a game. I'd rather it have had no challenge other than finding collectibles and be relaxing to play; but they ruined that.

I would love to race online but unfortunately the best internet speed I can get where I live now is 1.5 Mbps down / 256 Kbps up. :whistle2:( And I don't see it changing anytime soon unless people actually start moving out to the middle of the woods that I live in, lol.

What's the maximum memory card the PSP can recognize?

I'm looking to get a converter (anybody had experience with these?) and use a microSD, amazon's got a 64gb for $18.74.

Maybe someone didn't tell Ubisoft it was free

You're the first person I've seen that's described the game as "horrible," although, since you finished the game and then also 100% it, i'm wondering if that's hyperbole.

To be fair to JanusDS, every review I've read for Grow Home mentions the controls being rough. Most comments I've read about the game have a lot of people complain about them. As for finishing a 1 to 2 hour game... it's not like that is a huge commitment. I'd understand questioning it though if the game was 120 hours or something crazy like an RPG.
